We'll be taking our first RC cruise in 20 days...this thread has helped get me into the mood. It's only for four days, and I liked the idea of taking along a printout of the deck plan since it always takes me a couple of days to find my way around. On a short cruise, knowing the layout of the ship will help.
Whew! This was a long thread. Guess you know I didn't get much done today in the house. I already have my homework cutout for me as I already printed the decks on NOS. Don't like looking at the ships picture by the elevator. :)
Any idea how to find 'mini' versions of deck plans, versus printing out individual pages for each deck ?[/quote)Go to cruisedeckplans.
I wonder why more people don't take the stairs? When we are on a cruise and with the extra food etc we make it a habit of avoiding elevators at all costs. I know that there are people that can't take the stairs but looking around at some of our fellow cruisers I think that more should be using the stairs and skipping the elevators.
A floor on a ship is not the same as a floor on land. When you walk up 5 floors on a ship it about equivalent of 3 or so in a building on land.
And remember that walking "down" is easy going, leave the elevators for people who need them.
I don't agree. I have a 2-story house and to go upstairs is 15 steps and then I am on the second floor. On Carnival Conquest, you go up 7 stairs, then make a quick turn and up 7 more stairs and then you are on the next deck. I counted when I was on the ship last month as I had to use the stairs a lot because of people like one poster who holds the floor and close button at one time. It was a nightmare getting an elevator to stop on Deck 7.

Will NOS have the new menu in February 2013? Gives them 6 months to do the change. :)

Not cruising until Feb. 2013, but we have a Disney World and Vegas trip scheduled before that so it won't seem so long.:p

I just got off the conquest 3 weeks ago and did not find itoverly crowded for me. We were always able to get a table on the Lido and believe me, I am m not an early riser. I will admit my first cruise was on the Inspiration and I would love to go on that one again. I did like that one better.

I would be totally miserable :(. But at least this would be one cruise I would come home a winner :).

Fantastic review. Enjoyed it very much. :)

I absolutely love this thread. Only one thing I didn't find. My ship (Conquest) is just about sold out, yet I don't see any 8C balcony pictures. Anyone have them, please show. Thanks. :) I will admit, I sure do love those aftwrap balconies or maybe the owner's suite .

Always. :)

Enjoyed your pictures. The Inspiration was the first ship I went on. Frankly, I liked it better than the Conquest. Wish it was back here in NOLA. Cute kids. :)
-
Sounds like you are a winner to me :).

This will be my 2nd time on the Conquest. It is convenient for me, no flying to get to the ship. If I had to fly to get there, I would then pick another ship. When the Inspiration was in New Orleans way back in 2000, I cruised on that one. Sometimes a RCC or Norwegian will be here, but never at the time I am planning to cruise. I do wish they had other ships to try.

OP - Jeez......................you have been a busy little bee. Thanks. Nice job :).

Bungee cord to keep balcony door open...AND sunscreen.
I have never had a balcony, but will have one this time. How come the door is so hard to stay open? Where do you buy this bungee chord?

I emailed a few months ago (cruising in July) and I got a pretty quick response (2 or 3 days). I am only entitled to a box of candy which will be in my cabin when I cruise :).

None of the ship's casinos are like being in Vegas....
You got that right!

Anyone know of cabin 7356 on the Conquest?

Conquest - How much is a glass of wine or a beer including tip?

Best suggestion i have ever heard!
Just for fun: your ship name "of the seas"
in Royal Caribbean International

Almost spit out my coffee when I saw Alcohol of the Seas . That seems to be true. Also, Glutton of the Seas and Obsession of the Seas. Seems like everyone on these boards are really obsessed with cruising. Plus there is a lot of eating and drinking on a cruise. Perfect names. :p:eek: I would pick Obsession of the Seas.
