  1. We're going to Bermuda on the Norwegian Dawn in 2 weeks and would like to see the island on mopeds. The only companies I see are Oleander and Elbow Beach. Anyone here have experience with either company? Which is easier for pick up / drop off? My brother in law saw the island by moped 42 years ago on his honeymoon and wants to do this again...

I'm open to other helpful comments or concerns. We are the 2 adventurous ones in the family. :-)

Also, if we get a whole day rental, can we go from beach to beach and park there? That was my thought, but now I'm wondering if that's possible at most beaches.

  2. How is the snorkeling in Bermuda? I see snorkel excursions, but see few reviews. We'll be there the first week in September and hope to do a sail / snorkel excursion and explore shore snorkeling.

Any suggestions for excursions & beaches to check out? Places to avoid? We've snorkeled quite a bit in Mexico/Western Caribbean, but it's my first time to Bermuda.

  3. 2 years ago we drove in from KY, so were coming in from the east and stayed at the Super 8 with a park and cruise package (it was at least 20 minutes+ from downtown). It was in a rough part of town, but since we were not walking around, and it had good enough looking security (walls, opening/closing gates) I was fine with it. The hotel was older, but clean, and breakfast was better than most Super 8 motels. Very good value.

    It's worth looking into.

  4. We'll be in Aruba on 10/7 from 1-10pm with our teenagers. We plan to go to a beach or 2 in the afternoon, but wondered what to do after 6:30 or so when it gets dark.

Is it a fun and safe place to walk around? Any different or really good street vendor food, casual restaurants, or things to see? We're not looking for clubs, big-time shopping or fancy restaurants.

  5. Bump. I'd like to know, too, but have never heard of a bus going there. We were told we'd need to take a taxi there, maybe $15? I read somewhere here it's just about a 5 minute walk past Sunset House Diving. We plan to go the first week in March. Our plan is to get a taxi to Smith Cove, then walk back to Sunset and get a cab back to our RC tender from there. Supposedly it's rare to get a taxi back from Smith Cove, so we need a backup plan if we don't want to walk 25 minutes or so w/out a sidewalk.

If anyone reads this and knows it won't work, please respond. :)
