Went here on the Escape last March, very disappointed, drinks were not muddled in front of me, they were pre-made and poured out of a large jug.  I definitely make better Mojitos

We have Premium + on our Jade cruise next month. Am I correct to assume that if I request a PP liquor, the Mojito will be made fresh and muddled appropriately?

We loved our WindJammer cruises!   We had an extremely tiny inside cabin on our first WJ cruise.  It did have an attached teeny tiny bathroom.  Shower was interesting.  No choice of temperatures, you just had to hold down the button and take what ever amount of water flowed out.

No closet, just 3 or 4 hooks on the wall, but you were living in swimsuits & t-shirts.  No locks on door, just a hook & latch for when you wanted some type of privacy.  Breakfast was announced by a sweet girl named Neesa who went past your door with a small tinkly bell.   Dinner was likely to be whatever the cook caught while fishing off the side.

..... And yes, after rum swizzles & snacks, we did see a couple of fellow cruisers moon the 'foo-foo' ships as they went by🤭

And now we're on those "foo-foo" ships 🙂

Understand the room and shower situation completely! Went on the Poly (3 trips), Mandalay (b2b), and Amazing Grace (b2b). Popeye was our favorite Chief Steward!

It's a lot more difficult to moon other ships with an inside cabin.

Omahabob, are you an old Wiindjammer Barefoot Cruiser? It was a tradition on the Windjammers to shoot the little blunderbust cannon and the passengers would moon the large cruise ships as we left port!

  4. Two years ago on the Escape, we had a "ladies lunch" at Wine Lovers and left our husbands to their own devices. The show was hilarious! The actors (from other shows on board) were very talented with wonderful voices. We were at a front row table for two and loved it! The 🍷was good (don't go expecting top shelf!) and you learned about each glass as you drank. The hard part was remembering not to drink until they tell you to!

  5. My husband, RedRover96, surprised me for our anniversary and for my birthday on different NFL cruises. I was so excited when I walked into the room and found it decorated! It really made for a special cruise! I brought both the Happy Birthday banner and the Happy Anniversary banner and he'll home and have used them for other occasions. Plus, your room steward is the one climbing and hanging things on the wall and ceilings with a ladder - you don't have to worry about doing it! 😊

  6. Sid, thanks for your fantastic trip report. We're sailing on the Breakaway in May and I really loved all your pictures around the ship! You have a unique perspective at times, but you make the journey come to life for us back on dry land! You have also inspired me to write a trip report when I return from our journey. I have retired from teaching middle school, but hopefully that doesn't make me one of those old folks you were talking about on your trip! 😀

  7. We LOVED the Waterfront on Escape when we sailed two years ago. We loved the outside Cellars Wine Bar with Jocelyn as our server each evening.  NCL had a wine guy from Portugal who did a presentation in the Atrium and Jocelyn found his wine for me to drink at the bar. She also kept my husband's favorite bourbon in stock for us as well as making wonderful drinks for our friends. On Thursday, when my husband sat down at the bar, Jocelyn asked him, "Your usual?" A girl who was at the bar for the first time commented that it was cool to have a usual and the bartender to know you that well!

We're on the Breakaway in May. Is there an outdoor bar on the Waterfront where we can get this kind of service?

I also loved just relaxing in the chairs and couches on the Waterfront.

  8. I am looking forward to the UBP because then I don't have to worry about how much I am spending for each drink. I plan on the mimosas with breakfast, trying out new drinks, wine with meals, and just relaxing without worrying about how much the drinks cost. Of course, we got the UBP as a free perk, so I definitely want to take advantage of it. Boarding the Sun in a few hours!!!!!

  9. I am glad to get this warning about the tea. We sail on the Sun at the end of March and my DH and I had discussed whether or not I needed to bring tea bags. Now I will definitely bring an assortment of my favorite tea bags! Looking forward to your review!
