We're considering a Med. cruise in 2024 on Oosterdam. I've been reading reviews and quite frankly, I'm horrified. Food/beverages unavailable, toilets backing up, leaks, mold, broken thermostats that can't be fixed for the entire cruise, badly soiled soft goods, missed ports, chaos during embarking/disembarking. Review after review. I think we'll look elsewhere.

Where are these reviews? I'm on the Oosterdam this July and have been following CC for information, as we have never sailed HAL, I've not noticed anything to alarm me.

  2. UPDATED: What if I don't get my test results back in time?

All guests ages five and older must produce a negative viral COVID-19 test taken before embarkation on all Princess sailings.

We understand that it may be difficult for some of our guests to find testing that can provide results within a tight turnaround. Accordingly, for fully vaccinated guests who can show proof of testing within the three-day window but did not receive their test results back in time. Princess will provide complimentary testing at or near the terminal on the day of your cruise departure.

Guests who test positive for COVID-19 will be denied boarding, together with their family members and close contacts, may be required to quarantine shoreside and may be restricted from commercial air travel. If you, your family members, travel companions or other close contacts are suspected of having COVID-19 and are denied boarding, you will be entitled to a 100% Future Cruise Credit (FCC).

Thanks, we were looking at the middle section with the angled balconies but I didn’t fancy sitting under the sea walk.

The sea walk was redesigned on the sky so looking down onto the angled balconies is not easy. Also may I add hardly anyone walks across the skywalk a complete waste of time in my opinion. As has been said balconies on the sky are mostly pathetically small so the angled balconies offer a nice bit of extra space.

The amount of stress expressed here ref passengers potentially getting covid is amazing to me.  You would think covid was like cancer.  It isn't.  It is like getting the flu for most people.  It is easy to get even if vaccinated.  We all have a choice, we either stay home or accept the risk and stop complaining.  Cruise lines are doing what they can.  Best we can do is wear a mask in public areas, avoid crowds if we decide to cruise.

    Totally agree

There  are no fewer than 23 St Petersburg excursions available to book on our May 29th sailing?

We are also on the May 29th cruise. First time with Royal Caribbean and first baltic cruise we will probably book our excursions with RC. Have you any tips for RC newbies we are travelling with our youngest son who will be 18.

  6. Since a third of the the plus fare is the premium drinks package it is quite obvious that it does not benefit non drinkers. However myself on sea days as a minimum I will have 3 beers in the morning, a glass of wine with lunch, 3 beers in the afternoon, a pre-dinner beer, two glasses of wine and a beer with dinner and a couple of shorts for the theatre. £30 per day with wifi and tips is a bargain.
