  1. I'll be sailing in less than two weeks out of nyc. How is the weather and water temperature in Bermuda in May? Will it still be warm enough in the evening for shorts? Also for those of you that sailed from nyc is the weather usually warm on the first sea day? I know the weather is so temperamental but just trying to get an idea.

Family member is currently vacationing in Bermuda. Temperatures are rather cool this year. It only gets to mid 70s now. Normally, toward the end of May it should get warmer. Hopefully you can enjoy your shorts...:D

  2. What's the name of the car rental place right next to the cable car? I saw someone reference it in another thread. We had planned on renting from Motor Inn, but they require you to call them at pick-up and drop-off, which we can't do, since we won't have phone service.

    Thank you!

I am only familiar with this place. Hope that's the one you are looking for. https://santorini-carhire.com/

  3. Hi. I was wondering is the tips that are charged that you may prepay for a cruise. I think it's 11.50 pp per day? When in a suite does the butler get part of that for the cleaning of the room or is there a separate person that does the cleaning

This is what ncl.com is saying...

    What about Gratuities?

Unlike most other ships in the cruise industry, there is no required or recommended tipping on our ships for service that is generally rendered to all Guests. While you should not feel obligated to offer a gratuity, all of our staff are encouraged to “go the extra mile,” so they are permitted to accept cash gratuities for exceptional or outstanding service if you care to offer them. Also, certain staff positions (e.g., concierge, butler, youth program staff and beverage service) provide service on an individual basis to only some guests and do not benefit from the overall service charge. We encourage those Guests to acknowledge good service from these staff members with appropriate gratuities. Additionally, there is an 18% gratuity and spa service charge added for all spa and salon services, as well as an 18% gratuity and beverage service charge added for all beverage purchases and an 18% gratuity and specialty service charge added to all specialty restaurant dining and entertainment based dining.

  4. Hi everyone

I am going on the Magic in October. I booked this cruise about 1 month ago and tried to get FTTF and it said it was sold out. Does anyone know if they open it back up or offer more tickets as the cruise time gets closer?

People tend to cancel, so do not give up.

  5. thanks for your reply...yikes 15 laps to a mile...do you know what deck the steam and saunas are located? Again, thanks

There are steam and saunas in each of the men's and women's change areas in the Lotus Spa and gym area

  6. Is there a deck where we can walk/run the entire circumference of the ship? If so, what deck please? Also are there steam or saunas available? TIA:D

There is a deck designated as "jogging track" but it's rather a very curvy 15 laps to a mile track. Didn't enjoy it at all. It's all the way aft on Star deck 19.

As far as steam and saunas rooms my DH used them in 2012 free of charge and said it wasn't bad.

  7. My main questions are these.

Does it ever feel over crowded?

Does embarking and disembarking run smoothly?

Which staterooms\locations are the best on this ship and why?

Which restaurants are an extra fee?

Sorry I haven't cruised with RCI since March 1997. I am overdue.

Don't get overwhelmed by her size. Sailed on her once but undoubtedly will do it again in a heartbeat. it's no different than any other ship in terms of embarkation/disembarkation and crowdedness. All specialty restaurants (you have several to choose from) charge a fee. Shows are the best any other class of ships offers so far.

We had a mid-ship balcony and enjoyed it. Many people we spoke to were happy with their boardwalk balconies - nice views of ship activities.

  8. Sorry, I should have mentioned that I am sailing Celebrity in March out of Miami. Baltimore has only smaller ships because of height restrictions under a bridge and at this point only RCCL and Carnival go out of that port. Just wondering if any other ports give security line perks. Again, thanks for any info.

I know for the fact that ports of Miami, FLL and San Juan do offer priority boarding line perk.
