  1. Can anyone tell me if Carnival makes any kind of accommodations for handicap issues? We are traveling with an elderly parent who is unable to climb stairs, walk fast and may be in a portable walker. We are concerned with getting her to the appropriate muster station. We are on the Magic and not sure if they have their drill stations outside or if they are in the main dining room and theater. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. What type of tour did you do with Ellis? Does he have a website (I sent him a message on FB) but was wondering if I could do more research so I don't bombard him with a thousand questions :p

What type of vehicle does he have?

    Thanks!

  3. Has anyone done the St. John's Champagne Catamaran Sunset Sailaway on Carnival recently? If so, can you tell me if it's easy to get on and off the catamaran? Someone in our party is elderly and is concerned about being about to get on and off the boat in the water. Also, did you enjoy this excursion - what are some of the highlights? Thanks!

  4. Can anyone suggest a private half day charter/catamaran company? We are a group of 10 that would like to book a tour (not through the cruiseline) for a day of snorkeling, beach visit(s) and just having fun on a boat. It doesn't matter if we are by ourselves or with another group. Thanks for the help

  5. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Nikon B700? It seems like it gets really good reviews but at this point I am so confused on what type of camera to get for our cruise. I have a smaller Nikon 8100 (I believe) but wanted to get a newer camera that had more zoom capability that I will also bring.

  6. Thanks for all the info! I decided on tennis shoes and got a pair of waterproof hiking shoes (not boots) that are extremely comfortable so I think i should be good! So different than deciding which flip flops to bring :)

  7. After talking with my TA I'm confused as to what type of shoes to bring. We are going to Alaska the end of May and I was planning on getting rainboots. My TA said that I don't need them.

We will be doing the following:

    Juneau: Whale Watching/Mendhall Glacier

    Skagway: Roadtrip to Caribou Crossing/Yukon

Glacier Bay: Viewing from ship (will the ship decks get slippery?)

Ketchikan: Either walking around town or ziplining

What are your thoughts? Should I pack a couple pair of tennis shoes, hiking boots, waterproof my hiking books or get rainboots? I really am the most comfortable in tennis shoes but I don't want to get my feet wet and cold.

    Thanks for the help!

  8. Are we talking about the same vendor? It's Juneau tours . com. Hopefully that doesn't get deleted in the post. I just checked and it's showing 2:30 and 3:30 time slot. You meet at Mount Roberts Tramway. It cost $130 but then there is a discount coupon code that brings it to $117.

  9. We are on the same cruise (Legend 5/25) and booked the 2:30 trip. I emailed the company and they said that we would be able to make this time slot with no problem. They also said that since we get there later in the day that we would go to Mendenhall Glacier first and would pick us up no later than 4:45 to take us on the Whale watching portion of the excursion.

  10. Will be on a royal Caribbean cruise with one day in Bridgetown - suggestions for a day tour?

We just got back on Saturday and did a Catamaran sailing with Cool Runnings. It was awesome! The crew was very friendly and helpful. The catamaran was in excellent condition and the most they will take for a tour is 40 people so you don't feel like it's overcrowded. We saw the catamaran for the ship tour and it was sooo crowded!

The excursion included being picked up at the pier, swimming with the sea turtles, snorkeling over a shipwreck and coral reef (suggestion take a couple of boxes of cereal from the ship to feed the fish - they were actually eating it out of our hands), then they served a delicious lunch on board with a swimming stop. They had an unlimited bar of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

This was so worth the $90/person. I highly recommend them :)

  11. So this is our first time cruising on Royal Caribbean - we have sailed on Disney, Princess and Carnival in the past. I also bring larger bottles of shampoo/conditioner in the past and never had a problem. Should I invest in smaller bottles for this cruise if they are pickier? Don't want to get called to the naughty room  Or is it just random picking of bags?

  12. So I have a silly question but it is really starting to cause me great stress. I have this tour booked for our upcoming cruise in September. I am excited to do the course and think it sounds like a ton of fun...my problem is I'm terrified of spiders (especially tarantulas). Sooooo since it's in the rainforest what is my likelihood of coming across a creepy crawly?

Like I said a silly question but one that has me truly concerned :o

Thanks and try not to laugh too hard at my question :o
