That looks great!  But I'm curious.... can we put the medallion in a small purse like old key cards?  I never used a lanyard.

I have a related question if anyone wouldn't mind helping?   We are considering EZ air also.  Are we correct?  we book now... pay when we pay for cruise.. get price we book at now or lower if price drops?  we get flights and seat we book now also?  and if we get cruise insurance it applies to airfare?  what's the downside??   We usually do our own airfare but prices seem close and then we would have the insurance if we needed it.  Not sure what we get as far as insurance.  We mostly worry about if we have to postpone due to elderly parents or major illness right before the cruise.  Thanks for any help.

We just got an email with an upgrade. First I have never gotten an automatic upgrade... they have always asked us if we wanted it.  We picked our room specifically and researched it.  They are switching us from R740 (which we liked due to being able to get out on deck quickly) to C420.  We realize we are moving more to the middle of the ship so that is considered an upgrade but it looks like C420 is close to the Panoramic Lifts which seems like a much busier/noisier area.  Does anyone have any info on C420 or that area?   Why did they automatically upgrade us?  Hopefully we don't have to take it if we don't want it.   Help??

First Alaska cruise... we want to see Glacier and Whales so we are comparing... Mendenhall glacier and Whale Quest (says they go to Visitors center for an hour then on catamaran for whales)  vs. Alaska's Whales and Mendenhall Glacier Trail ( says guided forest hike then boat for whales but limited to 20 people)  Same price .   We really would like to walk to Nugget Water Fall but it doesn't mention this in either one.   Usually when people discuss the center it doesn't seem like an hour is enough to make it to the WAterfall.  Anyone can clarify this for us or have suggestions for other tours?     In Skagway ... its the best deal with the sled dogs?   

Buffet close sounds really good for quick breakfast except I'm guessing they don't do the made to order omelets in back?  those are in middle buffet line?   Thanks everyone!!!  Photo helps too!   Will we have bunks on walls in R740?  There are just 2 of us.

Thank you so much everyone!  I feel so much better.  We did price the forward cabins on Lido ( again saw the hint here) but they were quite a bit extra $$ so we decided aft one might work ok.   Plaza is usually the type of deck we book on and we liked being up a bit higher last cruise.   If anyone has other Alaska/Ruby hints/tips we would love to hear them!    Trying to look at excursions already..... So excited for Alaska!   but very different from our usual Caribbean cruises.

We just booked our first cruise with Princess  on Ruby to Alaska(have cruised before).  We needed an interior room price but really want the best room to be able to see all the outside scenery without having to stand in the cold for long.   We booked R740 back by the aft pool per someone's recommendation that it would be easy to get out quickly to get to a deck to see out.  But now as I look it will be under the Cafe Caribe.  Did we make a mistake?  Will that and back pool be noisy?  When do they serve food?  breakfast or just late pizza?  We usually sleep from midnight to 8 am.

Since it's a short cruise I would like to check in at home via free wifi when we are in the Bahamas rather than buying a package onboard. Can anyone tell me the closest, safest place in Nassau and Freeport for free WiFi? I'm assuming there won't be any on GSC.

We have excursions booked at both places until about 1. Where would be the best place to do some souvenir shopping before we get back on the ship? I'm thinking safely for 2 women....I saw some warnings about Nassau recently.

Thanks for the Waverunner info.... I will be riding on the back with my 20 year old daughter driving! Should be interesting. I just wanted to bring sunscreen for later in the day and maybe some other stuff.... don't want to have to tender back to the ship. What did you mean by communal lockers?

Do you remember how much it was to rent a snorkel/fins?

My daughter wants to snorkel at GSC and find the FAte of the Fancy trail on our own just with goggles. Has anyone done that? How do we find it? Is it alot of swimming? Is there anywhere on the island to rent the vests they say we have to have? or snorkels/fins if we decide we want them? We didn't book the excursion because it sounds like it's on your own anyway. I booked the waverunner excursion for GSC but I'm not sure what to do with our bags...is there a place to store them safely while on excursion or do I need to go really basic in a waterproof back pack?

Something I saw on Freestyle Papers made me think there was only a 9:30 evening show? I am used to an early and late show... is that right? How were the shows?

We are going on the same cruise this next week and booked the Wave runner tour. Is there a safe place to leave bags when you are on tour or should I bring stuff in a waterproof backpack during ride? Thanks!

NCL Sky 4 day to Bahamas...1. Which ports are tenders? Is there only one late show? On Waverunner excursion on GSC what do we do with our stuff? Is there a place to leave a backpack for when we return? Can we find the Fate of Fancy to snorkel on our own with goggles?
