I basically happened upon your review today at the beginning of my lunch hour ... I was reading, laughing, and munchin' away. Thank goodness I had my own little cubby area to myself!! :eek: :p

Jsim: I love that dress and complimented with the crisscross strap in the shoes. What material is the dress? It looks as if it travels well, not much fuss.

Indiana: your Anne Klein shoes from Zappos were a good buy. You definitely look ready for a cruise in your George capris!

My all time favorite flavor is butter pecan.

 

Mmmm, I love butter pecan ice cream over peach or apple cobbler.

I don't get seasick, but I've experienced mild to what I call extreme cases of landsickness, maybe up to 4 days max. after the cruise.

We head back up to the cabin and change into our swimsuits and grab our stuff and head off. Grand Turk is only 7 miles long and a mile and a half wide, so we plan on heading down the beach to Jack's Shack. We walk around the shopping area and go to the shopping hosts parties, we don't win, and then head for Jack's Shack. On their website they have a coupon for a free shot of rum at JS so we get a soda and pour our shot in it and have a rum and coke. I once again prune myself in the ocean, then after hours of fun, sun, sand and surf we head back to the ship.

Do my eyes deceive me, or is the Ruby the only ship in port at Grand Turk for the day??? Or had the other ship left already by the time you took these particular pictures? Lucky you if you were the only ship at port, that must have been nice.

Gosh lovelearnteach, thank you for your awesome review and pics. Sounds like the cruise was a success, thus far. We've cruised the E. Caribbean itinerary twice on the Ruby, and the 2nd time was the charm for us, you bring back good memories, sights, sounds, smells.

Right now I can't cruise for another two years, financially I just can't do it the way I want. :( Your review is definitely therapy for me. It's like opening up little treasures everyday and vicariously living it all over again!! :D

Wegman's makes an awesome, creamy ice cream! Better than the "major" brands and alot cheaper, too!

Sounds yummy, I love a good creamy ice cream ... I have GOT to try Wegman's.

For now my favorite is a bowl of Pet vanilla ice cream with Breyer's dark chocolate velvet.

We prefer Anytime because we're not inconveniencing others if we decide on a whim to dine elsewhere than the MDR for the night, and we don't feel compelled to let the waitstaff know we will be no-shows for the night, sometimes at the last minute. The food is just as good, anytime or traditional, and we still manage to befriend other cruisers!
