  1. A few questions about being in Port in Tortola. Will be in port on November 21st from 8-6. Looking into the JVD excursion through NCL but wondered if this excursion will only have NCL guests on board? If this is a half day excursion what is there to do on Tortola to fill in the time before cruise departure? How much to tip the tour guides?

We are also on this cruise with you....where are you finding the excursions already posted? They aren't showing up for me! Would love to explore our options!

  2. I realize this thread is a from 2015/2016, but quick question if anyone can answer...there is great info here! Am I crazy to think about taking the ferry to St. John if we are only in port this Nov from 7am-2pm on NCL? There are 8 of us and last year we did a catamaran sail to St. John and loved it and would love to return....just afraid of timing on this crazy short port day!! TIA!

  3. According to a post from earlier this year, the married business owners had a conflict. Who knows whether it's true or not but most of the reviews here since 2016 have been poor and similar to those on Yelp and TA.

There have been a few "positive" reviews but you have to judge those yourself - it is very strange that a few happy "clients" disappear for years and reappear only to rave about VIP before disappearing again! They do not participate in any other posts about hotels, cruises or flights.

For private transfers try 888-transportation (the shuttle), Cocoa Beach Shuttle, Smart-Two or Orlando Chauffeured Services

    Thank you for your response!

  4. From one Disneygirl to another... we are doing the Epic in November. We will be in Epcot one day prior to the trip bc of the proximity to Orlando(and it's our happy place). We have done the Getaway twice and our kids and our friends kids loved it..we just wanted to try a different ship and this itinerary worked for us as we have done the one the Getaway is doing that week. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Our kids are excited about the "toilet bowl" slide but sad there is no ropes course. But there is plenty to keep them busy so I wouldn't stress if he goes to the kids club he will meet other kids and have a blast!!;)

  5. Assuming you don't want to rent a vehicle to drive, if you're staying at a Disney resort, you can probably take the Magical Express to MCO. (Just wondering how you plan to get to WDW.) You'll have to keep track of luggage since it's not going directly to a flight. From MCO, you take a shuttle to the port--and return after the cruise. Cortrans and Cocoa Beach Shuttle are the only two I'm familiar with. With so many people, you may want to just look into a private shuttle. Cocoa Beach Shuttle definitely offered group rates for 12 last fall.

We will be taking Magical Express to Disney PRE-cruise.. Just looking for shuttle to Port FROM Disney and return to MCO

  6. We disembarked last fall and were in the same boat (no pun intended).

We just told our porter and he got us onto a tour bus of San Juan with luggage storage. It was a brand new 24 passenger van with fabulous air conditioning and they did keep our luggage safe. We took a brief driving tour of San Juan, had a stop at an nice oceanfront park and then several hours of free time in Old San Juan.

The tour ended at the airport and I want to say it was about $25 per person, well worth it for us. Our guide was personable, knowledgeable and I wouldn't hesitate to use this method again the future.

    That sounds perfect!! Thank you!!

  7. Hello! We disembark in San Juan around 8 am and our flight isn't until 3ish...is it possible to leave the bags in storage at the port for a few hours or does anyone have a better suggestion? FYI there are at least 12 of us in our party, so a car rental and using the trunk for storage isn't an option;( Thanks in advance!

  8. Hello! We are a group of 17 leaving from San Juan on 11/20. We are arriving the afternoon before and check out of our room at the hotel at 11. Since our ship, the Gem, doesn't depart oil 9pm we have quite a bit of time to explore San Juan. Any suggestions on what to do with out bags while we do this since we will be checking out and not arriving at the port oil 5pm? Is it possible to check bags early at the ship and leave? Not first time cruisers, but first time with this dilemma! TIA!:)

  9. "If you are unsure, you could always choose to wait until you board to book. When you do that, they don't charge you until you actually eat the dinner."

Should I be worried about being able to get in to the specialty restaurants once on board with a large party? I was nervous that the only times already left are 5:00&9:00 for dinner😥

  10. I just pre-booked a few meals in specialty restaurants for our party of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids, 10&12years old). I payed in full for them. Then I saw on the dailies that were posted that kids eat free off the kids menu or pay 50% of the full menu. Do I receive on-board credit for the difference? Also, how hard is it to get booked for the Illusionarium while on board because it is unavailable now. We sail on the Getaway 11/22. TIA!

  11. This may be a silly question, but I just can't seem to find the answer anywhere....Are there dispensers in the shower for shampoo, conditioner and body wash? I swear they had this on the Jewel a few years ago and my family seemed so intrigued by this they used these products rather than the ones I brought! If I can eliminate packing these for my crew...bonus points! Any other toiletries in the room? Like hotels?
