  1. Thanks everyone. We didn't want to take the extra pens that he don't need so I just got pharmacy to print extra labels to put on the 4 pens he will need. i always take a small cooler on board anyway so i'm just going to put the pens and a small ice pack til we board then room has fridge in it. The lantis doesn't need to be refrigerated after opening so he'll be good.

My brother in law got questioned on a flight back from Canada a few weeks ago about the ice pack he had in the bag with his pens. That's what got me thinking about it so I got extra labels just to be on the safe side.

  2. Has anyone has experience cruising with insulin pens? I got my DH script filled last week and since he gets 5 pens in a box for the month (2 types of insulin) and label is on the boxes i asked for extra labels to put actually on the 2 pens of each type so they will know it is his. Don't know if I will need it or not but wanted to be safe and not have any issues. Has anyone ever been questioned about then pens? I plan on putting a small ice pack in our soft cooler and putting them in there to carry on.

  3. Can someone tell me the prices of the huge fishbowl drinks offered only at the red frog bar? This drink was a lot bigger than the normal sized drinks offered anywhere else. And is there only certain frozen drinks offered or can you order anything you like?

  4. Thought I read somewhere that I messages will work between IPhones on airplane mode aboard the cruise with no charges attached. Can anyone verify this? we will be going a long with another couple with all 4 of us having IPhones.

  5. we will be in St. Kitts for the first time in Sept. 2 couples age 45-55. Would like to see the main sites of the city, beach with black sand sound neat too (I collect sand from every port that I can), also enjoy shopping. have read a few horror stories about some of the taxi drivers.

I gather from reading that you have to taxi to the main part of town to see anything. Is this correct? What are the prices like around the island compatable with other islands? Are there any certain souvneirs unique to the island?

  6. I've been searching for a formal dress for our October cruise, with no luck so far. I've gained weight and just hate how I look right now. I just wanted to say thanks for all of the dress pictures. Seeing some plus sizes makes me see how gorgeous you all are & that there are some super cute formals in 20/22! I'm back on the hunt this week!

Hi emamasa, I may have one or two dresses for you. I have been losing weight for the past 3 months. I have a ivory with gold glitter dress that is a size 20 that I wore on my first cruise in 2011 that is probably too big for me now. I also bought a semi-formal sundress this year before I lost weight. It is a 3x and was big in the chest area when I got it but fit everywhere else. I was going to take it up in the chest but it may be too big completely now. if you are interested I will try to get pics for you. In my signature photo is the ivory one and the sundress is a reddish pink multi-color.

If you are interested let me know.

  7. Can anyone tell me if they have heard of or have used any of the hotels listed on port canaveral cruiser dot com (all one word with no spaces)? They are advertising hotel stay, parking and shuttle for up to 4 people starting at $8 + taxes. There has got to be something more to this. We were planning on driving down the morning of the cruise but if we can stay for the same amount or less than parking then why not? Carnival Liberty 8 day Sept. 13, 2014

  8. dontpanik - I see by your signature that you sailed the Scandinavian World Cruises Scandinavian Sea back in 1992. I didn't think that anyone now a day even knew when they were around. My very first cruise was on her sister ship the Scandinavian Sky in 04/86 for my senior trip. Things have changed so much with cruises since those days.

Not sure how long you have lived at the port but I had a cousin that lived right on the curve as you are going to the port. (at least that's how I remember it - it's been years since I've been there.) She ran a plant nursery out of her house called "Maggie's Mini Nursery" Would you happen to have known her? She passed away probably 6 or 7 years ago.

Can you tell me where is the safest and cheapest place to park for an 8 day cruise in September? We are planning on driving down the morning of our cruise so we won't need a hotel to do a park and cruise deal.

  9. Thanks for the replies. Taking notes on what everybody enjoyed. $20 town tours sounds really good. We really don't care a lot about paying a big price for the carnival tours if the port is safe enough to explore on our on.

    Keep the ideas coming.

