  1. I need some help from people who have been to ports Ive never been to. We are looking at the differences between the 8 day March 4 out of port canaverl the goes to Aruba, Curacao and Grand Turk or the 8 day March 18 out of Ft Lauderdale that goes to the same three places but adds a beach in The Dominican Republic (I think maybe La Ramona). In your opinion would it be worth the extra money ($300 or so) to add one extra stop? Never been to any of the ports so I hope someone can also tell me how close are nice beaches to the dock. Thanks

  2. We made plans to leave port canaveral on February 15.my question is we are driving thru Daytona on I 95 on February 14 to cocoa beach and just realized that the bud shoot out is that weekend and the Daytona 500 is the Sunday we come home. How bad will the traffic be? Is there a better way to get thru? Any suggestions?

  3. Sorry I haven't been back to cc in a few days. Thanks for all the replies. I'm pretty sure we are going to do this cruise in Feb. I like that there are more similarities than differences. Also, thanks for the tip about Marti Gras. We did get stuck in some traffic of the parade as few years ago.

  4. So far my family and friends have only been on carnival. We are looking at a cruise on NCL out of New Orleans in Feb 2015. The ports are Belize, Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya. I would like any tips that would help us in going from carnival to NCL. Such as if I bring wine do I pay any fees if all I do is drink it in my room. On carnival I can order a bottle of Whiskey to be waiting in my room from their bon voyage dept. Does NCL have anything comparable.

Any other comparision and tips will be appreciated.

We have no problem with Carnival its just the places and dates for this particular cruise. Thanks

I posted this on NCL too. Only one response that was a little helpful with the Bon voyage type liquor. Told to check the FAQ page. I have read through a lot of it but it gets a bit confusing as to how it compares to Carnival. Since I've been on five Carnival Cruises it all I have to compare too. I'm hoping my Carnival friends can help me with more comparisons.

  6. I just checked and Southwest has some pretty cheap flights the same day. If you happen to have problems with the one. Keep their number with you as well and maybe you can jump to them if it means getting you to Miami on time.

  7. You are correct Thommy Boy. I didn't realize they had removed the upcharge for solo cruising so wasn't sure why my PVP put us in 4 rooms. He is a new PVP to me as my old one no longer works there. I really liked this new guy though. He was trying to do whatever he could to get me a cheaper rate. If my husband and I were in the same room it worked out to 379 pp but with the way he did it because then we qualified for some on board credit it works out to only 339 pp. Sorry if it hurts solo cruisers later but Carnival really should realize that they could have used those cabins differently if they would have made it the same price either way.

  8. I booked yesterday for a cruise that leaves March 3. My husband and I and a couple that we have cruised with several times. When I called I was trying to get as good of a deal as I could and my new PVP (have never used before but my previous one no longer there) told me that there was a special right now that if I booked two rooms I would get two rooms free. Don't really need two rooms since it is just my husband and I but the rate was cheaper. Now I have four rooms and each of us going has a room to ourselves that we are booked in at a rate that is not higher for solo rate.

My question is has anyone heard of this before? I don't want to get there and someone say we are going to be charged double since there is only one person in the room. It is only a week away and I paid everything in full plus gratuities up front. My confirmations show total paid in full. Should I do anything else?

  9. Sorry that happened to you. One year some of my friends and I were planning a cruise and we were trying hard not to tell another friend. Nothing against that friend just didn't want a large crowd going with us that time. Well the cruise before that friend had booked after us and used my PVP so she could link us for dinner. Well she saved her email for the confirmations. This next time when we were trying for her not to find out all our booking information was sent to that friend. Neither I nor my PVP had thought about it being changed. Needless to say guess who went on the cruise.
