  1. We have a young lady from Celebrity who has handled all our reservations for a few years. We have the toll free number with her direct extension.  She always calls us back and even though she is in Florida, after her hours and on Saturdays. Try to book through one person from Celebrity that will handle all your questions.

Kathy and Mark, we do enjoy having a butler!

Setting out and clearing your breakfast, bringing coffee....Generally there to sort any problems you may have...

One of the nicest things he will do for you is arrange evening dining course by course from the MDR on your veranda....Great after a heavy day sightseeing.

Re drinks, technically the butler only sorts beers, sodas and spirits for the top suites although several SS guests with drinks packages have reported that their butler has done this for them.

If you decide to host a party the butler will bring trays of snacks and fruit juice and clear up after. No charge.

We ask our butler to sort a small snack for us to enjoy late at night on the balcony, our favourites being shrimp and cheese plates....Really nice to return to your room to enjoy a last drink on the balcony with a few nibbles.

Although afternoon tea is now in Michael’s your butler will still, on request, deliver tea and a selection of mini sandwiches and sweets...

A good butler will do all requested of him, a great butler will think of little things you didn’t even know you wanted!!! For example, we were returning to our suite with some ‘new friends’, out pops the butler, sorts out the seating on the balcony, insists on serving drinks and then pops back a minute later with nuts and chips...On another occasion our butler saw our young adult son returning to the room early and asked him if everything was OK. When he said he was just a bit tired and going to watch a film the butler returned with popcorn!

Many guests do not particularly want the butler ‘fussing’ so have a chat with him on boarding about the services you would like.

We do always give the butler extra tips...how much does depend on how much we have used them and how efficient they have been...

Thank you so much, that is exactly what I wanted to know.  It was very helpful.

    We sail in ten days!!

I know what you mean.   I don’t take anything too serious and just like having fun and yanking a few chains.   As you said some are just too uptight and stuffy.

My wife always looks at me and asks when I am going to grow up.

Referring to the toot I usually take printed up papers that I place  on chairs as I am walking by that read “Please do not fart in the cushions”.    My wife always makes sure that she is walking way ahead of me when I do that.   Don’t know why?   🤔

    hope we meet up someday

    happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅.

Hi there - Y'all seem to be the type of folks I can ask this.  We have sailed in Aqua Class for the past 9 years and this is our first  time in a suite (Sky Suite S1).  I am not really sure of what to expect or ask of our 'butler'.  Our room attendant was always so helpful and amazing in taking care of us and we usually tipped him/them well.  But with a butler, what do those of you who sail in a Sky Suite recommend - $100 - $200? or does it depend on how much we need him?

    Thanks for your answers

Thank you so much for the amazing video and narration. I love being able to direct friends here so they can see the fun folks we cruised with.

We loved your fun and generous nature. This was only my second cruise and cruising with The Maniacs was a blast though we missed a few of the activities (as we are still sort of newlyweds!). We do look forward to another Maniac cruise.

thanks again for including us in such antics!

And yes Colorado is getting hit with so much snow since we have been home as well as low low temps but Mark is enjoying the powder:D

  5. I was in 3rd grade and ironically, my teacher's name was Mrs Kennedy. - Living so close to where this tragedy took place, I remember the announcement over the PA and school was canceled before we knew he had died. Constant tv for the next few days and no school till later the next week. I remember my parents taking us down to the plaza and how sad it all was and still is

  6. Hey - as a few people noted, talk with your doctor and physical therapist. I had rotator cuff surgery done in late May along with bicep repair (very typical but they don't know till they get in if you need that) -

For full recover 6 months (70% per my doc) to 18 months - all depending on type of surgery, age, fitness and attention to PT. I have done PT 3 times a week for over 4 month.

Even with being at 6 months for out Jan cruise, I was going to be very careful - no bags and nothing weight bearing and still with arm sling while traveling

Many people sleep in the recliner for up to a month - make sure to get the cooling machine - help so much and better than ice packs

Check YouTube - I watched videos after my surgery made by a PT from Florida (PremierPTJax) that had the same surgery and it was great to see what he was doing and pain levels - as well as comments.

Each person is different but this is the most difficult and longest recovery surgery - even more than total shoulder replacement so - take your meds the first week religiously and sleep!!! and talk to your doc a lot!

my email is kathy.wilson.55@aol.com if you want to visit

Kathy and good luck (and even with all my careful work - I get to have a second one due to new tearing because the first was so major and did not heal right)

  7. Thank you for doing this daily blog - I know it is very time consuming and ALL of us following you really appreciate it

We will be on the Summit next Nov - in an aft CC cabin (never having done anything other than Aqua on an S Class ship - it will be interesting) so I am loving learning about the Summit through you

And you are a great photographer, and to spent your wifi minutest and money on this, superb!

  8. Like everything else in life, it is a personal choice. And those of us that choose to honor the marriage and our husbands by doing this, are willing to go through the legal hoops to share in his name. I did it when I was 18, left my maiden name behind then and no longer want the na:eek:me of my ex husband to carry around and relish the idea and feeling of being Mrs. Wilson -

So, - let's take this thread BACK to the original intent of passport questions not name change preferences.

    Kathy Wilson

  9. Thanks for the all the input - I did get a message back from the passport officials and it was suggested to just carry my passport with with my old name along with certified copy of the marriage license and that should work but the ship still wanted to keep my name in my old name

We got out certified copies within minutes at our county courthouse, they just did them while we waited and - one also needs a certified copy of the application which is the only thing that shows both names, pre and post marriage so don't forgot that as many places want both

Kathy - so looking forward to the honeymoon on the Eclipse Jan 7

    :o

  10. I understand in many countries that this may not be the tradition or even desired.

I got married at age 18 in 1973 and took my new husband's name and still have that name (we were married for over 36 years)

I am now marrying my high school sweetheart and first love (so like many young girls, practiced my signature of being Mrs. Mark Wilson during the 60's and early 70's) so now after all this time, it is coming true so yes, I do want to change my 'old' married name to my new one BUT I understand the need to take it slowly and do it right

    Thanks for the input

    Kathy:D

  11. Thank you, the issue is not that I don't have a passport, just it is not in my new married name and by the time we get married, there will not be time to get it. But I received a note from the passport center - see below. so it looks like as long as I have a certified copy of our marriage certificate, I will be good.

If time does not permit an update of your valid passport prior to your trip due

to a name change, you may travel on your passport in your current name along

with your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court ordered name change.

We advise you check with your airline or cruise line for their requirements. So, now I have to make sure Celebrity will let me on the ship with the same.

  12. As I am getting married in November and sailing in early Jan, I am not sure that is time enough to wait for my certified marriage certificate, then mail it all off to get a new passport with my new name. Will I be able to board the ship in Miami with the old passport and my certified marriage certificate? OR other option, leave everything in my maiden name till we return....:(

    thanks

    Kathy
