Lovely video, thank you for sharing. I'm taking my daughter and her boyfriend in August and he's not been to any of the ports (or on a cruise for that matter) so looking forward to seeing it through fresh eyes.

I've always had to cancel, lose my deposit, and rebook to get any price reductions in the past. I was told this is because we have ABTA and ATOL protections so there's no way to adjust without cancelling.

We took an Uber into town today. It was very easy. There's a spot labeled for "pre ordered taxis" where you wait for Uber pick up...it's right after you walk through the little terminal building. Can't miss it.
We paid 6.50 to the city center (plus tip of course)
ah that's brilliant, thanks for that info.

Hello all. I'm on the 26th September sailing (going solo) and just been catching up on here. I saw that Joff Eaton is the CD which is great. He was the CD on Independence of the Seas on 2 cruises I was on about 10 years ago and he was fab.
Ok a question about Belfast please: I'm meeting some friends who live in/near Belfast and thinking of getting an Uber as I don't know yet where we'll be meeting and I've never been before. Has anyone else taken an Uber in Belfast from the ship and if so, is it easy enough? Where do you wait?

My daughter and I have done both, as we've visited Lisbon on 2 cruises and loved both. The zoo is quite old fashioned and was very quiet, despite it being August, but we loved seeing the animals, there was a great selection. The aquarium was very modern and lots to see there and we loved it too.

I came back from our cruise in August 2lbs lighter than I left. I ate and drank what I liked (and didn't really even try to be good) but I did walk plenty around the ship and off the ship which I think made up for it. Also I rarely snacked between meals, which is my usual downfall at home.

What a fabulous thread, thank you to the OP for giving me a good giggle this evening, I needed it :) :)

I took a price drop and lost my deposit but still saved about £900 on our cruise this last August. It wouldn't have been worth it for £180 saving but for such a huge amount it was.

Clear your cookies and cache maybe?

We had 30% off at the Tuscan Grill which was offered to us by our waiter in the MDR. He asked if we'd considered any of the speciality restaurants and we mentioned thinking about going there and he organised the booking and the discount for us.

In the UK all prices shown musts include taxes/gratuities etc, it must be the final price, it is not permitted for anything to be added on after.
-
Our itinerary said we would be tendering in Mykonos, even up to the day before we believed we would be tendering, but as it turned out, we docked (which was obviously easier for us).
-
You can upgrade from classic to premium onboard at any time. I upgraded halfway through our cruise and just paid the difference for the days left (plus the 18% gratuity).
-
The X website continued to show an outstanding balance on my cruise right up until I sailed, even though I was completely paid up and had it confirmed (and obviously sailed so was all ok). Don't worry too much about what the website does or doesn't show.

The person that doesn't drink can order non-alcoholic drinks on the same package, I can't see the benefit in downgrading the package.
-
In the UK that's illegal. A price must be set for 28 consecutive days or more (no more than 6 months previously) before being dropped for it to be legally called a sale.
-
Not so, family got theirs in the U.K. very recently.
Where did they book? Maybe their TA sent them? Because Celebrity definitely don't, they told me that categorically.

I take one of these 6 port things (mine is Anker) and have never had an issue (FYI, I make sure not to leave it plugged in when I'm out of the room, in the past room stewards have not liked that, we just plug everything in when we are there or over night):
https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Family-Sized-Desktop-Charger-Technology/dp/B00P933OJC
We took one of those too and it was excellent, could charge all our things from one outlet.
-
Or you could wait until about 49 days before your cruise and request that Celebrity send you the pre-made tags with adhesive on them.
Some people say they request them and never get them. In 6 years of cruising with Celebrity I've requested them and got them for every cruise, including the one I leave on in a week.
The OP is in the UK, we dont get sent pre-made tags in the UK, we have to print ours off ourselves.

I managed to get a price drop on our last cruise but I did lose my original deposit and my OBC. Because I had flights booked through them it was complicated but it was worth it as I still saved about £900 after losing the deposit and OBC. I wouldn't have done it for a £500 saving though, not if I then had to lose my deposit and OBC out of that.

Totally agree Burrma. Hopefully, Celebrity is listening !
Hi Chamima,
I had no idea that Sue's hubby may be onboard RF. Never heard that one before. That could explain things.
She mentioned her husband is a producer (music I think) when she did her own show, and there was no mention of him being on the ship, in fact I'm sure she said their marriage works because they're not together all the time lol. This was a couple of weeks ago.
-
Yes you would have to cancel and rebook in order to get the price drops, it's what I had to do and I'd booked direct with Celebrity UK. I lost my original deposit and had 2 pay a 2nd deposit and I lost the OBC I had with my original booking but still saved a significant amount so it was worth it.

I was just going to add the creme brulee which was amazing :) I wasn't a fan of the onion soup, got to be honest. The steak was good, didn't try the chicken or salmon from the regular choices.

Were you actually able to order luggage tags. I haven't been able to do so in the UK for the past few cruises. Last time I called they said they had run out of the luggage tag paper.
They don't send luggage tags to UK passengers anymore, haven't for quite a wihle. The tags are in the e-docs for you to print off but if you can't access them they'll put tags on for you at the docks.
Is Isafjordur ALWAYS CANCELLED????
