On a 90 day cruise a couple of years ago (Sydney to Med. & back) we had a choir of 150 pax. We did 3 concerts in the theatre & 8 different songs for each show. I had a ball & we had a great choir master.

Oh Raebay. Not a nice experience. Maybe on your next cruise you will be at our table for 8. DH & I are quite normal people & enjoy a good story, a good laugh & good company. See you soon

Last year we did Sydney to Seattle on the Oosterdam. Service was great

Thank you for the review. Doing the same cruise 1s Aug

At present I am on mega dose of steroids for a medical condition. Cruising soon. Hope I don't have trouble with these.

We've booked into the Ibis Budget Heathrow hotel 24 Sept - AUD85/night

We did some research & have decided a good way to go from London Heathrow to Harwich is National Express bus to Colchester & then train Colchester/Harwich.

On nearly all cruises I have been on (with different cruise lines) I have had to turn my hearing aids off while in the theatre

Are the coolers on the Ryndam cold enough to keep insulin in

What were the disappointing bits of the cruise? We were thinking if they bring this cruise back in 2016 we would try it then but maybe we will be better of forgetting it all together. There is a Princess cruise for Sept this year which is similar but which is not as good & is more expensive.
-
So disappointed to hear the Sept. 2015 cruise - African Adventure (Southampton to Southampton) has been cancelled. We were all set to book it. I see Princess has a similar cruise so maybe we will have to look at that

Have only done one cruise with NCL but it will be our last. It is just not for us. Service was poor & we're also fans of set dining time.. On the NCL cruise we keep asking if we could share a table with others in MDR but in 2 weeks that only happened 3 times. partner & I can eat by ourselves any day of the week when home & we missed the joy of meeting & socialising at a meal.

I lie formal nights but I have to admit that DH goes & peruses the menu & then decides if what is on offer is worth 'putting on shoes & socks'

Days on the floor of the lift. I think that is a HAL thing

We have sailed on Princess, HAL, Celebrity & NCL & the only one of those I would never sail with again is NCL. Didn't suit us. Found their dining experience a let down. We like to share a table with interesting people but found we were put on our own (even after many requests) & also the waiters didn't seem to have a level of expertise. We are not really fussy but we also found the food not so good. The buffet was, to us, too much like a workers' canteen & it was hard to find a seat to sit on. All that being said we had gorgeous weather on that Alaskan cruise so our port experiences were great.

We always take some trail bars for port excursions mainly because DH is diabetic

Play mah-jong or cards - one way to meet some nice people

Such wonderful photos.

We cruised recently with NCL - our first time & last time. We found the food mediocre & the service in the dining room lacked that little bit of finesse. Plates were dumped in front of you with a bang, waiters reached across me to place plate in front of next diner. We are not overly fussy but we felt the dining experience was below par.

We're doing B2B2b soon & would you believe they have put us in different cabins for each leg. How am I supposed to remember where I live?

Why is Australia excluded???

We also were on the same cruise. No problem with smoke or perfume but we were very disappointed with the food & service I the dining room. Also we felt that the buffet on deck 11 was much like a factory canteen. Often very hard to find a chair to sit on. I have sailed over 500 days in the last four years & this cruise was the first one where I have had to queue so much. I admit that Alaska was wonderful & we had fantastic weather but this was our first & last with NCL.
CPAP question

I just got off the Sun Princess last week. We had an inside cabin & I used my CPAP machine. Electric outlet is just behind bed & no extension cord was necessary.
