  1. Ok guys, going on a cruise at the end of next month. It’s been since 2005 that I last cruised with Royal and I was not able to drink then. As much as I would love for my friend and I to be able to get the ultimate drink package, that doesn’t seem to be in our favor this cruise for a few reasons I won’t get into. We will be getting the soda package & I know we will receive a cup with that. Does anyone know if on the Allure you can purchase a refillable cup for alcoholic drinks like you can on Carnival and then they cut you a break on the drinks you put in it? Thanks in advance all!

  2. We stayed at the Best Western Oceanside Inn just last month and got a very decent rate for it on Last Minute Travel Club, although our stay was in low season so for sure it'll be more expensive for your dates.

It's very close to the beach and the port, there are places to eat in walking distance and there's a decent included breakfast buffet. I would happily stay there again.

I’m glad to see this. I am booked there for my cruise at the end of October for the night:)

  3. I’m traveling on the Allure for Halloween this year. Planning on getting the drink package that way can try as many different drinks as I can. The last 4 cruises I have taken were with Carnival, and last Royal was 2005 & I was not yet of drinking age on that one.

I’m pretty open to all kinds of liquor. However, I will say, I do try to stay away from tequila, bc like the song says, “Tequila makes her clothes fall off”. Lol. With that said, I am not opposed to trying drinks with tequila in them. What drinks on Royal does everyone recommend?

  4. Does anyone have or could get the menus for the 6 night main dining room. Going in October and wanting to share with friends who have never been before. If there is another thread feel free to send me that way. Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday. Only 88 days til I set sail.

  5. Never have I ever had 2 cruises booked at once! Super excited for both. November 12 of this year I get to introduce my mother and a couple friends to cruising. As well as, be joined by some family who have cruised. Next October get to introduce another cousin to cruising, go on another Halloween cruise and go on the Vista. These next couple of vacations will be amazing. I know I'm so blessed to be able to go and travel like I do. Hope everyone has an awesome week :)

  6. Hello cruise critic! First, I want to thank everyone for the wonderful trip reviews! I love reading them!

I am Amber, I am 30 and from South Bend, Indiana! My husband is Matt and is 33. We love to cruise and this our first cruise since having our two kids, they are 3.5 and 2!

We fly into Miami on Friday and sail out of Port Everglades on the Conquest on Sunday. We are staying at the Embassy Suites in FLL. I will try to be very timely with my trip review and start it sometime during the week of January 11!

Too funny that's where I'm from, South bend, & we are doing that cruise in November. Looking forward to your review.

  7. Oh yeah I know he was with me on this cruise. Maybe not in the sense that I wanted him there but he was there with me every step of the way.

Gotta support the Irish. I love Notre Dame Football. My dad and I saw them play in the 2014 season in South Bend....it was an amazing experience

I'm so glad you got to experience that with your father. I'm from the Notre Dame area and it really is a different and fun time. Always recommend people from out of town to check out campus and anything that might be going on.

  8. We got a cabana once on Gt. We also thought it was a huge waste of money. We put a few incidentals in the cabana and got in the pool. We ordered a drink thru the waiter service (it took forever) and got back in the pool. It all sounded like a great idea at the time but not worth it to us. Theres no restroom in it so we still had to go to the public restrooms. The only thing it seemed good for was to leave the camera in while we were in the water.

    Just my opinion.

The reason for us to get one is because several people who are going in my group will be tired of the sun, but want to get off the boat and enjoy time spent with one another. Then they wont have to worry about being out in the sun all day with out shade or air. I know they aren't for everyone but I know we will benefit from them.

  9. We also have booked the cabana's each time we have been to Grand Turk (and it has been a lot). The only recommendation I have is that someone in our group gets up early so we have first pick of a Cabana and we usually try for number 2 and 3, close to bathrooms but not on top of them, closest to pool entrance from the side and have direct site of the pool bar and where the DJ sets up. We grab a couple of lounge chairs and place on the front porch. We love the Cabana's because a great place to eat or take a nap in air-conditioning and they will give you a key so that you can lock your items in them while shopping. And best of all your server (whether you use the call button in the Cabana) or in the pool will keep up with you and make sure your taken care of.

Awesome thank you. I know I'll be the one in the group to get out and up and get the cabana as soon as we can get off board. I'm just excited lol

  10. Guess I should start out by saying we are still 323 days out and I am currently checking daily for them to be released. Does anyone who was booked out pretty far in advance have any idea of when they might release them for booking? As well as, which cabana number would be best for us to try and get if we can once there? Thank you for any help & Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all.

  11. Cruising the 8 night on the Conquest with 2 seas days at the beginning then going to, St Maartens, St Kitts, San Juan & Grand Turk and last day at sea. Just trying to have an idea when the formal nights are so we can plan our dinner in the steak house. Thank you to anyone who might have any insight as to when they might be. Good day to everyone.

  12. It's been awhile since I have sailed close to the holiday season. When do they normally start putting up Christmas/Holiday decorations. Just thinking if its when we are sailing in November it might be nice to get some good family pictures with the decor. Thanks everyone
