  1. a big LOL. like your thinking . i go, but i couldn't really tell you what all is said. after a couple of cruises, you more or less know the routine. i do check our cabin for where our muester station.

I bet the majority of people don't remember! Also your muster station is now printed on your sail and sign card.

  2. Don't all of the ships do them in the lounges and theatres and dining spaces now? The last few I have been on have been this way and it is better as you have seats while waiting for everyone and you aren't sweating outside or freezing if sailing from the North in Winter...WORSE muster drill we EVER did was NY in January...OMG...freezing outside and it took FOREVER...they did rollcall and sent people for people and it was ridiculous...

They have stations outside and inside still........

  3. I work in a land based casino and our comped anything there is never automatic grat added

This is another thing I will ask next month

When we are compt on the ship from the casino host we sign the ticket with the price of the drink plus 15% gratuity then the total is zerod out.....I would not expect a land base casino to do this as they don't automatically add gratuity to the drinks......

However I have not gotten this new free drink card yet but I would assume it would be the same......

  4. I gamble really big and never have gotten the card the first or second day. What do you guys play and how many credits a spin.Usually we plan pennies 20 lines times 5 credits

    each.$1.00per spin

Also you can get rated playing tables I have never asked but I read on here you need to be playing $25 average bet to be rated.I usually play more than $25 but have never asked ,this cruise I will ask

I normally look for the 2 coin quarter machines......which are pretty much disappearing......so will settle for a 3 coin quarter machine and quarter poker machines....if I am not doing well I will go to the penny machines...and usually play like 60 cents a pull however if I'm doing really well I will switch to max bet often......

  5. Also, in case this was not mentioned earlier....;)

You MUST BE sitting down at a machine and playing at the time you are ordering a drink. You cannot go to the casino bar and get drinks. A wait staff person must physically bring them to you. You will sign for them, just like room service with a zero balance.

I tipped in cash to make sure the drinks flowed because once I received my card, the servers seemed to disappear. Prior to that, I was approached many times:eek:.

I received my DOU card the second night:o:o.

Why would the drink servers disappear once you receive the card? When you signed for the drinks wasn't the 15% added for the gratuity? I can't imagine them serving free drinks without getting the 15%.......

  6. Not sure if you know this but~~the drinks on us program is only available in the casino while gambling~ you can not use the card they give you up on the Lido deck bar etc..~

And not all ships have this yet.

One poster stated that it is $2.50 played per 1 point: you would need to have $3750.00 in total spins. So if you went on an average payback of 80% (it could be higher or lower); you would lose 750.00 to get to 1500.00 points.

$750.00 dollar credits.......which means it could be your money or the casinos money....

I normally budget about $100 a day and normally I get 1500 points on the second day........and alot of the times I am ahead on the second day....so in those cases it cost me nothing but most of the time it is about $200 for me and I normally play quarters.......

  7. Here I am!:D

Going to my awesome condo on September 9 for two weeks. Can't wait!

I like Gordo's Carne Asada tacos. BTW, one is plenty.

There you are:D You just can't stay away from your little slice of paradise can you? And you know once again I'm jealous....

Yes big tacos at Gordos and delicious!

  8. My wife and I love Cabo.

Any of the taco restaurants will be wonderful, amazing, and unbelievable!!

If you want some seafood check out Maro's which is a hole in the wall near Cabo Wabo (excellent prices on lobster tails and they have an alcoholic drink called the bulldog which is excellent)

Also, we like The Office which is right there on the beach. Pricey (relatively) but awesome to eat literally on the beach and still has good food.

Ah yes Maro's is right across the street from Mama's Royal Cafe. We were going to eat there one night but didn't have time.

We had lunch at Gordo Lele's 3 times the week we were there in May. And will be returning to add our picture to his wall.....lovely fella!

  9. Headed back to Cabo for the 3rd time and each time we end up at Cabo Wabo because we love the food. This time we want to try some place different. We don't care if it's even a little hole in the wall place, as long as you've had a great dining experience there, we'd love to hear about it.

Hoping you can help and thanks in advance!! ;)

Best places to eat are the little hole in the wall place.

I recommend Gordo Lele's and Mamas Royal Cafe. So far I have found that Mamas Royal cafe have the best bloody marys in town. But there are more places for me to try next time lol......

That is the first I have heard that Cabo Wabo has good food though......

  10. Still somewhat off topic - but can anyone explain how the "ignore" feature works?

I have never utilized it (I simply ignore in an à la carte fashion), but have wondered how it alters the message board experience for those of a "black or white" mentality.

    Tom

I have never seen the need to put anyone on my ignore list......but I sure wish people would follow thru on their end:D

Anyways thanks for this thread! Great info!

  11. I happen to agree with the whole on Vacation mind set. That said I would love to see the beer/drink hawkers slack off a little bit. It seems to be a race as to who can get to you 1st. Of course this slacks off as the days go by but day one is a killer for me. I avoid the Lido when we get on for this reason

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!:eek::D:p

  12. Just got off the phone with an Ocean Players person...and as long as you are on a 7 day cruise you get the free drinks in the casino...and your points accumulate over time..that means...YOU GET FREE DRINKS. :D (provided you have the 1500 pts needed)

This is not correct. It is 1500 points per cruise. And they did not have it up and running on the Spirit.

  13. Thanks again everyone. Yeah, RCL's pizza was nothing special aside from it being free. I just remember reading in various threads about Carnival people touting Carnival's pizza (and food in general) over RCL's. Will be fun to compare.

Your setting yourself up for disappointment:D Carnivals pizza sucks and you can't order it thru room service.........this is from as recent as my Dec. cruise........

RCCL has a more extensive room service menu serving hot food.......
