Just going to jump in here to let you know that we were scheduled on this itinerary for a b2b2b and decided to cancel this one and proceed with the back to back out of Auckland beginning on January 26th. We then booked Fiji as a land trip. I don’t know if that’s the difference, land vs cruise, but we were asked prior to checkin at the airport for proof of medical insurance and our Covid vaccinations before coming to Fiji. I just don’t want people to think it’s a non- issue for entry into Fiji. Less travelled folks reading these boards may find it confusing and no one wants to see anyone run into any trouble. Happy to be following along on these great posts about the ship, the food etc. Looking forward to joining you aboard on the 26th. Safe travels to everyone. 

Our family booked a 7 night Disney Dream with 3 kids sailing free was too good to pass up on …So excited !

I’ve sailed with AMA several times. The lounge has a piano player in the evenings after dinner when no formal entertainment has been scheduled. The piano sits upon a tiled area that is suitable for dancing.  It’s nice to see people enjoying the music and dancing. 

We went with Charlies Custom Tours when we were there in February. You won't be disappointed. He's a great guide. He walked around old town with us, giving us the highlights, toured the fort with us ( shared PR history) etc. He has a customized van named Charlie which was beyond the normal touring vehicle I have seen. Provided drinks and snacks too. He then went above and beyond our tour and took us out to some caves before dropping us at the airport. Probably one of the nicest surprises was that he took pictures of the whole day for us. He had them in my inbox before I got off the plane. Incidentally, I had some trouble downloading the photos and he offered to send me a CD. It arrived the next week. No charge. :)

Tracy's Crab Shack in Juneau serves up the best crab I have EVER tasted. It's just beyond the check point at the pier and worth a stop. I had the Alaskan King crab leg ( about 25 USD ) and worth every penny.
