  1. I have scoured this page and appreciate everyone's suggestions for local transportation companies but have found my group and itinerary is not fitting any of the existing suggestions.  We are a party of 6 - two adults, two early 20s and two late teens.  We will be arriving into MCO the evening before our Royal cruise and have a room booked at the Best Western CoCo Beach for the night.  So leg one will be six people (who overpack) so probably 8 bags to CoCo Beach.  I have no worries about hotel to port in morning.  Upon departure we are all heading to Disney to spend a few days. So will need to go from Port to Disney and then eventually from Disney back to MCO.  I emailed Go Port as so many people have positive reviews but they only do the to and from port or their pre-booked hotel.  I also looked into Ubers - we would need two and have done this in other cities.  I am not sure about the availability of uber rides to Disney upon disembarking the ship.  I also looked into private transfer in a large van but many of the reviews of these companies are less than stellar.  Has anyone used a private company for this kind of multiple stop on different day transfers??  Should I just go with Ubers??  Any advice or suggestions would be welcomed.  I am perplexed and it is taking up way to much of my brain power daily to try and sort though the best options.

  2. Trying to plan for a day with my family at Paradise Beach and the posts I have read have been extremely helpful!  I had three questions for the experienced paradise beach travelers

    1.  Seems like at other ports they demand or prefer (add on additional 19% fee for credit card) cash payment.  Is it easy and OK to just use credit card without enormous additional fee at Paradise Beach to pay balance on account or should I plan to take cash?

    2.  Seems like there are lots of extras (massage, horse back riding, parasailing) once on property.  If you want to partake in these actives is there a price list somewhere and are they through the resort or a separate company that you can use a credit card?  Also are there any of these extras that anyone has found a MUST DO??

    3.  How much do you usually take for tips?

  3. I tried searching this topic as but could only find threads 5+ or more years old and just want to be sure in a post COVID world that there are not other instructions or experiences people could share as I am a little anxious about the process.  I am sure we are not the first to have this issue of a travel party of 6 - Two adults, Two "rookie adults" age 19, and two 16 year olds traveling this summer on the Allure.  We have three rooms - two interior connecting and one balcony directly across the hall.  We had to book with a parent in the 16 year old room but once on intend to have the "kids"  all in the interior rooms and parents in the balcony room.  My question is will they give me a hard time switching or adding the room key portion of the sea pass card so that we all will be able to access our correct sleeping room and is it still best to wait until on board and handle this all at Guest Services??

Thank you in advance for direction and any previous experiences as it will make me feel much better knowing in advance it will not be a huge deal.

  4. Have several excursions planned upcoming and curious how others handle tipping tour guides?  Is there a "standard"?   What if there are multiple stops (ie Dunn Falls, Blue Hole and Float Trip).  How do you handle and what is customary?? Thank you in advance for any advice!

  5. Will be in St.Thomas on RCI Oasis this summer. Been researching this activity for my adventerous family. Looks like we would call to book with company directly but I can't find details on website of the cost? Also could someone clarify the getting there and back when you are not booked through the ship? I see it is 40 for two round trip taxi but does the driver wait for you? Does anyone know of a driver we could contract for day so after zip we could perhaps hit a few other places on the island?

  6. Ok group don't let me down....

We will be cruising on the Oasis in late June 2015. Leaving out of Everglades. Need hotel for night pre-cruise and post cruise. The issues are that

    1. I am traveling with kids ages 11 and 8 and will need kid friendly food choices and pool/beach to accommodate.

    2. Our return date is ON July 4th and many hotels are ALREADY booked. I have read there are fireworks on beach that night so would be nice to see but not sure from where they are viewable.

Looking for suggestions that would make both 1 and 2 work. Also with easy access to airport and port. I have read all the previous posts and have not put all this into one package. Also ok spending a little more but not Ritz$. Looking at Hyatt 66, Marriott Harbor Beach, Westin...again anyone with kids who has done this July 4th deal? Also even considered going down to Hollywood as option. Need to book SOON so will be eager to see posts. THANK YOU in advance!

  7. My family of four has booked with Liberty Tours to go to the Blue Irie Hole. We can't wait. I bought keen water shoes/sandals for everyone and wondered if that would work well for the rocks from those who have been? Most all said bring water shoes but not sure if aqua "socks" would be better??

  8. Just back today and felt like I needed to chime in on Andros. We had wonderful meal and were docked late so walked back to ship about 8 pm well after dark and never felt in any danger. I would highly recommend Oh Andros. Be careful because others on ship were taken to other restaurants by taxi drivers who were clearly getting kick backs. Better to know exactly where you want to go.

  9. Just back today and we too booked on ship the aqua adventure for just 99 dollars per adult. The place was really slow which is why I suspect the deep discount. Also same day wad able to rent awesome cabana for just 75 dollars for day!!! We loved it and had a great time!! Also to note the cabana had a safe in so saves you on locker in addition.

  10. Used this message board frequently when planning my trip so wanted to just share a few tips from my day to help make others planning easier.

After reading this site we decided to spend the day at Blue Bay. Got off ship early and had no problem finding taxi. There were five of us (three adults and two children ages 6 and 9) - taxi cost was $30 and took about 20 min. The driver asked if we wanted dropped at the hotel desk or beach. Thinking I needed to purchase the day passes at the hotel I asked to be dropped there. THIS IS NOT CORRECT. It is about a 10 min. walk to the beach and they do not take care of the day passes at the hotel. They were to charge us $10 per person when we arrived at the beach but there was not anyone at the gate or on the beach taking payment. So we just found chairs and made ourselves at home. I kept waiting for someone to come ask us to pay and was even looking for someone to pay but during our several hours there no one appeared so we ended up not paying at the resort. I kind of felt bad about this but was more than prepared to pay when we were there but there was not any one asking. The beach is just as advertised. It is nice and your typical Carribean beach. Although very rocky. The water was clear but cool. There were several other people there from our ship. We took our own towels and my son enjoyed the pool which is fairly simple but adequate. It was odd because just before noon the dozen or so Royal Caribbean passangers who were there suddenly up and left (like we missed a memo or something). We decided that was our cue to head back as well. When we went out front there were not any cabs and our cell phones did not work to call the taxi that brought us. It was a bit of a process getting a ride back. We ended up calling up to the hotel then hitching a ride on a golf cart up to the hotel desk where they called us a cab. We had to wait awhile. So in the end this was my least favorite stop on our cruise and if we went back I would consider a different option. Not because it was bad just not the soft white sand beach with easy access I was hoping for.
