  1. SHIP: Eclipse

    CABIN #: 7356

    DECK #: 7

    CLASS: Sky Suite

    AREA: Starboard aft corner

    BED NEAR: Middle

    QUIET?: Exceptionally quiet

BALCONY VIEW: Wonderful view of the wake

    BALCONY SIZE: Good size

    WIND A PROBLEM?: No

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Plenty of space for us, with good storage. Loved having a bath. Although it is quite a long walk to the lifts we didn't mind this as we needed the exercise. Would certainly have no hesitation booking this cabin again.

  2. SHIP & YEAR OF CRUISE: Infinity (2014)

    CABIN #: 9106

    DECK #: 9

    CLASS: A2

    AREA: mid-ship

    BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Yes, although did hear muffled footsteps from above a couple of times, nothing intrusive and only during the day.

    BALCONY VIEW: Wonderful

    BALCONY SIZE: Normal

    WIND A PROBLEM?: No

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: I could smell a slight odour in the bathroom although my DH didn't. Lovely cabin, great stewards, good location, would have no hesitation booking this one again.

  3. My DH and I were in cabin 1610 in 2012 and it was in a great location.

We were never disturbed by music from the pool deck, either in our cabin or on our balcony.

Our oversized balcony was a bonus that we enjoyed and wind definitely wasn't a problem. The balcony is covered by the overhang above, which we like.

We would have no hesitation in booking either of the cabins you have chosen.

    Hope this helps.

    Christine

  4. Poor customer service is never acceptable but I am pleased to say that my experience of Celebrity UK has been excellent and the ladies I have spoken to recently have been very helpful.

It is possible to upgrade from the 'free' Classic Beverage Package to the Premium one but you need to wait until it shows up on your booking confirmation invoice, which takes a few weeks and is done in the USA. Once this has been done you can upgrade via the UK enhancement office, tel: 08444 936207, option 2.

  5. Below is email I received this evening

    Many thanks for your email.

Yes the prices will be going up.

However should you wish to pre pay the upgrade cost of £106.26 per person.

Since there are a number of bookings in your name, I believe I have found

your booking reference. I have put on hold the upgrade for the two of you.

If you wish to proceed please can you call on 08444936207 and it can be

    confirmed and paid for.

I hope this helps you with your pre cruise planning.

    Kind Regards

Another thank you, for supplying the phone number. :)

  6. Update for all you Brits that are looking to upgrade your classic to premium package......

After reading the threads, went to upgrade for our 20th October Sailing and was told outright no by the lady on the phone, I kindly asked if I could be put through to enhancements and got to speak to Dorothy and within 5 mins had upgraded both myself and partner to the package at the $11.50 rate.

I was also asked if it was for just one or both of us. It is already showing on My Celebrity so has gone through.

Moral of the story, do not take the initial no for an answer.

Thank you very much, I will be on the phone tomorrow to upgrade ours. :)

  7. Deck - 11

    Cabin # - 1610

    Class – Aqua

Starboard or Port Side - Starbord

Bed near? (balcony or bath) – Bath

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems) – I had been worried about this cabin as another review stated there had been a noise problem but we experienced absolutely no disturbing noise at all.

    Balcony View - Great view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized, the biggest on the angle facing forward. It was the same width but deeper than normal balconies and not dark or tunnel like as we feared from seeing a picture posted on another thread.

    Was wind a problem? No

Any specific problems with this cabin? We loved it and would definitely book it again.

  8. (BTW - thanks for all the advice I've gotten about our Alaskan cruise that we will be taking in 2013 (should be booking in May 2012 or as soon as the bookings open up) - I've still got questions and I'm sure CC will have the answers!)

We are thinking Alaska will be our 2013 destination and will probably book when we are on the Eclipse next June.

    Love this thread.....I'm not alone!

    You certainly are not....me too!

  9. I had a problem with swollen ankles after a very long day walking around Rome! They were still swollen considerably the next morning so I stayed onboard whilst DH went ashore.

I knew there would be a spa treatment that would help and treated myself to a lovely relaxing sea salt leg massage.

After my treatment my feet and legs felt so much better and the oedema had reduced, then came the sales pitch! The therapist was very pleasant and professional but she proceeded to try and sell me 4 different products. I did succumb to the tube of Aloe Vera gel, which I used twice and is now in the bathroom cupboard.

My treatment and the one product I felt compelled to buy cost me $118!!

The therapist then led me up to the gym for an assessment on how much fluid my body is retaining!! One of the gym personnel hooked me up to a machine and told me the results revealed I would need 9 months treatment to get rid of it. The total cost of this, which turned out to be dietary supplements containing seaweed, was over £500. Being a nurse I was very sceptical and found it really hard to say 'no thank you'.

  10. I am so envious, you are where I would like to be, especially today as it is pouring with rain.

Your posts and video's are thoroughly enjoyable and bring back some lovely recent memories. My DH and I are counting down the days to our 2nd cruise on the Eclipse, only another 343 to go!

What a lovely family you are too.

  11. Before we departed we pondered this question of drinks packages and read many reviews. Should we have one and if so which one?? We finally settled on a premium alcohol package for both of us at a cost of £974, which did seem a lot to pay especially as I don't drink much alcohol. Our conclusion is that it worked for us. We liked being able to order what we wanted, when we wanted, without having to think about the cost anymore. Having discovered the delights of the Martini bar I think my hubby did both our packages justice!

  12. Ship: Eclipse

    Cabin #: 1569

    Deck #: 11

    Class: Aqua

    Area: Midship

    Bed near: Balcony

Quiet?: On some mornings there was noise from above at 6.30am, one morning was very bad.. I mentioned this to the housekeeping officer and was very impressed when he phoned me within half an hour to tell me we were below a galley and he would ensure they were notified. There was no noise for the next couple of days but every 2 or 3 days we heard the dragging of furniture. I also had phone calls from customer relations asking if we were still being disturbed. Our cabin steward also asked us each morning if there had been noise. Other than that and a rather loud American next door, who thought the whole ship wanted to hear his business phone call each evening, it was a very quiet cabin.

    Balcony view: Unobstructed

    Balcony size: Normal

    Wind a problem?: None

    Soot a problem?: None

Problems/comments: This was our first ever cruise and we loved it, especially Blu.
