  1. In two weeks today I turn the big 2-8!

This is also the same day we start our trip! We're flying to Montreal Tue Nov 5th, spending the night in Montreal than catching a BA flight from Montreal - Barcelona on Nov 6th arriving Nov 7th. This gives us the 7th, 8th and 9th in Barcelona to explore.

These two weeks will fly by.

I just read this......2-8.....for shame! LOL - I just turn 5-3, and could be your father. Therefore you will need to carry my luggage around! LOL - I am just kidding. You are in the prime and having a great time. Enjoy everyday because age does not matter! You hear that all the time, but it is true. :D

  2. Congrats on your upgrade! I've never been offered one, glad to know it really does happen.

I thought the beverage package was too pricey at $770, much less with another 15% on top of it. I just can't imagine spending over $55/day on beverages for myself, but I guess it's a good thing to offer to those who want it. I do like a good cocktail, and I'm fine with buying some expensive ones...but I usually go for something a little cheaper...and let's face it, we're being offered this package because the bean counters at RCI have figured that the cruise line is going to make a profit on it.

Woody and I purchased the All you can drink package, because we do enjoy our cocktails through out the day. Not that we are drunks, but a bloody mary after breakfast, some beer during the afternoon by the pool, or one or 2 of the foo foo drinks. And then wine/martinis with dinner, and drinks in a club or lounge after dinner. So for us, this is worth the price. And we don't have to worry with gratuities or our bill when we get home. ;)

  3. Hi, I'm JR, just thought I'd introduce myself. Randy and I are booked and really looking forward to this trip. We were on the 2011 Navigator TA Rome to Ft. Lauderdale. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi Randy and Jr. Welcome to our group. I am getting so dern excited. Woody and I leave Monday and will arrive BCN on Tuesday noonish if all goes as planned. He works for American Airlines so we travel standby. We look forward to meeting everyone in the Schooner Lounge as well. That was so much fun to do on our last trip. Then would get groups together for port of call activities. We usually just get off the ship, look around at the port, things to see there and have lunch. Join us if anyone wants to. See ya soon!!!!

Afternoon everyone! Well I am SO ready for this trip. Woody and I are headed over to Barcelona on the 4th of November. And I am ready. We've been looking at the ports. Lots of fun to be had! And I am looking forward to meeting everyone. Don't forget we will be at the Schooner Lounge at about 6:30 each evening to have a drink and visit.

  5. Hello! My partner, Lee and I will be on the TA crossing on Navigator. We live in Houston so arriving in Galveston will be really nice! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Welcome to you guys. Houston huh, we may know each other! I bartend at 3rd Coast Downtown. If you are ever in Galveston on a Friday or Sunday afternoon stop by and say Hello! Also if you haven't seen on here yet, we are planning on meeting each evening at the Schooner bar at 6:30, if you would like to join us.

Also there is a wonderful group of folks traveling together, we were with them 2 years ago, that put together tours, events on board and just enjoy each other. They even have a website you can join.

They are planning a meet and greet for lunch in the Clear Lake area for Oct 19th and one in Arlington Sept 21st.

Looking forward to meeting all of you as well!!!

  6. The meet-up at 6:30 in Schooners sounds great! FYI, last year they had a trivia contest in Schooners almost every night at around 7:00 or 7:30, who knows about this year, but let's meet and we can always make the rest of it up as we go along.

I am SO looking forward to this trip. It appears Woody and I will be moving from our large 1886 home here in Galveston to another home, smaller, a few days before the trip. We head to Barcelona on Nov 4th and will be staying at the Axel hotel there. Other friends are joining us there on Thursday. I will be ready for this somewhat relaxing time!!! Did anyone else buy or see the all you can drink booze/soda package. It is $55 a day pp and you can drink most anything on the ship. Even there drinks of the day. It's a good deal if you partake in adult beverages. Our room is 7678. Knock on the door anytime. ;)

  7. Richard - That sounds like a great plan, thanks for mentioning it. On my previous cruise, getting together with other gay folk was pretty much catch as catch can, not very well organized ahead of time. Would really enjoy meeting all of you.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hey there guys.....I know of 6 other guys coming with us. I am not sure if they get on here or not. Why don't we plan on the 6:30 drinks in the Schooner lounge, and anyone that wants to join us can. We've done the toboggan ride and it was a blast. It is an easy walk from the boat to the cable cars, then an easy and nice walk to the ride. And of course it lets you off back town and everything is close by. I've never been to the other port, Cadiz, so we will get a map and go wondering around. And your room steward will put a map in your cabin the night before. So that makes it easy, or easier.

  8. Some people over on the other Roll Call have worked up tours or might do so - it's quite an active group, many of them have cruised together before. I've heard about the toboggan run, it sounds cool. Last year my friend and I explored the ports on our own but since I'm solo this time, I'd prefer to join something organized - the ship's tours would probably be fine, I haven't checked prices for them but last year's seemed very reasonable.

Waiting for a price drop on Choice Air - if it doesn't get cheap again, I may have to change my plans...

Hey there guys. Woody and I just always get off the ship and go exploring. You are all welcome to join us. Also when we did Rome to Galveston, All of the 'family' would meet at 6:30 in the Schooner bar for drinks before dinner. If you would like to do that we certainly can. I know of 5 other gay men going from here in Galveston. So we could have a nice group. If you want to check out the other groups website I will post it here. We traveled with many of them 2 years ago. Fun bunch of people.

  9. Hey, Chris and Mathew - welcome! Glad you'll be along. I did this TA on Navigator last year and had a fantastic time - lots of fun and relaxation and really a lot of 'family' too - I'm used to seeing quite a few gay folk on cruises, but I was surprised at how prominent we were. Never any problem finding a friendly face to share a cocktail and a good story with. There were quite a few Canadians, too.

Looking forward to meeting you both. There's a very active Roll Call on the other board - you might consider joining in that one, too.

Hey there guys! My partner Woody and I will be on this cruise. We were on the TA in 2011 from Rome to Galveston. Glad to see family joining us!
