  1. We are booked on a Med Cruise May 2015 on Celebrity Constellation--out of Venice. We have Cabin 7171 booked--it is angled balcon, which I understand is larger than standard, but I am concerned about privacy.

anyone have experience with this cabin or similar location? I checked the sticky but couldn't find anything.

Secondly, I read that as Captain's club members we can upgrade by one level after booking? Does that mean I could call them and ask for a cabin-subject to availability- in the next category anytime before final payment? Also what is next level after 2A--is it C3? We booked direct with Celebrity for this cruise. Thanks in advance!

Have you reviewed the "sticky" post at the top of the page for cabin reviews? The answer is there.

After the "2" series comes the "1" series.

  2. Just some of the responses seemed kind of harsh. We want an upscale experience but not a stuffy snub nose one.

We cruise twice a year with Celebrity and have seen everything from "farmer's" bib overalls with a long sleeve white shirt to tails and top hat, all during formal night in the MDR. While women do often receive compliments for dressier formal attire, only one time have we seen a "incident" - maître d' and very underdressed man filled with a lot of Jack Daniels.

Due to an extended overseas (Europe) vacation then return to USA via Celebrity, we will skip the formal nights in the MDR this time (save suitcase space) and stay smart casual for dinner elsewhere.

Relax and enjoy the cruise. Celebrity passengers are laid back and fun-loving. Of course there will be a grouch aboard somewhere. Be like us-laugh at him/her behind his/her back, and enjoy the cruise!

  3. I booked our second only cruise, the first being with NCL in 1989, with Celebrity and their AQ cabins for two reasons. First, while we have 21 and 18 year old daughters, I had no desire to book a cruise that spent a great amount of effort catering to a teen-20s demographic (also families). Second, among the benefits of AQ that were attractive to us we also wanted to limit the number of crying kids or drunken idiots.

I read where more budget minded lines provide a very similar experience for all passengers, I did not want that. What did I want? I wanted the ability to reduce the percentage of passengers drunken screaming, three year olds throwing tantrums and folks vomiting off the rail. Will I potentially see that during my March cruise, maybe some and no big deal.

I appreciate being able to pay more in order to reduce the chances.

Sorry to disappoint your somewhat slanted attitude. We do two Celebrity cruises per year since year 2000. Perhaps were have seen one screaming rugrat and three quiet drunks for the combined cruises. Maybe you should avoid professional football games and have a happier attitude towards Celebrity Cruises.

  4. For the two of us it's all about the balcony and ease to the steps/elevators (we are 69 and 67-knees don't work like they used to)! The room is for sleeping, a shower and dressing/re-dressing for dinner. Why pay big bucks for a hotel room? Book a Marriott if that is what you want.

  5. You can "cut & dice" this several ways:

Are the perks in Elite, Elite Plus, etc. a class distinction-for the same cabin fee you get extra perks, reduced price, etc. while a "newbie" in a similar cabin does not receive this loyalty perk?

Are the closed dining rooms for Aqua and the new suite class a class distinction? They pay a different fee and both old-time cruisers and newbies pay the same.
