  1. We are sailing on the Edge for the 1st time next month.  Since we are in Concierge Class, we know we can choose to have lunch in the MDR.  We did not choose to do this on our last cruise (on the Equinox) because the choices were limited and had very mixed reviews.  Could someone provide a list of the options on the Edge and any feedback/impressions would be appreciated.  We understand that food is very subjective, so just knowing some details of the options would be helpful.  Thanks!

  2. i am sure these have been asked before but i cant find them,,,i just got an upgrade on the Solstice from honolulu to vancouver to a C2 cabin ,,so if anyone has stayed in this class,,,,are there foot stools out on the veranda? and it says there is an upgraded room service menu?.,what is different about it ?

We were just on the Reflection in a CC room, not on the hump, and had footstools and the higher table, which is nice for dining on your balcony. BpWRJXzNCTvuzByx6proHbkkzGbNH22316

  3. I would recommend Jester Sailing Adventures: http://sailjester.com/ This is also a private company owned and run by Captain Jim. We have sailed with him twice, most recently last week. Only 6 passengers max, a fresh cooked lunch, a variety of beverages (including my favorite, Jester Juice, his own rum concoction), snorkel gear, float mats, etc. You get to go to secluded areas to swim and snorkel, and probably swim with turtles (we did both times, although being nature, there can't be a 100% guarantee). Jim even recommended a taxi for us, whom we contacted. He was waiting as we got off the ship and delivered us both ways in his brand new van.

  4. We did a similar independent trip last week with Captain Jim aboard The Jester. It is definitely more pricey than a ship excursion, but there are only 6 guests allowed. He sailed us over to St. John, making 1 stop before lunch (that he makes fresh & serves) and 1 after. There was almost no one in the water but us and we saw several turtles and rays at the second stop. As a previous poster stated, there is no guarantee what you will see since this is nature, but this is our second trip on the Jester and we saw turtles both times. For us it's about the lack of crowds and the flexibility of the schedule for being in the water. The boat has a place to lounge (a giant bean-bag type cushion) up front as well as seating in the back, plus the lunch and a variety of drinks. We would definitely sail with him again.

  5. We are flying out to Miami tomorrow to join the reflection for 2 weeks on Saturday... [emoji16] glad you enjoyed it as we are very excited about the cruise!

Do you remember what time the big klm 747 came in at Mayo beach... We've been before but it was supper busy and only saw some smaller ones coming in...

    Thanks for your info [emoji4]

It is a little hard to read the lower entries, but that was what was coming in that day. We were there (same tour) for about an hour, but I think that was longer than usual since our driver had to return to our previous stop to retrieve a forgotten bag for someone, leaving us to enjoy many flights coming in and a few going out.

  6. We are sailing 2 weeks from today - yea!! We haven't sailed in 2 years and wondered if they still provide those cheap blue tote bags in the rooms to take to the pool, beach, etc. Also, in Concierge Class we always got a nicer one as well (sturdier & bigger with a zipper). I have a few of both, so don't need new ones, but I always use them during the cruise, so if they are not provided anymore I will slip my old ones in my suitcase. Can anyone comment on either or both?

  7. I am thoroughly enjoying your review, pictures, and videos. We were on the Silhouette 2 years ago (Western Carib) and will be on the Reflection on the 20th of this month! Reading your posts just makes me more excited to go (didn't think that was possible!). I am especially loving all of the San Juan pics/videos. We haven't been there since 2008 (i.e. WAY too long) but I have loved it every time. Previously it has been our starting point for cruises; this is the first it is a port along the way. Sailing in and out of San Juan Harbour has always been a favorite - so beautiful.

I have also started on your Ocean Princess review from Venice. We visited there in 2011 on the Solstice. I think I could be content to just stop and rewatch the Venice videos since they bring back such wonderful memories.

I am curious about Princess, like your review style (fun, complete, and fair) so will continue to watch to learn more about their ships. Thanks again for sharing!

  8. We have never had a bad cruise. It is almost impossible to have a bad cruise unless your ship has an outbreak and/or it breaks down. The chances of that are slim to none. Just enjoy your vacation. Here is an example of how silly some people can be on vacation. We had come down to the port early for a 3 pm sailing and some people were complaining because they had to wait until 10 am when they really didn't have to let us on until the official 12 noon boarding. We were very happy, yet those others were not. It's all a matter of perspective.

  9. When reading the "sticky" with the cabin spreadsheet, it said our cabin (1059) had a trundle on the Solstice. I am assuming it will be the same on the Silhouette. We won't be using it, but wondered if it affects luggage storage under the bed.

I also can't remember if the fridge has a small freezer section in it. Due to some recent knee problems I want to bring my small cloth ice pack to use in the evening if possible. Thanks for any help with these!
