  1. Was on it..."propulsion issues and weather" claims the voice over the intercom. I didn't witness any "weather" so not real sure on the true issue for delaying. Great cruise, crew, and ship nonetheless.

Thanks for the reply. we will be on her Dec 7 so had some concern,, love that ship!

  2. He works in the cruise terminal in Tampa. He makes the announcements in the terminal....look for him next time you cruise out of Tampa. I waved to him when I was there and wasn't sure if he saw me or not...he probably tried to hide from me ;):p

Thanks for the reply. Paradise is my favorite ship so enjoy reading trip reports, especially with the pictures.:)

  3. As noted by Captain Carnival, you could do it all at once, but that'll give you at least an hour, and probably way more, sitting in the terminal. :( If it were me, I'd have the daughter call when she gets off the ship, take her home, and return for a leisurely boarding process to the ship. No Problem Mon. ;)

    "SKY"

DITTO - That's exactly what I would recommend.

  4. i have seen many more positive changes in cruising over the years than i have seen negative and what many consider cutbacks i look at as good riddance to outdated and old-fashioned.

Cruising is now affordable to a great cross section of people, especially to younger families looking for a vacation that will appeal to all family members. Gone are the mostly sedentary activities...skeet shooting, shuffle board, bridge to be replaced with mini golf, basketball, running tracks, exercise equipment, hot tubs, water slides, rope courses.

Gone are the restrictive meal sittings where you showed up or you went hungry. Now you have options to eat 24/7. Gone are minuscule cabins with beds bolted to the walls or floors and a bathroom that rivaled any beat up travel trailer to be replaced with king size beds, desks, a couch, balconies, a tv in the room.

Gone are the "all inclusive" aspects...which means people who don't drink alcohol aren't forced to pay for it via their fare charges. Mostly gone are the formal nights with its outdated ball gowns and tuxes and people playing the part as though they were first class passengers on the titanic. Now cruising is much more casual to fit into our 21st century lifestyles.

Slowly going is the psuedo "class" system where people are rewarded for having the time to travel not for spending and increasing the economics of a cruise line so they can keep fares affordable for everyone. Now more emphasis is placed on families, activities for the kids, better facilities at ports of call.

I am glad many of the, what i deem, silly things of a bygone era are gone or slowly going. I want to cruise to have a vacation "destination" where my whole family can go...from my great grand kiddies to my geriatric aunt who still dances up a storm at the evening activities. We could care less about a free bottle of water, a pin, chocolates on our pillow, priority boarding, a "party" with a few drinks. Cruising is affordable so it allows us to buy that bottle of water, have an occasional glass of wine with dinner, pay for a few excursions, have a fru-fru coffee once in a while.

    amen!!!

  5. I am gold and did like going to the party, but do agree it was way too large and, therefore, not very special anymore. What would make me feel special would be a drink handed to me as I entered the ship, just as if I were a guest at a house party. One could just flash your seapass showing your tier and a hostess at the door could greet you with a smile and say, "Welcome aboard, we're glad to see you again."., and hand you your drink! That would make me feel appreciated and get me in the cruising frame of mind!

    :D

  6. Carnival's website shows sailings for Paradise through April 29th of 2017. So we have her for at least another 2 years, according to current plans.

I love Paradise too. Great ship for 4 and 5 nighters. I would even take her or another Fantasy class ship on a 7 nighter if the itinerary was great, allowing me to go to some different ports.

Paradise was great. Got an unbelievable rate early in Dec of 2014. I liked the nautical theme of the ship. Very nice cruise.

Actually, the fantasy class are my favorites, love the layout and the fact that they fit under the bridge! PS - Glad we will have her for a while, I feel very at home while on that ship - sometimes rested when we get back on land again. (I hope I'm posting this right)!

    :o

  7. :confused:I'm waiting "patiently" for information on Tampa ships. The Paradise is one of my favorite ships for short get aways and I'm hoping she stays right where she is. Anyone hear anything yet?

    :cool::):rolleyes::o

Thanks for the reply, I went to his facebook page and saw what you saw - I couldn't see if it was the Miracle or not, but it does look hopeful. We live near Tampa and love going under the Skyway bridge so did recognize that!

  8. Sorry to say that they aren't available on Paradise. I had them for the first time on Liberty and it was disappointing to go back to the regular Carnival burgers on the Inspiration.

Aww! I am so sorry to hear that. Thanks for your reply. Guess I'll have to keep booking, sooner or later l'll find my quest!
