  1. All the items already named would be great clues! Years ago I sent my son running all over the place with clues to his present - with the end result a new bike. Anyway, I put a clue (yours could be attached to one of the cruise-related gifts) in a card and handed it to him. The first clue said something like "when you get hungry you'll find a clue to the location of your gift." Then he had to figure out his next clue was in the refrigerator! The 'refrigerator' clue then directed him, in a similar manner, to other clues - under the sofa, in the bathtub, behind the TV, in the mailbox and, finally, pointed him to the garage where his new bike was located. He almost had a much fun running around trying to figure out the clues as he did when he finally hit the jackpot! Your "jackpot" gift would be the cruise documents.

  2. Good for you! Wish it was me.

I'm sure you will have a great time. Please, please, please write a detailed review when you get back to let us know all about the solo cruise experience on the Epic. I would be interested in knowing everything from room and bathroom size, storage space, information about the 'living room', arranged gatherings, dining, and how easy or difficult it was to make friends. It would be interesting to also know a little about the demographics of the other solo cruisers - approximate ages, interests, degree of mobility, etc. Additionally, since the solo rooms seem to be so spread out, what is located in the 'dead' spaces around the rooms - laundry, pantry, machinery, etc.? Noise level?

I look forward to hearing all about it, and hope you have a truly wonderful cruise.

  3. Its a 4A, but unusually shaped, so looks interesting to me anyway, thanks

I have been in the cabins on deck 6, 6393 and the one on deck 8, 8345? which should be just like yours. I was not bothered by the laundry. There was a storage closet in between me and the laundry. The cabin is wider than a regular inside .. great location being mid deck, and better than any inside to me.

two twins that can be pushed together, but much wider, so the furniture is all along the one wall, not split behind the closet and bath.

I lost most of my pictures, but maybe if you know how the furniture is in a inside, you can still see how much wider this cabin is than a inside.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your reply - and the pictures. I'll admit, though, that I am confused because the description of the room clearly said an upper and lower. However, since I'll be alone in the room, it really doesn't make much difference. I just thought that with one lower and an upper I would have more floor space. On the deck plans, the room looks larger than a regular inside room, but I truly thought it was just a distortion of some kind. Maybe not...

  4. I am currently booked as a single in cabin 7345 on the Conquest, mainly because choices of 1As were extremely limited. I haven't read all twenty-something pages of this thread, but has anybody stayed in this cabin or have any pictures? Was there noise from the laundry next door?? Any other comments??? I very much appreciate any information you may be able to provide.

  5. Thanx so much, Serene56! I have searched and can't find a picture of this cabin anywhere, nor it's dimensions. I knew I was next to elevators and stairs but didn't know I was next to the laundry room. However, I'm a fairly sound sleeper, so I don't think the laundry room will disturb me. My son and DIL have a balcony cabin across the hall, so I'll be able to get in some balcony time if I choose. 185 square feet? Wow! That's as large as the 'regular' cabins, isn't it? Since there is only a twin bed in the cabin, I may end up with more space than others in the family!

Other than a night light, is there anything else I need to bring or consider since I have an inside cabin? This will be only my second cruise but, hopefully, the second out of many, many more to come!

  6. First cruise was on Carnival Triumph last fall. A friend and I each had a balcony cabin to ourselves, which was wonderful but expensive. This fall I'm sailing on the Conquest with multiple family members, and again wanted a cabin to myself. I chose the smallest inside cabin available (a twin bed with an upper), mostly because I rarely spent time in my cabin on the last cruise. So, has anybody been in cabin #7345 on the Conquest? Viewing deck plans, it actually looks larger than surrounding cabins, but I find that hard to believe. How tiny is it? Any problems??
