New to NCL (prior Royal cruiser). Was hoping someone could explain the difference between a mini-suite (balcony) and a regular balcony stateroom on Epic. I’ve looked at the website, but don’t see much difference so thought perhaps I’m just missing something.

We've been on both Allure and Oasis. Other posters are correct - they are very similar ships. However, we believe the ships have a different 'vibe'. Whether this is due to the crew or something else....not certain. That being said, we preferred Oasis. Would certainly do Allure again, but love Oasis.

Enjoy whichever you choose. They are both incredible.

If you are not in a suite, the Nellies cabanas are located under excursions-you can book there (assuming you book quickly enough-they seem to sell out fast due to very limited quantity).

We live in Tampa. :-) Love the proximity to the ports.

Anybody else on Oasis 5/11? Have a good/traditional roll call going, but not sure there's any other 'family' there...

We put up a door sign with a magnet last cruise (Cruise Critic sign). The sign and the magnet were taken, as were multiple 'do not disturb' cards on the hallway. From the running feet we heard, suspect it was kids. Steward said he received multiple complaints from folks on our hall, but never did find the culprit(s).

So, decorate away-just know that sometimes 'stuff happens'.

I like the new policy. There seems to be some procedure to adjust should someone receive sub-par service. We pre-pay anyway (and also add something additional for superior service and special requests), so the change doesn't really make a big difference to us personally.

Does anyone know how early these can be booked online, I don't want to miss out on my May 2013 cruise? And can you book them BEFORE you pay your final payment for the cruise (75 days before sailing)? Thanks in advance :D

You may want to check now on the excursion page for your cruise. We booked our OTW for May 2013/Oasis some time ago. And yes, you can book before final payment - but you do have to pay for the cabana (like other excursions) at the time of the booking.

On Allure in June, our room was just off the stairway on deck 8 - back by Dazzles. Never heard a peep from the nightclub while in our room.

In fact, we loved the location so much, we booked a very similar spot for our Oasis trip next year! Enjoy! :)
