  1. You’ll love the Athens Gate! Rooms are modern and updated. The views are amazing, especially from the rooftop restaurant. Sorry, I don’t remember the price of the taxi, but it wasn’t exorbitant- I would remember that.

  2. Apologies HBINLA if my post was misunderstood, I wasn't intending anything else but to take the opportunity of the confusion to explain why it's best to use full names. You see, I come across this issue quite often on the forums and I try to gradually 'educate' (lol!) my foreign friends here online so when visiting they always get exactly to where they want to go.

    No problem!

  3. My sincere apologies - I meant “Las Ramblas” which is a major street running through the center of Barcelona.

For some reason, my feeble mind typed “La Plaka” which is an area in Athens!

Sorry for the confusion. The Pulitzer Hotel IS in Barcelona.

  4. We stayed at The Pulitzer Hotel very close to the Plaka. Great hotel with superb staff.

The Picasso museum was incredible, if you enjoy that sort of thing.

    Enjoy.

Loved Barcelona. We did the same thing you are planning on doing.

  5. A couple of years ago, a kind gentleman posted a link to a website he had that showed the ocean view cabins, especially the obstructed ocean view cabins.

Searched but just can find it or something similar. If you have any information, I would appreciate you sharing!

    Thanks in advance!

  6. Has anyone been in one of the handicapped staterooms on the Royal Princess? My husband sometimes needs his wheelchair and sometimes can walk. We're thinking of either getting a handicapped balcony room or a mini suite.

Any help would be appreciated. Is the mini suite worth the money?

Handicapped room has a much better set up to accommodate maneuverability. In my opinion, much better choice.

  7. We are doing the same thing in July and booked Hotel Regina in Barcelona and Hotel Electra Palace (which we've stayed at before and loved). Both have family rooms that accommodate 4 people and both are located in central coveted locations that put you within walking distance of most sites. Hope this helps, good luck and happy travels.

Funny - I put these 2 on hold!

  8. We did The Sanctuary on the Island in Alaska. If the weather is ok, it's great. If not (inclement weather) the cabanas offer shelter and the stewards bring you whatever you want. I do recommend.

  9. Also have been on many Princess cruises, and no matter what the loyalty level, all cabins are ready right on time to board. I think it's obnoxious for other cruise lines makes you pay extra to have the room ready on time!!! And we are not talking about high end cruise lines that do this.

  10. Same as madjohn - both our cruises were longer, but it is very unlikely NYE will not be celebrated. Passengers would never allow it. Did you call Princess directly to ask? You will be fine wearing anything you would if you went to a four star resort to celebrate. Make sure you get to the atrium early to guarantee you a great spot to watch the countdown and balloon drop. You'll have a blast! Would love to know what Princess has to say. Have a great time!
