Hi, I'm considering booking a cruise for next June out of NYC on the Carnival Sunrise. I have cruised once back in 2011 on the Carnival Victory (had a great time!) but this will be my son's first cruise. He has been asking to go on one after watching cruise videos.
This cruise seems like a great value and has a nice mix of ports plus several sea days for relaxation. Plus my son will get to explore NYC a bit before the cruise.
My only concern is that he may get bored or restless being on a ship for this long of a cruise. Being an only child, he's definitely capable of entertaining himself, and he has no problem making new friends.
What are your thoughts? Will this be okay or should I consider a shorter cruise of 7-8 days?
TIA

I see conflicting information on the web, including the government and cruise websites. Some sites say yes a passport is required if visiting certain countries (Barbados, St. Martin, Martinique, etc). Others say no passport required at all if the cruise starts and ends in the same US port. I'm thoroughly confused.
You guys are the experts on this and I trust and appreciate your judgment. :D
Also, if a passport IS required, does it have to be valid at least 6 months past your sailing date?
TIA

It will be myself and my 5th grader. This is his first cruise, and my second one. My first cruise was years ago on Carnival to the Eastern Caribbean.
Itinerary:
Crown Princess 8 days - Sea, Sea, Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, Sea, Sea
Celebrity Equinox 9 days - Key West, Sea, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Belize, Honduras, Grand Cayman, Sea
We have never been to any of these places. The Princess Cruise is cheaper by several hundred dollars, though the cost isn't a huge factor.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, as it's a bit overwhelming since they ALL look wonderful!:D
I do wonder if the Western Carib. ports will be super crowded with all the ships that have been rerouted there from their Eastern Carib itineraries due to the hurricanes. Should I be concerned with that, or is there enough room at the ports for everyone, and we won't feel too crowded in? Will it be difficult to book excursions this late in the game in the Western Carib ports, with all the cruise ships scheduled for this time frame?
Thank you for your help.

This is why I don't eat people's potluck meals if I'm not sure about their hygiene. I see way too many women at work take the express route from the stall and bypass the sink. Ewwww. If they do it at work, I can guarantee you they are nasty at home too.

Aside from the passport, what documentation is needed? We’re considering a Disney TA in 2020 and DS will be 13.
