Have a great cruise! We'll be cruising on the pride in a few weeks!

Ours opened when we last cruised. We actually booked an interior guarantee and ended up with the obsructed view french doors. We really liked the sunlight and the ability to open the doors.

OK, sure, I'll pop in there on Embarkation Day and snap a few pictures. And that will be my only venture into the gym, because I'm allergic to exercise. I could be using that word wrong - allergic means I really, really hate it, right?:o
That would be great, thanks! I'm so sorry about your allergy. Come to think of it...I may also suffer from this same allergy. Such a shame the only cure is pizza and Funship Specials! ;)

We're planning on doing our "usual" on GT: walking straight through Margaritaville without stopping, out to the beach, right past the big, scary sign warning you that you are leaving the nice, safe, port area:rolleyes:, and humping it down the beach to Jack's Shack.
We hope for another nice day of DIY snorkeling (we have our own gear), playing with "Topher" (the official greeter dog of JS), bobbing around in the turquoise water, eating cracked conch and other favourites, and drinking a couple mixed drinks (for me) and beers (for DH) and mocktails (for DDs).
The girls have gotten souvenirs from JS, and have seen our pictures, and have heard our stories, and they have asked to go, so they can experience it all for themselves. I don't mean to build it up too much, here. It's not an amazing beach resort or anything, just a little beach bar with OK food, decent drinks, music turned up way too loud:(:o, friendly people, and a gorgeous beach. We've seen it almost empty, where it felt like we pretty much had the place to ourselves, and also very busy. We never know what we're going to get when we go, but we think it beats Magaritaville.
We actually booked an excursion...which we don't normally do...but were wondering what to do afterwards. Maybe we will head down to Jack's Shack! I did get the coupon for the free shot of rum. LOL

I'm sorry, I forgot to answer about the gym. No, we won't be using the gym. But I don't mind popping in there and snapping a picture or asking a question of the staff. Are you just interested in knowing the types and rough number of machines, and the general layout? For that, I can snap some pictures on Embarkation Day, when it'll be empty.
Yes, that's all I'm really intersted in knowing...because, ya know. I have good intentions and all...but who knows if I'll actually go to the gym while I'm on vacation.

We just got back. We didn't use it. When I called to make reservations, the only available pickup time was 11am which was too early for us.
Okay, thanks for the info. Hope you had a great cruise!!

We park there all the time when we fly but we've never done the cruise parking. We have a cruise in a few weeks and are going to try it. We only live 10 minutes from the parking so it's convenient.

Just wondered if you already went on your cruise...if so, I hope it was great! And, can you let me know how this parking worked for you? If not, I hope your days until you cruise are in the single digits! :)

We sail on the same itinerary in October...can't wait! What will you be doing in GT? That port seems to be a mystery to us as to what to do because we don't really want to go to Margaritaville.
Will you use the gym at all? Just curious what type of things are in there.

And just to be clear, the statement credit is only for carnival purchases?

It does! You're the guru! I did eventually figure out that I'd be better off doing a statement credit.

Enjoying your tale! Glad everyone arrived home safe, which is the most important detail! [emoji4]

I'm trying to read through all these threads on using my points. Could someone walk me through how to figure out how much of a statement credit I'd get for about 70,000 points? I'm trying to figure out if it is best to use points for OBC and pre-paid tips (7 day) or just put it all on the card and use a statement credit (I can't figure out where on their website is the statement credit info). I'm sure this has been answered a million times before, so thank you in advance for putting up with another cc question. The end of summer may be affecting my brain power at this pont in time...

I just tracked the Pride online...she's already coming up near the Chesapeake.

For those that don't know: the best redemption rate possible is for a Carnival brand purchase of $1500 or more.
A statement credit of $1000 for a Carnival purchase will cost you 100,000 FPs.
A statement credit of $1500 for a Carnival purchase will cost you the same 100,000 FPs.
And I'll take a moment to once again plug RewardsBoost (I promise that I have no professional affiliation with this card or this program - I'm just a very happy customer!:)):
The RewardsBoost shopping portal is the BEST way to accrue FPs FAST!
I just "cashed in" for the fifth time since getting this card in 2005. This time, I cashed in 177,819 FPs for a statement credit of $2,667.28 (the total amount of this particular Carnival purchase, thus the non-rounded numbers;)). It took me less than a year and a 1/2 to accumulate that 177,819 through using RB wisely. The points multipliers I get from RB make the double points from Carnival purchases seem tiny by comparison. I never bought anything I wasn't going to buy anyway, and I never paid more for any item than I otherwise would have, just to get extra points this way. Usually, I paid less, especially with free shipping to my front door from most stores.:)
If you have this credit card and haven't looked into RewardsBoost yet, do yourself a favour and check it out!;)
OK, unpaid advertisement over.:o
Is the RewardsBoost on the website? I'm having trouble finding it this morning. It could be the humidity affecting me...or my lack of coffee.

I love this review! I really hope that someday I get to do a long cruise, like this one...and Europe would be great too!
Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad in January of 2015. Its hard some days, isn't it?
-
Yes, but it's just a formality. You are allowed to come at your leisure whenever you want.
Thanks - I went online and chose a time just to be on the safe side.
-
If you have FTTF do you need to pick a time?
-
Thanks for posting! Looking forward to this itinerary in October 2016!
-
I'm loving this! Thanks so much for posting!
-
Great review, and I love the shirts! Would be nice to offer something like that on our roll call!
-
Ladies...love both of the dresses! Absolutely fabulous!

High five! I'm in! Can't wait to read the rest of your review! :D
Review: Vision of the Seas- Headed South For Spring Break! Was My Wife Right Yet Again?
in Royal Caribbean International

Following along, as someone else mentioned...Vision is sailing out of Baltimore and we're interested to know all about it, since we always seem to sail from Baltimore. Next cruise we will be traveling with a 13 yr old...just wondered if your girls ever utilized the teen center or if you have any info on that? Disappointing to hear about the food...but your cabin looks like a win for sure!
