  1. I am counting down for my cruise leaving Jan 2rd on the breeze!

My family would like to self assist ourselves off the boat to make sure we catch our flight on time but we just have a few questions considering we have never done it before.

How do you inform carnival you would like to self assist off the boat?

What time does self assisters normally get off the boat?

Do you have to get off as soon as they call you or can you hang around for a bit?

Our flight is at 1oclock in Fort Lauderdale were just trying to figure out the best time to schedule a car to pick us up!

    Thank you

  2. Every time I read a post about set backs it upsets me. We need to realize that port charges go up, gas prices go up, the price of products and food are always going up, the wages they have to pay employees is going up yet we want the prices to remain the SAME. This results in cut backs and it's not only carnival read what people are saying on other cruise line boards. I rather have my cruise price remain the same and only once a day service! No pillow chocolates on my pillow, and no free cards these things do not make or break a cruise for me but the PRICE can and will.

  3. Unfortunately no you can't. It sounds like a great idea but if this were allowed on late port nights the wait would be outrageous and it would be unfair to the people who picked anytime dining who would now have a extremely long wait due to all the extra set dining time people.

  4. I know you may be a little disappointed with the change from the breeze to the splendor but the splendor is a great ship as well. I was just on this ship before it left jersey I was 18 and I had a great time I made a lot of friends and we always found things to do. I know it dosent have all the bells and whistles but it won't let you down either if you do stay with it.

  5. I talk about cruising all the time with my friends. So my friend talked her parents into going on a cruise for their family vacation one year and they hated it more than anything. i felt horrible because they went off of my word of it being amazing too. They were very bored, they didn't like the food, they left like everything was to planned if you wanted to have fun you had to go to certain things at certain times not at there own pace and they didn't like the short port times.

  6. If cruising was as you described I would never cruise. Heck if there were many people who had the experiences you have I would never cruise. I love it, But I really like when I book a week in a beach house as well. You had a gas leak in your room and that was fine with you? Seriously? People stole things out of you luggage and no biggie? You were just glad to be on a vacation? I am just not that laid back.

I'm sorry you dwell on the negative and you would let these things ruin your vacation you paid thousands for.... I am just reading this now. I've been on many cruises and yes all those things have happened no I was not laid back but i did not dwell on the negative and I realize the cruise lines did not want or make any of these things happen. I love cruising and will never give it up and every problem I've had I contacted the cruise line and they handled it accordingly and that's all I ask for. The gas leak was found at 3 am and was fixed after breakfast that morning and they removed half the money I spent on my sail and sign card as well. And yes getting on the boat we had a camera stolen out of our bags in nyc we were not very smart puting something like that in a checked bag but once again the cruise company handled it I forget how it was years ago. I'm not putting down cruising at all I was just making a point that this guy who made this post was complaining about pointless things

  7. A little background on me I'm 20 right now and will be 21 by the time of my cruise I've been on 14 cruises with carnival mainly but also royal Caribbean, and celebrity but I'm planning a cruise on the getaway it's going to be my first cruise without my parents also on this cruise line and im going with a friend And it will be her first cruise ever!

Is there anything anyone can tell me that may diff on Norwegian then other lines I should no of?

Also anything anyone can tell me about the getaway as well?

I have done the basic research but anything extra can help(:

    Thanks in advice! (:

  8. 2.0 is the reason i would choose Splendor LOL

I've never been a big show person but I understand people don't like the new ones.

But I enjoy the new food options offered with 2.0.

Although the splendor does have tandoor' and Mongolian wok as well as a burrito bar that I thought was just as good but just not as many toppings as the 2.0 ones.

  10. The splendor isn't the newest ships I've been on or the oldest but oddly I would say the carnival splendor was my favorite cruise by far. I don't let anything make or break my cruises yes there's alot of pink and the lay out can be a little odd and there can be a wait at the buffet lines but my Itinerary was amazing it was a great deal and I met wonderful people and had a great time. My server was amazing as was my the man that took care of my cabin. On the 6th night there was a minor issue. There was a smell of really strong gas in my room and we should not sleep there but thankfully we made friends with 2 other girls on the boat and stayed in their room for the night the problem was fixed in the morning and they took haft the money we spend on out sail and sign cards so far away I was pleased and we got very sincere apologies as well. But like a said besides minor things out of all my cruises I had the best time on the splendor. I base my cruises off the time I spend with my family and the fun things we get to do. Not minor things....we go get our own drinks if don't see a server or their bussy and if we need ice we go get our own from the lido desk as well as don't notice things like if the ship needs updating were to bussy at the shows water slides pools games and everything else were just happy to be on vacation.

  11. Being honest I just turned 20 I've been cruising my whole life and I'll Tell you from experience. I know there's a lot of parents that think no not my kid but the truth is the teen clubs are horrible I've seen and know of alcohol poisoning, sex in the theater, fights, and drugs people sneak on in tampons the whole nine yards and stealing alcohol right out of the gift shops. The kids can get off the boat I have gotten on and off With my friends since freshman year of high school. And senior frogs and margaritaville serve who ever if you tip to be honest. On carnival there's no curfew and I've been on cruises that have them they say go back to your room and we say okay and walk away and go hang out some where else. It's up to the parents to control their kid just like you said kids can find trouble anywhere it doesn't matter on what cruise line.

  12. Im not sure about activities but if you dont want to pack all the stuff for the basket you can always buy things on the boat. A fun ship Freddie, a little candy, a cute necklace. Buy them the day before and just hide it in the room for the morning. They have many shops on board with inexpensive things. Or you can order a package through carnival with bon voyage http://www.carnival.com/FunShops/gift-ideas/fun-packages

    http://www.carnival.com/FunShops/food-and-desserts/gourmet-sweets

And have them bring it to your room in the morning.

  13. Theres no private photo shoots that i know of. Ive traveled with larger groups and we just try to go to on of the photo stands like everyone else.

On the decks there are just 2 regular out door chairs and one lounger.

If you would like to see what they look like type in dream suite tour on youtube.

When your kid goes into camp for the day they give you a phone when you pick your kid up that day you give it back its not your to keep the entire cruise only while you kids are using camp carnival and they only use them with the younger children.
