  1. We started cruising MSC in Europe and love the more authentic experience.  I don't want to be on a ship full of Americans when I'm in Europe - I'd rather be with Europeans - hear their languages, see their style, enjoy it as part of the adventure.  The priority tender and/or re-entry after the ship is very nice (look for a butler with the Yacht Club "lollipop" at the front of the line).  The Yacht Club restaurant is excellent (I have food sensitivities that require a lot of attention, and they are fantastic about it), the concierge service is very helpful, and the lounge provides a place to hang out before or after your day on shore.  I am a definite "Yes" on Yacht Club - no matter the location or itinerary!

  2. We've traveled with my elderly parents out of Baltimore a few times (and leave again from there next Saturday!). It is an extremely easy port to get through. You may be able to locate a wheelchair at the curb, but if not, you can feel comfortable leaving your DW while you go and ask one of the very helpful port attendants for assistance. Although we have not traveled on Carnival with my parents, I doubt that it would be much different from Royal in terms of getting assistance. The only thing that might hang you up is they may not be able to take the wheelchair on the ship, in which you case you would have to "transfer" to another. A call ahead to Carnival and the Port of Baltimore may yield additional information. Have fun!
