We did the 9 day Yukon and Denali trip 2 years ago. Had no issue with doing laundry in Dawson City. We did not do the meal plan and did not regret it. Dawson City is an easy place to walk to grocery store or restaurants. We liked having options for eating and getting away from the crowds. Denali Lodge is on a steep hill so walking to other places outside of the lodge area may be challenging for some. Princess Lodge was next door and had several eating options and then across the highway were several restaurants. There is reliable mini-bus transportation to get around.
This was very helpful. Thanks. Any other recommendations on things to do or avoid?

Thank you. Any helpful hints or you’re not to be missed?

We are leaving on August 14, 2024 from Vancouver. I could not find a roll call? Two questions for those who have done this trip.
For those who did laundry at the hotels, was it a crazy wait? Did you have time?Second, is the meal package worth it or do you wish you had other options?
thank you

We rented a car (easy) and did a DIY tour. We were able to go at our own pace and spend as much time at the falls and other sites we were able to get to on that day.
Hi. We will be renting a car this June. Was it easy to get around? We want to go Lake Myvatn. Did you drive to a specific area or just around the lake? Thanks!

After browsing through the excellent Copenhagen thread I thought about starting one for Iceland as well:
I'm a regular cruiser that lives in Reykjavik, Iceland and not affiliated with any tour companies. So if you have any questions about the Icelandic ports of call and surrounding attractions feel free to ask.
Main port: Reykjavik (Capital).
Secondary ports: Akureyri (largest town in the north of Iceland), Seydisfjordur (a small town on the east coast) and Isafjordur (a town in the rugged northwestern part of Iceland).
Hi. We will be in Akureyri for one day. We are thinking of renting a car to drive to the waterfall and lake. We have about 7 hours. Is this doable? If we pass on the rental car, is there public transportation to get to the Gooafoss waterfall? Thank you so much!
