  1. Thrilled to read your review. We are booked in 11308 for our April 17 cruise on the Getaway and can not wait to see that suite. Did you happen to take any photos of it and, if so, can you post them?

Did you find the walk from the aft PH to the Haven to be long? What was the best route for you? I am thinking going up to 16 and across the upper sun deck may be easier than going forward all the way on deck 11.

Anxious to read the rest of your review. I am sure your daughter absolutely loved the suite and her own private bathroom!

    Thanks,

    Bobbie

Hey Bobbie, I will be on same cruise. I will be in aft penthouse 9316. It is a very long walk up to the Haven, but well worth it.

  2. Realistically if I want to get 2 of these passes what time do I need to be at the port?

This will be my 5th cruise on the Getaway April 17th. I will arrive at 8:30 like the previous 4 cruises. 3 of those times I was standing at closed doors 1st in line, once I was second. I got the vibe tickets every time with cabana and they are only 5 of those. It is definitely worth the wait.

  3. I was planning on pre-booking the Illusionarium so we could get the floor seating. Since you had no trouble booking with the concierge I just might wait.

Hey I will be with yall on this cruise. My son and I were in the Haven Last year.... We meet with concierge before shows and get in about 15 minutes before everyone else

  4. We had the same dilemna, had a ph booked in the haven courtyard on the Getaway but REALLY wanted a bigger cabin and deck, so just today, I called my pcc and changed to the AFT haven penthouse, nice to have a separate bdrm and 2 bathrooms and a HUGE deck........so happy I made this decision! Having stayed in the Haven on the Pearl, I was so worried we wouldn miss out, but it really is just a walk away!!!!

Hey browniegirl , no worries about walking to breakfast. your Butler will deliver to aft facing penthouses anytime. You can get any breakfast you desire delivered to your penthouse or balcony. NO WALKING!

  5. Renderings of ships are the ones that you can never trust! I called Norwegian 3 more times speaking to 3 different consultants, they have the exact information on the square feet of those balconies! They are not going to say 87 square feet if it is not cause they know that will change a lot of minds. I was told they had to take away all of the footage on the aft penthouses for all of the new venues for the Escape. All you have to do is call Norwegian and see for yourself that this information is correct.

  6. First- Thank you to all the long time posters (and newbies) for all the information I have found on the CC boards. Truly appreciate it!

Now, I have a question which I would bet someone on this board will be able to answer ;)

For those of you who have watched the building of the other NCL ships (Epic and the aways) any idea on when information will come out regarding the cabin and balcony sizes? I am really interested in finding out about the Aft suites Or do we need to wait til someone reviews her?

I am anxiously awaiting more information on these cabins before I book, although I have "almost" booked about 20 times already :D

As usual - thanks for all help

Hey cruisingcasinos, There is a very big difference! I am booked on deck 9 in the aft facing Penthouse with a balcony 405 Square feet! Smallest aft facing penthouse is a little more than 200 square feet which is still huge. I couldn't wait to book the same aft facing penthouse on the Escape in 2016 until I found out they are all only 78 square feet. So I booked Getaway again! you can call Norwegian anytime and they can give you this information.

  7. I agree with you Geezer Couple 100 percent! This is going to be my 1st time cruising on Norwegian and 2nd time in a suite. Last year I booked my 1st suite on carnival and the only perk I had was priority boarding. I have an aft facing Penthouse on the Getaway in May. I read everything the Butlers can and will do for you. You even have get a portable phone you can carry with you and call your Butler anytime for anything! As soon as I get to meet him or her I am giving them 50 dollars just to say hello, to show my appreciation for their service that I know they will be performing. And I plan on tipping them daily each time I request their service. And I am not some disgruntled butler Dakota 10, I am just simply a mailman from New Orleans very anxious for my upcoming cruise!

  8. Thanks Piper!!! I would appreciate that! My email is crbrowns@telus.net and am going to talk to my pcc today about changing from the courtyard to aft, yay!!!!

Hey Leah, try and get the aft penthouse on deck 9. It is the largest. I just switched from deck 11 and the balcony was 292 square feet to deck 9 where it is 405 square feet! There are also 2 videos on youtube of one of these you can check out.

  9. Hello, popped over from the other side of the website for some input.

We've heard wonderful things about the suites program on NCL and are planning to slip over and try you guys out.

I'm told "The Haven" is the place to be, and to choose a ship with it, as it gives you the best suite experience.

    We have a question. Motion.

    I've always lived by midship,midship,midship.

Whenever I'm forward on a ship you usually feel the pitch of the ship the most. Higher up is usually worse.

Makes me wonder why the nicest rooms are up there.

So, those who've done The Haven, how is the motion and wind?

I'm told even on non-Haven ships suites are often forward.

    Have any feedback?

Check out the Aft facing Penthouse on the Getaway. This isn't connected to the haven which is forward but you are still haven guests with all the perks and Butler included. And you can see the balconies in the Haven are small except for the balconies on the aft facing penthouses are huge!! You can have parties on them.

  10. We are considering booking a cove balcony but have never do so before. When talking with our PVP she discouraged us saying that those balconies get very wet and you have to constantly dry them off before using. Anyone find this to be true? Any other major drawbacks to the cove? I am aware that there are lifeboats above so they are mostly shaded and they have a more closed in feel. Thanks.

Drop that PVP! I booked my first cove balcony on the Breeze last year. I have 2 cove balconies booked for the June 7th sailing on the Breeze with my family. The balcony was never very wet. It is more secluded and the closest balcony to the water. I really do not see me booking a different cabin ever. If they are still available you will have a great time in one.
