  1. Does anyone know which terminal out of Miami the Disney Wonder would be docked? I am working on shuttle service from there to the airport and need to know the terminal. I tried to google it and there are several terminals at the port of Miami. Any help would be great. TIA

UPDATED to say that I found the info needed. Thanks.

  2. The only "dress code" is "no swimwear or tank tops at dinner".

Typically, most days are "cruise casual". There is also a Pirate night (but you can wear cruise casual for that day, also. And either a "Dress Up Optional" or, possibly a "semi-formal" night. However, at dinner in the MDRs you see all manner of dress from dressy, to shorts and tshirts (any night).

Gratuities are $12.00 per guest (each person in your room is a guest) per night. So for a 5 night cruise each person in your room is suggested to pay $60.00 for the gratuities. That $12.00 breaks out to $4.00 per guest per night to your room host; $4.00 per guest per night to your dining room server; $3.00 per guest per night to your assistant server; and $1.00 per guest per night to your head server.

Thank you so much for the info. I thought that the dress code was cruise casual but wanted to be sure that I read that right. And yes, I knew about the pirate night. Thanks again for all the info.

  3. Anyone know what the dress code is for the Wonder for a 5 night cruise? The DCL website just mentions 3,4 and 7 nights. I'm going to guess that the 5 night would fall under the 4 night but not sure. If anyone here knows, that would be great.

Also, same with the gratuity for a 5 night cruise? Again the suggested amount listed on the website is for 3,4 or 7 nights.

    TIA

  4. Directions to the "secret decks"?

The Valor has "secret decks" on decks 5, 6 ,7 and 10

You would walk on any of those decks all the way to the front of the ship and go thru the door that leads to the outside and you're there. It can get very windy out there, so be sure to hold on to hats, sunglasses, towels, etc.

  5. $100 credit? It was $200 credit pp when we booked ;) $602 paid inc tax. $400 credit :) call them!!!!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

How did you get $200 credit per person? We are going on the Ruby in December and they are only giving us $100 credit total. Would be awesome to get more credit.

  6. 1. I don't have any patters, so I cannot help you with your first question.

    2. You make reservations for specialty restaurants after you board the ship.

    3. We have parked at Park N Go, an offsite parking facility and found it to be reliable and reasonable. It is much less expensive than parking at the port itself. We learned about it from Cruise Critic! If you book online it is cheaper than waiting until you arrive at the facility.

Thank you for your quick reply. I will look into the off site parking. Yes any money we can save on parking is better that's for sure.

  7. Hello,

We are going on the Ruby Princess in December 13-20. I have a few questions:

1.) I was wondering if anyone has any of the princess patters that they could either post here or email them to me? If you can email them to me, please send me a message and I will send you my email.

2.) How do we sign up for the specialty restaurants online? Or do we just sign up once we are onboard?

3.) We are going out of Ft. Lauderdale and will be driving, Is it better to park at the cruise terminal or park off site at a local park n cruise type lot?

Any other info that anyone can give, would be great.

    Thanks in advance

  8. I just wanted to be sure I read on the RCI website correct....

We will NOT need passports if leaving out of New Orleans and going to the following ports: Key West, Fl.; Cococay, Bahamas; and Nassau, Bahamas, right?

I don't want us to get to the port in NOLA and they say we have to have them. 3 out of 4 of us have passports but was trying to not have to spend the money to get one for our son if he doesn't need it.

Any help with this would be great.

    Thanks in advanced!

  9. Hi everyone,

We are new to RC and was wondering the following questions:

1.) What hotels do you recommend near the port of New Orleans?

2.) If we drive there, is it better to park at the port and pay their fee or will hotels allow us to keep our car in their lot if we stay at both ends of the cruise?

3.) Has anyone ever taken a rum runner in their luggage and it make it to the stateroom?

4.) Can we take bottled water on the ship with us when we board?

Thanks in advanced.. (I will probably have more questions as it gets closer)

  10. Thank you for sharing this amazing video. We are going to be in the Southern Caribbean on the Carnival Valor next week. So this video came at the right time. Gave us something to watch and are now really looking forward to our cruise. And like the others said, this should be the new Carnival video!!

    Thanks again!!

  11. Thanks for reading! Yeah, it's pretty long. :o Took me about 2 weeks to finish it. I really do wish I could figure out a way to get paid to write these, or at the least get a free vacation out of it! :D I'm glad you got some good ideas for your cruise. Have fun when you sail in July!

Yes, you can wear shorts in the MDR, just not on formal night.

    Yep, what he said!

    ok great, thank you! :-)

  12. Hi gapearl, I posted this as a regular thread and thought I would post here too. I am hoping you could answer this for me. Thanks!

For those recently off of the Valor (San Juan Itinerary)... Can shorts be worn in the dining room on the casual nights? I read on the carnival site that they say "dress shorts". Can any type of shorts be ok (as long as they aren't too short of course)? Our daughter is trying to figure out what kinds of clothes to pack and was wondering. We have been on other cruise lines recently and think we saw others wearing any type of shorts in the dining room, but we also know that each cruise line has their own "rules".

    Any help would be great.

    Thank you!

  13. Here is our door from a Disney Cruise we took in July of 2011 on the Disney Magic. I made most of these with my cricut machine and then I laminated them. I added our cabin number on the front of each, just incase someone were to try to take them. I read on here somewhere to do that as people wouldn't want it if it has the cabin number on the front. I am in the process of making more for our upcoming cruise on the valor as it's our daughter's college graduation cruise.

  14. GAPearl, So this Rum Punch is at the Duty Free shop in San Juan or is it in Barbados? And is it in either of those places that seems pretty easy to get it through to our cabins? I've never had it, but it looks yummy, so I will want to find a bottle of it :-)

Thanks for any help. and thanks again for your review. I am really enjoying it and have taken notes for our upcoming cruise on the Valor!!
