  1. So happy to see your postings as my daughter and son in law are on the cruise too...she's 30 and he's 33 so they may be the youngest. Look out for them ...she's got a mass of long curly hair and he's a big guy...they're an interracial couple so easy to spot :). Say hi and send my love if you see them. Sounds like everything is fabulous so far! Glad the seas are calm. Really enjoying your postings ...thank you!

  2. The ceremony was in the Reflection Lounge.... 43 people total. We worked with TWE and had a gorgeous wedding canopy set up beneath the skylight, fabulous fresh flower arrangements in front of the canopy on either side, an aisle with rose petals and the chairs set up angled on either side. The lighting was absolutely spectacular. The Ceremony took place at 7 pm night of embarkation. Then we all headed to the Tuscan Grille for an incredible meal with DJ and small dance area. We did a table plan and worked with the maître d re table set up etc., having bought out the restaurant for the night. The best thing we did was board the ship a few weeks before and meet with the maître d. Well worth the cost and was arranged through TWE. The ship' staff/crew were amazing and the wedding absolutely everything my daughter hoped it would be, and some!

  3. Congrats!!

Great to hear you loved it. We're trying to decide which cruise we wanna get married on (March 2015). Constellation is on our list. Searching for more info :)

I'm canesgirl's mother; she's on her honeymoon onboard the Eclipse. Feel free to ask any questions. If you want the name of our travel agent who arranged all the cabins and who helped so much with many aspects of the wedding and reception, let me know. She managed to get a few "exceptions" granted and is very efficient. We would highly recommend getting married on the Constellation!

  4. Just to let you know that my daughter got married on the Celebrity Constellation a month ago. It was a four night cruise leaving on a Thursday so very convenient for guests not having to take a week off of work. It was a symbolic wedding in so far as we brought a rabbi onboard with us to perform the ceremony but he signed the wedding certificate/license prior to the ship leaving the port. However the ceremony was just a few hours later on the night of embarkation. The Wedding Experience (the company who Celebrity outsources to) did a fantastic job of setting up a gorgeous wedding canopy, exquisite flowers, aisle with rose petals and the lighting guy did the most spectacular lighting for the ceremony. We bought out the Tuscan Grille for a cocktail hour with pass round appetizers and then a full dinner. We hired a DJ for the entire evening, who was fantastic. The maître d of the Tuscan Grille arranged the tables to allow for a dance area. There we're a total of 43 guests and bridal party and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We used a very experienced travel agent who worked closely with the groups department and has done weddings on both Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. I'll try to answer any questions you have.

  5. I have read on cruise critic that the girls in the store that sells make up and perfumes will do it for you and if they don't charge, I'd give them a nice tip. Probably have to arrange it when you get onboard. I've never checked whether they do it or not in the spa. I'm going on the constellation next week and will ask and post on my return. My daughter is getting married on the constellation on the night of embarkation so we are getting our make up done before we board.... Hope it lasts till 7 pm!

Any wedding related questions you have, I'll try to answer....

    Congratulations!

  6. We are taking a rabbi onboard and he is marrying our daughter and fiancé on the ship. From what I understand if the ceremony is done while in a US port where the minister is licensed it's fine. If it's at sea or somewhere the minister is not licensed, then it's a symbolic ceremony and the marriage license has to be signed beforehand. No one need know its a symbolic ceremony.

  7. Has your daughter gotten her location yet? We are getting married on 02/16/14 and have yet to get our time/location. Our coordinator has been great though :)

Yes, we requested the Reflections Lounge and it was confirmed. Are you getting married on the Constellation? I think we have "spoken" before on cruisecritic and i told you about buying out the Tuscan Grille. Did you spend a day on the ship? That was invaluable and we ironed out the remaining details... More or less ... Well good luck ! You must be very excited. How many sailing with you? Are you having music during dinner?

  8. Hi my daughter is getting married on the celebrity constellation on February 27th 2014 ... 2 1/2 weeks time. We are taking a rabbi onboard. Andrea at The Wedding Experience has been wonderful and we have a terrific travel agent. She is truly amazing and has worked on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean weddings before. You have to work with either celebrity's group department or use a travel agent to work with the groups department. Putting a group and a wedding together is quite complicated and time consuming and our travel agent worked hard to get us what we wanted and some great perks too. I thoroughly recommend her. If you'd like to email me at gillyelf@gmail.com I'd be happy to answer any questions and give you my tel number. It has not been a stressful time at all although the bride has to realize that there are things that cannot be controlled and has to be prepared to go with the flow to a certain extent. My daughter is the opposite of a bridezilla and just wants to marry the man of her dreams on a beautiful ship in the middle of the ocean

  9. Hello again, her wedding is after your wedding ... the ship sails on Thursday, February 27th and the ceremony is actually the night of embarkation... 7:00 pm (hopefully all the guests will have their luggage/wedding attire or perhaps they should carry it on!). We are bringing a rabbi onboard who will be performing a "symbolic ceremony" as, by then, the ship will be at sea. They will actually get the official FL Marriage License signed either the night before or that morning while the ship is in dock. I can't believe you have such a big crowd sailing with you... how wonderful. My daugther wanted to keep it small, immediate family and their closest friends... so I doubt we will be more than 50 at the very most.

Do you intend to allow your guests to order from the entire drinks menu during dinner? Or will they be paying for their own drinks? We have to pay a drinks minimum as we bought out the restaurant but don't want to give the guests the regular wine menu as we would have no control over what is ordered. That's why I was looking for a copy of the menu so we could put together a limited "menu", which TWE will print (at a cost) and better keep track of what is being ordered.

We live in Boca Raton, my daughter and her fiance live in Aventura.

  10. CCMS14 - Your wedding might be before my daughter's. What date is yours? Are you getting married day of embarkation or during the cruise. Are 60 people sailing with you? Is the captain marrying you? I'm glad you're having a good experience with TWE... we had our reservations at first due to some reviews, but they've been really great. May be you should swap ideas with my daughter. She's currently choosing her bouquet and flower arrangements etc.

  11. Thank you all so much for your help, input and good wishes.

CCMS14 - We worked with our travel agent who is handling the group booking to buy out the Tuscan Grille. Celebrity told us they usually serve 100 people on the first night so we had to pay 100 people's cover charge even though our group is probably maximum 50 people. Our travel agent managed to get us a small discount. We also had to pay a drinks minimum. We just figured it was worth the money to have the restaurant all to ourselves. When are you getting married? Which ship? Are you working with TWE? We have found them to be amazing so far :)

rubens and Lsimon - thanks for sending the lists. We want to put together a limited wine/champagne menu rather than allow the guests to choose from the entire list. That way we can somewhat keep a check on cost. Don't want people ordering $700 bottles of champagne lol.

Welland - we are working with both TWE (The Wedding Experience who Celebrity outsource weddings to) and our travel agent and both have requested the wine/champagne menu but so far it hasn't been forthcoming. So I thought I'd ask the great people on cruisecritic to help and they have :)

Thanks again everyone :) and happy sailing.

  12. I wonder if someone would do me a huge favour. My daughter is getting married on the Constellation in February 2014 and the reception/dinner is going to be in the Tuscan Grille (we have bought out the restaurant for the entire evening). Because there is no bar in the Tuscan Grille, we are having to put together a limited drinks menu which will include a red, white and rose wine, prosecco and champagne (as well as cocktails, spirits etc). We need a full list of the wines/champagne available in the Tuscan Grille. If anyone has the chance and would be kind enough, could you please photograph the menu and e-mail it to me after your trip ... gillyelf at gmail.com (gillyelf@gmail.com). Thank you so much.
