  1. Update to this posting. Just received this reply to my second email. “We do accept any test that is FDA or EUA approved. If this is the test you intend to use, you will be able to board the ship with a COVID negative result.”

This clarifies the issue, Switch Health Rapid Antigen Home Test kits are good to go.

Enjoy your cruises and stay safe

  2. Received the following reply from the Executive Office of Royal today, "I have reviewed your request for clarification regarding the Canadian company “Switch Health" available test. I can confirm that this test is not acceptable as the self-administered tests must have FDA/EUA approval.  If the test does not meet this requirement, it cannot be accepted. Understandably, things change as this is a very dynamic situation. However, as of now, this test cannot be used to embark."

I responded without naming names or ships, that someone presently sailing with Royal presented the test results from Switch Health at the pier and it was accepted. I enclosed a copy of the test results and pointed out that at the bottom of the page is the statement "This test has been authorized by Health Canada for Emergency Use Access (EUA).

Will see if this makes any difference and advise.

  3. You have probably seen that Air Canada has arranged through Switch Health Canada that Canadian travelers can obtain a Rapid Antigen test kit which is done at home via internet connection and get results back within 45 minutes. Just saw a post by another Canadian that these tests are accepted by Royal Caribbean.

I talked to CVS earlier this year and was advised that their Rapid Anitgen test is only done through their drive-through and payment is only accepted via insurance, no cash/credit cards accepted which eliminates Canadians.

    Enjoy your cruise

We are going on a European cruise in Oct 2020, some of our stops include Naples, Athens etc and I'd love to bring back things like oils, olives, cheese on the ship to take home. Can I do that if it's vacuum sealed? I know we can fly home with things in our luggage as long as we declare them at the airport. Just wondering what we can bring back on the ship. I'd be the one wolfing down all the cheese and olives at port if not, lol.

RCCL policy - However you are free to bring non-perishable prepackaged food in limited quantities.

Check the following Government  of Canada website. https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/fpa-apa/menu-eng.html

It outlines what is permissible and not.

Thank you for letting me know that they would confiscate it.  I will ask the cabin attendant if the Special Needs department does not come through.

    Sea You!!!

I have a cpap machine and have taken it on three cruises. I advise special needs by email requesting an extension cord and distilled water and these are in our cabin when we get there.  definitely do not bring an extension cord as it will be confiscated.

  6. Tried several times today same issue. Finally called Customer Service this afternoon and they attempted to effect password change. Still unable to login. They have opened a ticket with their IT Dept and advised to try on and off with the new password they imput. Just tried now still no luck. The Rep stated that the website continues to have problems since they change the login screen. Being worked on. No estimate when it will be rectified.
