  1. Thanks!

NO, we are not over budget. However, we only booked our cruise a few weeks ago and they have been sending endless e-mails for us to sign up for the NCL MasterCard so we'd "enjoy a $150 onboard credit". Well, we opened the card early this month and immediately charged our shore excursions.

I looked online and our first statement won't "cut" until we are back from the cruise and there is nothing posted for points (I wouldn't expect that until the first statement)

It just disappointing to open this card (which I didn't need) to get $150 savings on THIS cruise that I now won't be getting. I can't ask for a $150 credit when my account won't show points until we're home.

Yes, there seem to be ways to request cash that I can apply toward the balance or a gift card (of about $100 with 15,000 points) but that is just now how I understood. I was certain I got the card, I purchase our excursions, they later credit the CARD with $150. I seemed to have missed the whole "must be used onboard during the cruise" part of I would have realized there was no time.

    Sad.

Once the points post to your account you can use them to get cash back as a statement credit on your account, even after the cruise. You do not have to earn the points on board. You do not have to be on board to get a statement credit you can request it anytime once the points show up on your statement.
