This only happened to us once and we had been tipping this guy all cruise.
This will be my first time using Cheers. Are you supposed to tip? I know I paid a gratuity when I purchased the program.

Great! Brag about scamming the system. Then you'll be annoyed when they take away the ability to "launder" gift cards.
Some have said that they were only allowed to do it once. Hope that's true.
Be careful climbing down from that high horse.
I've been sitting on $2k worth of cards for over three years now. I'm not going to just put them in the trash.

Yes. I bought cards several years ago hoping to cruise more but then my wife took a new job and we are unable to go. She uses her only vacation to visit family overseas. My parents are taking me and my sisters on a cruise and I'll use this opportunity to cash out those cards. I already used one of the cards to prepurchase Cheers.
I used the casino last time to cash out onboard credit I had. I get $100 credit every cruise for being a Carnival stockholder.

I use the casino to "launder" gift cards. I have quite a few gift cards that I've purchased at a discount from AARP and I will add them to my casino account and then pull the funds out. I don't gamble but I'll probably play a few slot to make it look good.

If you use the gift cards to fund your account at the port, or on board, and don't use it all, it'll be refunded to you via gift card.
If you move that money to the casino then I believe you can cash out later for real money.

I buy a bottle of white rum delivered to the room. I also bring an empty water bottle and fill it with the passion/guava juice served in the morning buffets. The two make great boat drinks throughout the day.

I'm taking a cruise in Feb that is already paid for. I have been sitting on $1500 worth of Carnival gift cards for a couple of years now but I haven't been able to buy my own cruise due to my wife's work schedule. (She's not going in Feb, my parent's are paying for mine). Is there a way to launder these cards through my sign and sail account? Can I cash that much out at the casino? I certainly can't drink that much, especially as I already have a $100 shareholder account credit.

Not sure but I'm saving up for it. I'll have to lie to meet the age requirement. Have you read the reviews?

Purchase First to the Fun if it is available.
-
I've bought $1700 worth in 3 separate transactions in the past month. I never had to verify the purchase. So, your mileage might vary. Yes, they did require UPS signature on delivery.

check in starts around 11, embarkation is around 11:15/11:30ish. The 12:30 to 2:30 on your edocs is just for crowd control in the terminal. Your FTTF excursion can let you board around 11 when check in begins
Many thanks!

The posted embarkation times for my cruise are 12:30 to 2:30. I have Faster to the Fun and that shows the time of the "excursion" to be 11:00 to 12:00. So, what time does embarkation really start? I don't want to arrive at 11:00 if they won't start for another hour and a half. On the other hand, I want to be onboard ASAP. This is for the Freedom out of Galveston this Sat.

They are already "fun ships". Not much of a stretch to become the funeral ships.

How much cash should I take for my family of 3? I don't want massages but I do want to snorkel. Do you have to pay for the beach chairs? Do I need to pay for anything else my 12 year old son might want to do? I don't want to take too much cash while I'm at the beach.

Does anyone know how long these typically take to ship/are received by the purchaser?
I ordered mine on Tuesday the 23rd and UPS says they will be delivered tomorrow, the 29th. Signature required for mine but maybe because I bought $1600 worth.

I am very very glad Carnival does not shoot its own fireworks. That would be reason enough for me to stop sailing.
Why would that be? I'm not disrespecting your opinion, I'm just curious why you would be against them.
-
I believe they give you a free bottle if you go on the first night.

I think too much planning and over thinking can lead to some very unrealistic expectations. When their cruise is not as perfect as they imagined it would be they are unable to adapt to the reality.
Look how often people go bananas when there is an itinerary change or a port is skipped due to weather conditions.
Well, I do plan my excursions well in advance but if those fall through then I wouldn't cry. All are refundable. I appreciate the sea days more than the ports. I cruise because I enjoy being poolside on the boat with absolutely nothing to worry about (except how fast the drink waiter can return)

If I buy a bottle of rum from the ship and drink 3/4 of it onboard will I still be charged the import tax and fee when I get off the boat if I take it home with me?
-
8 days and counting! :)
I think half of the fun has been the anticipation. I spend most of my days checking this forum, planning and thinking about the cruise. I worry that in a couple of weeks it will all be over and I won't have anything to look forward to. My work schedule is such that it is hard to plan my next cruise far in advance.

as long as its non offensive music and at a low volume it shouldn't bother anyone.
Offensive is pretty subjective. Hip hop is offensive to me but not my son. 70s rock is offensive to him but it's what I love.
I think of the cabin/balcony as a getaway from the Lido deck. I love the Lido deck but when I want to get away from it I head back to the cabin for some peace and quiet.
-
i don't know but this is best asked in the ports of call forum. This will probably get moved anyhow.
I would check the port schedule for Roatan. I just checked for my visit and fortunately, we will be the only ship in port.

May 22nd for my July 4th trip. It was initially sold out but opened up again on this date.
Sailing with non-enhanced driver's license?
in Carnival Cruise Lines

No, all are required to have a Real ID, not necessarily a driver's license. My military retiree card is considered a Real ID.
