You said you did a natural beach. Did you do the Secret Sands excursion from the ship? If so, did they have any floats or snorkel equipment? How about any snacks? I have heard conflicting information so would appreciate any info from a current cruiser.
Thanks, Karen

I am wondering if there is a rum factory tour on Nassau? My son is interested in different rums and needs something to do in port at Nassau.
Thanks.

Does this excursion provide or have rentals for snorkeling or swim noodles or mats? Hoping to entertain the whole group. We are booked thru RCI and the Oasis in June.
Thanks,
Karen

We are doing this excursion next month on the Oasis of the Seas. Someone said there is snorkel gear provided. Is this indeed correct? We will have 5 teens all wanting to do a little bit of snorkeling. The majority of us just want to lounge around near the beautiful water, but want everyone happy!
Thanks, Karen

We are doing the Oasis of the Seas' Secret Harbor excursion and it is at 11:00 am. Since there are no food amenities at this beach are we allowed to take something from the ship to snack? Maybe something prepackaged?
Thanks, Karen

Hi, trying to decide between Smith Bay Park, Lindquist Beach or Magens Bay. We have never been to either one and looking for a beach for 12 of us, 6 children, aged 10 - 18 yrs. Are there any amenities at Smith Bay Park now (snorkel rental, food & drinks)? We are on the Oasis of the Seas and will dock at Crown Bay. The pristine beauty of Lindquist Beach is very appealing, but just want everyone happy!
Thank you for any help.

Thanks so much Gary. Looks like you are such a good advocate for the beach water quality that St. Maarten needs. Do you know of another beach close by the cruise ships with safer conditions? I was really hoping to not spend an "arm & leg" on a swimming adventure, but might suggest we stay on the ship for water activities if I can't find another beach.
Again, thank you for your help.

Just read about the pollution problem at Great Bay Beach. How would one find out when they had their last rain? Is there a weather site or similar site to find out the pollution alert for a particular day? We will be on the Oasis of the Seas in June of this year and traveling with 6 grandkids that I sure don't want to risk contaminating! Is this a hush, hush topic with the cruise ships as I can't find any information concerning this?
Thanks for any help.

Approximately how much does it cost to use a taxi from Charlotte Amalie downtown shopping back to the cruise ship (Oasis)? Not sure which harbor they dock.
Thanks for any help,

Are there freestyle soda machines on the Oasis of the Seas and where might they be located?
Thanks.

Thanks for the great review. We sail on the Oasis for the first time in June with 12 family members. Interested in the flow rider for the older grandkids. Do they have open time to do the flow rider, or do we need reservations for it? Looking forward to the rest of your review.
Thanks, Karen

How much does a coke cost? Trying to see if this is the way to go. I have a young child that wouldn't need his own package so could I use it for him occasionally? Thanks.

Fantastic review with wonderful pictures. Thanks for posting. We go on the Oasis in June 2017 and wondering if you went to any of the shows onboard?
Thanks again,

Karen, we are going on the cruise only part of the Highlights of Germany so we won't be joining the group til the 25th. We are going to tour southern Germany/Austria on our own before the cruise. Karen (quite a common name when I was born).
Hi Karen, we wil look for you once on the cruise. We are going into Munich a couple days earlier and doing some sights on our own too. Have hired a private driver to take us on the Romantic Road and to the Steiff Museum (German teddy bears) Anything you have planned we should't miss?
Thanks, Karen

We are also on the Highlights of Germany cruise late August. We have done many Caribbean cruises but have not done a river cruise. When should we receive info on tours offered by Avalon? Do most people do the free tour in the morning and skip the paid tours or are they worthwhile?
Sounds like we might be on the same Highlights of Germany cruise. We depart Passau August 22, 2016 on Avalon's ship the Visionary. This is our first river cruise as well. We are from St. Louis, Mo and traveling with family and friends from the Philadelphia area. Would love to get acquainted with you before we cruise. We are arriving in Munich a few date early to see some sights. Have you heard what hotel Avalon is using in Munich? Will pay our trip in full next week and then probably book a couple extra excursions.
Thanks,
Karen

Glad to find this thread. We are doing our first riverboat cruise with Avalon in August, highlights of Germany 2016, Passau to Basel. Would love to hear from anyone that has done this cruise or a similar one. I understand that riverboat cruising is a little more relaxed from ocean cruises. Is it true my husband will not need a jacket or tie for any of the dinners?
Thanks and look forward to chatting.

Wondering the same thing. We sail January 25th on Celebrity, so interested if this is worth the money.
Thanks for any input.

We cruised the Silhouette the end of January 2014 and they did indeed serve whole lobster tails in the Main Dining Room on one of the formal nights. Very nice with drawn butter also.

Sounds like the exact same problem I am having. I really would like to book a tour excursion for San Juan, but am not able to reserve one. The site also freezes up with me. If anyone can shed some light on how to correct this problem, I sure would love to know.....thanks.

When is the brunch on the Solstice? We cruise Alaska in a week and do not want to miss this brunch you talked about.
Thank you.

Oceania smoking policy on decks
in Oceania Cruises
Posted
First time Oceania cruisers and getting ready to book a cruise on Marina Sept 29, 2023 and wondering if there is a dedicated deck for smoking, port or starboard? I want to avoid any smoke fumes so would probably pick a room on the opposite side. I have not found out any information on their website or even Cruise Critic forums. Any help would be very appreciated.
