I’m looking into these bags as an option too! Which one do you use? I’ve been looking at the pacsafe metrosafe ls250 model since the larger one isn’t practical for me. Pacsafe seem to have better construction and security than the Travelon models I’ve looked in to and there seems to be little significant price difference between the two company products. DH has a Crumpler Nikon bag he’s considering using and a sling bag too. I’d rather not have him look like a target whilst walking around the locations we want to visit and experience problems. If you know of any other reputable bags please let me know about them since I’m still planning everything.

I have had my Pacsafe bag for quite a few years. I looked at their website before answering this post, and the one closest to what I have is called the Crossbody Stylesafe. Also, I use an RFID protected wallet. It’s also by Pacsafe, and is the W200. I don’t use it on my wrist; I use the cord as an attachment to a tab inside the purse. If someone tries to get the wallet, I’m going to know it. Some people feel that some of these things ( like RFID protection) are unnecessary and simply things to sell merchandise. Personally, I’d rather err on the side of caution.

  2. Has anyone used Quick Shuttle from the Auckland Airport to downtown. I've received a quote for 2 people, private transfer of NZ$75. Have yet to confirm, but it doesn't seem too bad a price. Just trying to see if this is a reputable company.

  3. We have trouble with the website when using an Apple computer, both iPad and Mac, with either Chrome or Safari. With our PCs, there's no problem with Firefox or Chrome. When DH talked to a shoreside concierge about the issues we were having, she did mumble something in agreement about issues with Apple computers and the website.

  4. Would you be willing to go to Cleland Wildlife Park on your own? It's only 20 minutes from Adelaide, so you could take a taxi or even get there via public transportation. Here's a link to their website with info in how to get there: http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/clelandwildlife/plan-your-visit/opening-hours-and-getting-here

Thanks for the information. We'd be more than willing to do it on our own. Are taxis easy to get back from the park? In San Francisco, we can get taxis to places, but getting back is problematic.

  5. We had a diver using Victor Bodden tour. She recommended several places. We chose one opposite a beach...open air. Can't re bear the name of it. Food~soft shell tacos, chicken, and several is,and specialties which again are lost to my memory. I do remember enjoying every bite. [emoji39]

  6. We did this cruise several years ago with the Lucerne add on at the end of the cruise. Lucerne is beautiful. The tour included a short introduction tour and a longer tour up into the mountains with a cog train trip back down (I think that's what it was called....can't remember the exact term right now). Hotel was nice with a great breakfast. Lucerne is an expensive area.

Amsterdam on your own is easy. Stay there a day or two and get over the jet lag.

  7. Look at both ebags.com and Magellans. Both sites have many types of packing cubes. We both have several kinds and like them. It allows us to pack similar items in a cube...tees, undies, sweaters, shirts. If you have to open your bag for TSA or Customs, things are neat and don't fall out.

Rolling the clothes really helps cut down on wrinkles as well as Downy Wrinkle Release.

  8. Ditto a lot of the previous posts. Also, we both use Exofficio brand clothing that dries overnight, and we have some foldable hangers which I got on Amazon. I like these hangers better than the inflatable ones. If clothes are too wrinkled, we have the laundry service press them. We've found less damage to clothes when pressed than when laundered.

  9. While we were in Barcelona for more than one day, we did take a half day tour the first day as an overview of the city. There are several tours that leave from the Plaza Catalunya. The tour did allow us to by pass a very long line in the hot sun at Familia Sagrada. The guides seem to have group passes that allow you to go to the front of the line. Would imagine other tour companies going to sites that are crowded would have the same kind of ticket. Do leave time to wander Las Ramblas.

  10. Certainly not a cheap place. Vegetables were scarce, but some restaurants had salads. Fish was the most reasonably priced meal, and the soups were good and warming. We were there in August, and it was quite chilly. Whale? Now that's an experience!!!!! I didn't see it on restaurant menus, but we did see it in some of the markets attached to fuel stations. Anything with beef-burgers- were pricey.

  11. We were in Iceland several years ago. I don't remember all of the choices at the airport, but there were some that seemed to offer more than a pastry.

We landed at dawn, and a bus for our land tour met us. We had breakfast in Reykjavik earlier than 11:00. It was a small restaurant near a large cathedral right downtown. Can't remember name...probably can't pronounce it either. ;)

A terrific country to visit. Full of contrasts and nice people.

  12. We finally opted to stay near Hobby. Stayed at nearby Marriott with shuttle. Scheduled bus from Hobby with Royal Caribbean and took shuttle back to airport the next morning to meet bus to The port. Also took RC's bus back to Hobby after the cruise. Very easy and much less expensive than getting a ride to Galveston, a hotel there, and transportation back to Hobby after the cruise.
