  1. We are going to NZ on Radiance from Sydney, hubby wants to take his father ashes to scatter on beach in NZ where his Dad lived, does anyone know what or if there are any special things we need to do...to get them on board the ship and taking them off ship.

Was thinking just having them in suitcase to board ship, when we reach port we just put in hand luggage and carry off, then just do our thing of scattering the ashes and then it done???

    Thanks

    V

  2. Great.... NOT

Why is it ONLY available to "*Prices are provided by our partners and are per person, based on double occupancy and do not include all taxes and fees. Deals are shown in U.S. dollars, and available for US and Canadian residents. Prices and availability are subject to change at any time."

Very unfair why can't you honour price drops for other countries, especially if you book ON BOARD an USA Ship, and not thru a local TA.

Nothing's wrong with taking our money ??? but a level playing might be nice.

So even more salt to rub in wounds having this feature being "exclusive"

So much for global buying and selling...only to excluded.

  3. Wow, thank you mking8288, you certainly put a lot of effort in providing me with great info.

Also thank you Carol (east138) I will email you shortly.

I have spent today trawling the net and asking Aussie friends what they have done as well.

Hubby got all the info today about his planning part re New York Marathon so we will have to make a few things to discuss and make some decision there as well.

It was also discussed that maybe we fly from Quebec/Monteral straight to Boston and start a tour there, as there seems to be more options...but also note that there are a lot of bus travel miles between each location.

Also thinking maybe extra few days in Quebec to explore and then flying to Boston and covering more in the Boston area - both area's seem to have tonnes to keep us busy.

The joys of doing it yourself and not having a decent travel agent that knows there stuff.

    Many Thanks

    Vicky:)

  4. Hi

I am looking for a tour of some sort - From Montreal/Quebec to Boston, we are getting off the Legend of Seas on Monday 11 Oct 14 in Quebec and need to be on Boston for the 18 Oct to get on the Brilliance of the seas on the 19 Oct.

I have goggled it but having no luck there seems to be plenty of tours Boston to Montreal...but can't find the reverse. So if any of you locals can help that would be great.

We are not comfortable driving, so thought a tour so we can see the sights in between, Maybe Ottawa, Toronto, Niagara etc or any other places we might not know about.

After the Brilliance we will stay in Boston for 3 days until Wednesday 29 Oct before taking the Amtrak to New York so hubby can run the NY Marathon on 2 Nov, then flying back to Australia on the 3 Nov.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Hi Carol

    Thank you for your help

We are looking at airbnb at Brookline Avenue, Boston, Opposite Fenway Park.

Also have sent inquirys at Charter St, Boston and Beach St, Boston and waiting for reply.

Also John Jefferies house looks good as well just waiting to hear back, is it easy to get around these places in Boston and any other info will be great.

    Thanks

    V:)

  6. Hi Carol

We should be arriving 18 Oct will be coming from not sure as we are having 10 days on Legend out of Quebec from 3 Oct get back on 13 Oct and have a roughly 5 days to get to Boston. Not sure what we are doing in between. (still in the research stages).

We will have 3 days in Boston after the cruise before heading to NY so hubby can run in NY marathon on 2 Nov then we will fly out sometime on 3 Nov back to Australia.

There will be the 2 of us, walking and public transport will be mode of transport.

Not planning on to much sightseeing on the 1st nights stay. Maybe just getting our bearings for when we return after our cruise

We like to be close to things, we are shoppers and like to see the sights.

Budget well I think If I can get anything under $200, I will be happy. So that's why I airbnb might be an option. so any advice would be great.

    Dates are 18 Oct, 26,27 and 28 Oct 2014.

We were actually told about airbnb from Loyalty Ambassador on Radiance.

    Thanks

    V:)

  9. Hi

    Just back

The City Hotel was fine, I myself could probably stay ony 2 nights in a row but our friends thought it was great place for 4 nights.

There is a kitchen dining and Laundry area on level 2, I think... I can't remember.

Our friends had a 2 bedroom, on the front and there main bedroom was noisy from about 5.30 with traffic and rubbish tucks but the didn't notice it really. the 2nd bedroom was fine.

Our double was on back, long and narrow room but very clean had everything we needed. We were woken at 6am as they are renovating something behind. It had T&C making in the room, free shampoo and conditioner etc so that was a nice touch.Very large TV on wall. The shower toilet area are small but NOT as small as we have had in London.

It was only for 1 night so it was fine, being just newly renovated it looks fresh.

    Great Location for everything

Taxi's pass by the door all the time, Taxi to OPT was $17.

We rolled our bags to the hotel from the 1st Cruise no worries at all problably took 15 minutes not really sure as we chatted to our friends along the way.

I think if you are just overnighting and on a budget it will be fine.

Let us know what you think???

We all have different standards of good etc.

  10. We have got NZ friends staying there for 4 nights before there cruise on the 20/12.

We are also staying the night before as well, they are on a tight budget.

So I'm sure it will be fine for them and 1 night for us will be ok as we will spend most time out and about catching up.

We would normally stay elsewhere but for $100 odd dollars for the night, I'll grin and bare it. Hopefully I will be surprised

Next day we hop on Radiance for 9 nights.

  11. Hi

I finally succumb to my Hubby's demands??? He is running in the New York Marathon 2014, 2 November. I trying to organise a cruise to tag onto our trip after it.

I'm not a great flying and the thought of at least 18 hours from Australia...well not looking forward to that at all.

Trying to research on RCI website is driving me potty.

The pages not updated etc etc.

Plus our TA's over here have not left me me with great confidence on travel I've done down under..the thought of them booking and getting it right or wrong, send chills down my spine.

So I don't really care on destination so a couple of hours flying to a Port to embark ok, a cruise anywhere from 3-10 day cruise will be ok. It would be nice to go out of the NY area, but if that's not possible I'm open to any suggestions.

We will be flying into and out of NY

But Like Australia, the USA is a big place so I really need some guidance.

so any help will be fine.

I will ring RCI, but our Australian call centre can be a mine field, and I want to have some ideas before I ring.

We are cruising in December on Rhapsody & Radiance here in OZ and want to book on board.

So the info gathering starts now.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Thanks

    V:)

  12. OMG I can't believe the photo...how bad is that bed/chair/I don't know what you would call it !!!

I'm so sorry...keep up the fight.

I wouldn't want to sleep on it for free let alone what you had to pay for it!!

Good Luck, hopefully someone will see sense from RCI.

I would have been literally camping out in reception/lobby if that was me, until something was done!

    This is not right
