I am unfamiliar with MTD as I've always done the early traditional dining. I booked a cruise on May 1, 2016 on Serenade of the Seas that sails on January 12, 2017. This will be a mother-daughter cruise, and a surprise for my daughter who knows nothing yet. We have been on a couple of other cruises and always have a blast! This time will be different because she has been going through cancer & a myriad of other medical issues.

One of our favorite times on the ship is the traditional dining, getting to know your tablemates & making lasting friendships. When I initially booked the cruise, I asked if she could put us down for early dining and she indicated I should call back as she was unable to access that information. I called back in June and was then told the traditional dining is filled and we have to do MTD. The cruise is 7 months away!! How does that happen? I realize many people prefer MTD, but we are just the opposite. I am more than disheartened and, had I been told that upfront, I would have made a different choice of ship. GO PACK GO!
