  1. We have an Alaska cruise tour ending in Vancouver on 9/17/2022.  We're looking at a return itinerary fared with UAL.  The first leg is YVR to ORD on Air Canada.

My question is do we go through US customs in YVR or ORD considering we will be on an Air Canada flight?  It is of a concern as we have a 1 hour 34 minute layover at ORD before continuing on a UAL regional jet to CLE.  Thanks

  2. Thanks to all of you for your replies.  I ended up calling and, after an hour-plus hold, ended up booking a roundtrip which kept the total price in line with what I could have done on my own by booking separate flights.  I'll keep watching and hope that in the next several months the prices will come down a bit.

    Thanks again.

  3. Awhile back, I reserved outgoing flights for an upcoming cruise tour to Alaska.  I now want to reserve return flights but I cannot find a way on the Princess Air site to accomplish that.  I do not want to cancel the outgoing flights as they are now more expensive in order to reserve a roundtrip itinerary.  Can someone offer a suggestion as to how I might be able to do this.  Thanks

  4. I agree with CruiserBruce.  We came back from Rome to CLT and on to CLE on American Airlines iron.  As stated, there will be a luggage drop off right after Customs.  You should have plenty of time but you will have to go back through security.

    Have a great trip!

  5. Thanks to everyone who responded.  We have had United change the seats that they had reassigned us on both flights.  In one instance we now have J & L seats in what may become a premium economy row.  In the other, we are now in D & E seats in economy plus rather than E & F.  I will now monitor our seat assignments every day until we leave.

    Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving

  6. On 2/8/19, we are flying from SFO to AKL on UA917 and returning on 3/16/19, UA916.  Both flights are on a United 777-300ER.  Today, I noticed that United had changed the configuration, dropping row 22 and, for rows 19 through 21, eliminating seats B and K.   Now there is a space between seats A & C and J & L.  Lastly, after row 21, there is a single lavatory rather than two smaller ones.  All other rows, aft, are in a 3-4-3 configuration accept the last two full rows on the aircraft.  United's general seat plan for that aircraft type as well as Seat Guru's does not show these changes.  United has changed our seat assignments without notice and we are in a quandary as to what to do as we find ourselves jammed up against the lavatory with few other selections available.

Does anyone have any idea what the space between A & C and J & L is or if it really exists?  Your input would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  7. Same question with different itinerary.

CLE/SFO/AKL on 2/8/19 arriving at SFO at 9:12p also all United metal.

I think we can get to the international terminal without going through any TSA or other checking.

Does everyone agree and how much layover time do we need?

    Thanks

  8. We will be sailing on the Eclipse TA leaving Southampton on October 28th. Since we are on a private cruise-tour, we will be arriving at the terminal by coach from the London airport with no stops. Are there any shops in the terminal where we can purchase wine and other items? If so, is the wine reasonably priced? I ask because we found the prices in the wine shop in the San Juan terminal to be as high or higher than on the ship we were doing a B2B on.

    Thanks

  9. Some time ago, we booked United flights from CLE to FLL for next February. As you might imagine, there have been some changes. The first two were minor involving a few minutes time differences and flight number changes. However, the third change had us arriving in FLL well over an hour later. This change would impose a pretty big hardship on those we were scheduled to meet to continue our trip.

I researched the other flights available and called United. The hold time was minimal and the agent courteous and knowledgeable. I explained the problem and he assisted in selecting another flight itinerary, booked it for us and made our seat reservations. No charges were incurred for this.

You might say that this is the way it should always be and I would agree. But, as reported in this forum, it is not always so. I thought it would be refreshing to report on something that went well.

  10. We will be taking that cruise tour starting on 10/10/14 connecting with the Regal Maiden TA in Venice on 10/17. We are looking forward to Switzerland and pray for good weather, especially when we travel to Jungfraujoch. Princess is going to use Kuoni Travel for the tour. Only know what has been said on the Internet, but they seem to get good marks.

    Good luck with your decision.
