  1. I have 3 kiddos as well. Just booked symphony yesterday for Dec- so excited! First time on Royal after many on Disney. Here is what I was told, the Oasis and Allure have many more rooms that sleep 5 than the Harmony. It was less expensive for us to get two connecting balcony cabins. Our price was around $4600 total. Disney the same week for us was $9700.

My DH is a balcony guy so we didn’t price out any connecting insides but I would imagine they would be less.

The rep I talked to at Royal was so nice!! I did almost everything by email. As you know, Royal has so many more choices than Disney for ships, itineraries, etc and she priced many many different ships for me and always did it within hours of when I would ask her. The only time we talked on the phone was for our deposit. If you want her name and email I will definitely pass it on. I was really impressed with her customer service.

Good luck and whatever line you pick, hope it’s great!! :)

  2. We are forward, deck 6, and never have sailed the Oasis. I am a little nervous since the theater is right below us that it will be loud at night. Daytime doesn't matter much, but we are usually back to the room by 11:00. We have room 6316.

Anyone stay above the theater and think it's worth it to change because of the noise? Thanks in advance :)

  3. We board on Sunday! Thank you so much for the update!

Did you do any wine tasting or mixology classes?

Is there on demand movies in the room? (thinking for the kiddos at night this would be nice)?

We are early eaters so its good to know we shouldn't have too long of a wait. Early dining was full so we are doing anytime dining.

    Thanks again for the update!

  4. We were booked on the Indy for Feb of 2016. We decided to switch to the Escape. I wasn't too thrilled about the itinerary but it was the same price as the 5 night on the Indy and we also got the drink package.

I think its definitely worth looking at switching because the Getaway has much more to do than the Indy, in my opinion, for kids (we have 2 children also).

  5. I just booked our cruise for Feb 2016 (On the Indy) and it doesn't even list cabanas as an option. I emailed and they responded saying they can only be reserved at the shore excursion desk after I board, no online booking for the cabanas. Bummer for me, I would have liked to reserve it in advance.

I will keep checking from time to time though just in case

  6. I called Carnival about a cruise leaving for Alaska on May 18, 2015. There are some greats rates for that cruise and we love the fact it does both Tracys Arm and Glacier Bay.

However, the times are not posted for both of these cruising days.

A similar itinerary on Holland has them cruising thru Traceys Arm for 1/2 hour?? Odd I thought (MIL really wants to do Tracys Arm so I know she would not be happy with 1/2 hour) so I was hoping Carnival would spend more time thru it. However, when I called the person I spoke with said that is not available for booking and will be available in June.

I told him I can book it on line. He said No, its not available yet. He even said they do not know what ship will sail there in 2015.... I said its the Legend. He said they did not know yet.

Ok, so is this just the case of 'call back because he did not have enough coffee yet' ?

Any past cruisers that had done this particular itinerary could you hopefully chime in on the time you spent thru Tracys Arm? I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks!

  7. We were thinking of trying RC for an Alaska cruise in 2015 but heard they do not do narration while cruising Tracys Arm.

Does Princess have someone who does this while in Tracys Arm?

Also, I wanted to look up some activities they have on board. Where can the daily happenings be found? I know on Disney its called the Personal Navigator and on Royal they are the Cruise Compass. I cannot seem to find what Princess is called.

    Thanks so much!

  8. We are thinking about going on the Jewel in 2015 to Alaska and cannot seem to find a definite answer about when cruising in Tracys Arm- is there narration of this, someone pointing out what to see and where?

I seen there are lectures at other times about Alaska (in the old cruise compass) which is great but just wanted to make sure there would be something when in Tracys Arm.

    Thanks!
