  1. We have to cancel our cruise that is this coming December. There is going to be a 198 penalty if I do. Our debit card that we used when we booked is not valid.  Question is when I cancel and they can’t charge the penalty to the debit card. What will happen? Sue us?

  2. Does anyone know if the staff in the spa/salon does makeup? On land there are quite a few bridal parties that pay to have their makeup done. Do the wedding parties bring along their own makeup artist on the ship? Not good at doing my own makeup and was wondering if this is available on the ship. thanks in advance.

    Oh good question!

  3. Where do most people stay when driving into Miami for their cruise. Would love to be as close as possible but also maybe be able to get some sights in without getting into city traffic if possible. This will be our first visit to Miami so pretty excited.

  4. Make sure you try some conch fritters while you are there. I always get an order from somewhere. And yes, these are for eating there.

  5. Last time I was in Nassau I bought some jerk spice- it came in a bottle with a label (which has now fallen off so I can't tell you the name!) but it was like a small coke bottle in shape and was a deep red color spice, about 8 ounces or so... OMG it's great! I use it on chicken, beef, pork, even eggs!

EDIT** I meant to mention I bought this at the straw market in Nassau- exit the port, turn right and go straight, it's on the right side of the road.

Thanks! This is on my list :)

  6. I was wondering if there was any kind of foods anyone would suggest to buy at any local stores. I want to try fun foods. I know in Mexico it could be fun to do that but did not know about Bahamas

  7. I remember reading something about $50 deposit rules and conditions. Tried a search and a google but can't find any information. Have this offer from our Pride sailing on 1/7-1/21 and hope to take advantage of it and book a cruise. Can anyone tell me what I need to be aware of? TIA.

Best tip I have is don’t call after you do it to change a room lol they forfeit the special lower deposit and then charge you the full price due immediately:)

  8. I do agree that some people like to be social, but I also think people are in a hurry and would rather just ask their question and get on with their day, rather than research

Welcome to the world of instant gratification and laziness. Many answers are listed in the FAQ's or at least the same ones over and over we see daily have been answered many times over.

I mean how many times do questions about ES, smoking, FTTF and travel insurance need to be asked individually? It would not take much to find the answers on these subjects here if someone actually tried.

    It’s not at all laziness.

  9. It’s also good if you feel led to have a card with extra tip for them. Like the servers, ones who take care of you in your room, also have tip money for room service and even any excursions where you have guided tours and stuff, they sometimes get over looked.

  11. I called carnival and the reason for the change in price is because when I called to get a new room change since we didn’t want bunk beds I guess I forfeited my 50.00 deposit and it went from 50 to regular deposit price. But the lady who I talked to was so very kind and compassionate that she talked to supervisor and they got into my account and still let me have new room and they took off the extra price in deposits. No one told me the fine print the times I called. So thank goodness carnival is honest and they were very kind to help me fix my mistake and I still got the better room :)

  12. I called carnival to get moved from front of the boat to the middle and my price went up from 409 to 419 pp and that is fine. But it says I owe 500 by February 1st in email. I am so confused. We already paid the 100 deposit. I got the 50 pp special deposit sale going on.

  13. I've stayed in porthole rooms at the front of the ship on my past 3 Carnival cruises, but the noise wasn't worth the low-cost view. You get it from the booming bass in the showroom (I heard it even 3 floors down), you hear the anchor being lowered in port and other work at the front of the ship, and in any sort of rough sea you can also hear banging from waves hitting the prow of the ship.

On the plus side, since the ship narrows at the front, some of the rooms have more room than normal ones. The nook in a porthole was also big enough for my 6' niece to sleep in (3 kids in our group wanted to share a cabin, but the steward wouldn't bring a foldaway cot, so she just put blankets and curled up by the porthole). On the ships I've been on, the guest laundry is also there, as is the usual ship exit point for port debarkations, so it can be handy that way. Much less foot traffic and people wandering the halls (late-night drunks and running kids).

    I feel torn lol

  14. 2 but this is Carnival so no need to dress up.

I love the dress up part. On our first cruise in 2009 there were a lot of beautiful woman in gorgeous dresses I plan dress same as I did then. Of course you had some not as dressed up and some who did not at all.
