  1. My husband and I sailed on the Epic in the Mediterranean last year and pretty much hated the ship. We had a wonderful experience because of the people we met onboard and the various ports we visited, but the ship itself was really bad. I think it would be especially bad with children. The decor is ugly and pretty much nonexistent and the whole focus of the ship seems to be the casino, which occupies a very large portion of the middle of the ship. I love casinos, but this was too much even for me! Also, the cabin bathroom layout would not be good for kids. You will find lots of posts about that on cruise critic and also the NCL website. For god's sake, even the beds are round! How weird is that? As much as we love to cruise, we were very happy to get off that ship and vowed to never return.

  2. We just disembarked from cabin 11318 on the Epic and the balcony was definitely large enough for 2 chaise lounges. Unfortunately, our trip was so cold and windy that we spent very little time on the balcony. Your cabin steward Bagus from Bali is the bomb!

  3. I wanted to write about what a great time we had with our driver, Marco, from Tours Plaza in March. I cruised on the Freedom of the Seas with my 80-year-old mother and wanted to find us something fun to do in Cozumel that didn't involve water sports, ruins, or drinking tequila. I found rave reviews about ToursPlaza on this board so I looked at their website and decided to book with them. I got a very prompt reply from Eduardo, the owner, with all the specifics I'd need when we docked. (The only piece missing was that I found out on the ship the night before that we were to stay on "ship time" in Cozumel, which would actually be an hour earlier than Cozumel's time----so, I was a little confused about whether our meeting time would reflect that difference.) Not to worry. Luckily Marco arrived early and we arrived a few minutes later than planned because my Mom is a very slow mover, so we ended up at the meeting point at just about the same time. He was very friendly and helpful and asked us where we wanted to go. I had a few things in mind and he also suggested a tour of the city area (a very small city it is) and then he gave us a very detailed history of the island. We found it quite fascinating and his love of the island is very evident. We went to the KAOKAO chocolate factory for a tasting and then drove over to the east side of the island and made a few beach stops along the way. We had drinks, shopped, and soaked up a little beach and ocean warmth. It was a really nice day and we were so pleased to have spent it with Marco! I would highly recommend this company!
