  1. Hi, I got questions! Ok, my first cruise with Virgin. 1. I have deep blue and romance package where do I go to check in and how early? I got a 1:45 entry. 2. What shows are currently on the ship? can I reserve them early or do I have to wait on board 2a. Which shows are the best/ recommend? 3. What restaurants are good? Recommend please! Thank you!

The OP said they're staying in Old San Juan so they're not at the Hyatt House and they're not within walking distance of the cruise terminal.

I actually was looking to change to Hyatt house, but DH said it’s been years since we played tourist in old San Juan (native PR here). We are staying in a little hotel in the heart of the walled city. We will just take a cab to port in the morning. Thank you anyways, I confused which port we are sailing from. No biggie. Thanks 😊

Did you "check-in" online with NCL and secure your arrival time slot?

The earliest we've been able to get in line was around 9 am. Just realize that it will likely still be chaotic at the San Juan port, the earlier you go!

I’m 35 days out, won’t let me check in. I’m staying in old San Juan the day before, I’m checking out of the hotel around 11am. I’m 3 min walk to the port, just wanted to see it I have time to eat a snack  before boarding.

  5. Good Morning,

I’m cruising next month on the Epic. My DH and I are embarking at the port of San Juan. The ship is leaving Port at 7 PM. What is the earliest time for me to check in at port? I am a platinum, the last time I cruised I did not have a check in time and always cruised out of New York. This is the first time that I am embarking in the port of San Juan. Thank you.

shame your t/a couldn't explain it for you.

I’m actually in process of becoming a TA, my DH did his homework and booked it himself online. I’m the one asking because I have never cruised on MSC before and it’s the first time that I heard of YC. So I’m curious about the experience and how does it compare to Haven, because I did that and had an amazing time. 😃

What ship will you be on?

Our family preferred YC over Haven. Besides what was mentioned above, there is far more space in the pool and lounge areas. You can also have drinks delivered to your room, which is nice at times.  Depending on ship/area of ship, you can have priority elevator service.

I will say that the priority boarding at ports by MSC was not great on our last cruise in the Caribbean. Lines for security weren't terrible, but we have been escorted to the front with NCL and with MSC in the Med, they had separate entries.

    Im on the MSC MERAVIGLIA

  8. Hello everyone,

My DH booked us YC for 2024. Now that I know what is the difference between the standalone suites and YC. My question is what is included in YC? I know a butler is included and the boarding and disembark procedures, I also know about the beverage package. What I am asking is what are the perks? (Any free laundry, dining options, shows, ect.) because I’m doing my research on YouTube, and most of the information is about 2 to 5 years old. Are there any post Covid changes? It’s my first time on the MSC line and I have been only sailing with NCL. I have only done the Haven once how do they compare?
    Thank you,

  9. Hey,

I will be sailing on the Gem in December leaving from NYC  and the ship will be staying overnight in Port Canaveral. My fam and I will be renting a car for 24 hours and going to Magic Kingdom the day we arrive. Is there a place I can park the car when I return to the ship on about 1 am from Orlando. thanks in advance.

  10. Hey all, (I bet this questions has been answered, I just can't find it:()

My DH just became a Platinum member :D and I am still Gold:rolleyes:. How does this affect the perks? We are going in 7 days (NOV 25th) on NCL Epic

I am well aware that the behind the scenes tour is out (next trip I will be Platinum:hearteyes:), because it is Platinum members only and I am also aware of the free specialty restaurant vouchers can be used for Moderno or Cagney's the same as Le Bistro or La Cucina.

    1. Am I able to board with him ( Platinum/+ and above member line/area ) on the first day or do I have to wait elsewhere? Same when disembarking?

    2. Priority tender tickets, how to get it? does he have to request it?

    3. For the specialty restaurant voucher (one free bottle), can I pick the free wine, or are they limited to red or white of their choosing?

I just wanted to know what to expect before going, because DH has no clue.

Thanks in advance for the replies,

  11. Good Morning,

I am somewhat freshly done with my 10/2 cruise to Bermuda (Fabulous), and my DH and I bought cruisenext certificates. I am looking to go 7-Day Western Caribbean from Tampa on The Dawn in 2018. I am looking for a hotel that has shuttle service from the airport to the hotel to the port and back to the airport. is there such a magical hotel that can provide this. We are staying 1 night (pre-cruise) at the hotel. Thanks a bunch lovely folks!

  12. Hello--booked on the Breakaway 11/13, inside cabin deck 12--VERY small. Me, Dw, and 7 yr old and 5 year old. How bad will this be? I have been trying to upgrade, but since we got a promo, they will not honor the promo for an upgraded room (the kids sail free promo). Just want to see if anyone had this scenario, and, is it survivable?

The cabin is small, but doable. They have Pullman beds that come down from the ceiling over the queen size bed, not sure if you want your kids on that.

attached is an image of me on the queen bed with the Pullmans closed to give you an idea what it looks like. I am 4'9 to give you a reference. hope this helps.