After I thought about it I guess I will have to wait til after April to get a copy of the fun times as the Liberty is in Miami now and won't be in Port Canaveral till after that.:(

  10. Last year a few days before we cruised they called to offer me the grand suite. there was 4 of us booked in an ocean view on riviera (6a). They wanted $500 total. It was tempting as we had built up $220 OBC but my daughter was getting married on Saturday before we left on Monday and funds were running low. Instead we used the OBC to cover most of our tips.

By the way it was a 5 day on the Paradise.

  11. I booked cruise on the Liberty this week for 9/13 - 0/21/14. 8 day going to Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas, and St. Maartan. Just have a few questions.

Does anyone know who our cruise director will be?

What are some must does at these ports?

We are in cabin 2230 - Anyone been in this room? good/bad? Which bed sleeps better for 3rd/4th person - couch or top bunk?

Best time to get to port if we don't have fttf?

Best and cheapest place to park at PC? (Daughter has handicap pass but no special equipment on vehicle if that makes a difference)

That's all for now but sure I will be back with more latter:):D

  12. I assume that when you say given a bill at the end of the meal that it is taken from your S&S card right? We will be on the Liberty in Sept for our 28th anniversary. Was thinking about doing steakhouse the last night on board (9/20/14). Can anybody give me an idea of the menu served in steakhouse. This will be our 4th cruise but first one with a steakhouse as fantasy class ships don't have them.

Also does anyone know which nights are elegant nights on an 8 day cruise Eastern Carib. on the Liberty?

  13. Need help deciding which would be the best cruise to book for our next adventure. Would love to go to Alaska but at $1000+ per person for 4 of us is just not in the budget (cruise, airfare, and motel).

    We are looking at:

7-day on the Fantasy out of Charleston 10/4/14 going to Nassau, Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk.

7-day on Liberty out of Port Canaveral 10/4/14 going to Cozumel, Belize, Mahogany Bay and Costa Maya.

8-day on Liberty out of Port Canaveral 11/7/14 or 11/28/14 going to Grand Turk, St Thomas, St Marten and San Juan.

    Pros & Cons-

    CHARLESTON

*Live 60 minutes from Charleston so no gas bill, hotel bill and free parking in Handicap parking for week. $15 - $55pp cheaper than the other cruises.

*Have already been to Nassau - not my favorite

*Don't mind smaller fantasy class ships - been on 3

    PORT CANAVERAL

*Can drive to Port Canaveral in 6+ hrs. - +-$100 gas,

*Will drive a day ahead so have hotel and parking costs, restaurant for at least 2 meals

    *Have been to Cozumel twice.

*Never been on Libery (only on Fantasy class ships)

*Can go for 8 days instead of 7 for only $35 - $55pp more.

*Goes to 4 ports instead of 3.

Is it worth the extra money for Port Canaveral cruises? Please give opinions of ships, ports, likes, dislikes, etc.

  14. Had a brand new still in package surge protector strip taken on our second cruise after it made it on board just fine for our first cruise. We never used it our first cruise so it was still in package but the not-so-nice lady in Charleston felt the need to take it to never be seen again. I found a led night light with 3 110v plugs and 2 usb ports on clearance for $5 at wal-mart. Worked great last cruise. There were 4 of us in cabin and we had phones being used as cameras, cameras, and a tablet. never had to worry about not having room to charge something and had a nite light too.

  15. We will be on the Dec. 5 sailing. Wondering what type of safes are in the OV cabins. Do we need a magnetic strip card or are they the old combination safes?

We were on the same sailing. Had a great time but did not have the greatest room steward but we survived. The safes are the magnetic strip card type.

There were 4 of us in the cabin so we just had a hiding place for the card if anybody needed to get into the safe if the others weren't in the cabin.

  16. Then don't under dress!

In my experience, the usual dress on most ships is definitely not shorts and t-shirts. Yes, there are people who choose to dress this way but it seems to me they are far outnumbered by men wearing golf shirts and khakis or nice jeans.

    Scott & Karen

Maybe I misunderstood but I have read on the boards numerous places that the usual dress on carnival during the day is "shorts and T-shirts, bathingsuits, etc." Maybe you are used to a diferent cruise line or am I terribly mistaken on what I've read. I am female so I usually don't wear golf shirts and khakis.
