  1. I have found that you can record it all you want before the cruise but in most cases the extension cord or the water will be there.

Its never a big deal as the room attendant will go get it right away.

  2. We were also on the 7/22 sailing and share your disappointment. Of the five shows we had booked, we only got to see two of them. I know things go wrong, but it was one cancellation after another.

It was the cruise of cancellations....we went to the Martini Class on Saturday and it was cancelled (only time the class was cancelled all week)

We were pretty upset once Cats was cancelled.

  3. I started a thread a while back about our experience on the Oasis 07/15/18 cruise.

To us it lacked the WOW that we had on the Harmony the previous week.

There were a couple of upper tier problems. But nothing a less seasoned cruiser would notice.

But all in all it was a great cruise. The elevators had had demons for as long as we have been sailing on her. But the easy solution is just get in the elevator even if it's not going the way you want to go. It won't be going far. And this way it will not pass you up.

As far as cancellations goes. The Aqua theater cancels quite a bit. Because the high divers only have a 24 inch circle they have to hit. So they don't hit the bottom. There is an air blast that slows them down. With out it they will be hurt.

The stage shows are productions that require a lot of technical things. With one of a kind parts. It seems like that's what happened.

I would suggest you call Royal and ask for resolutions and let them know you displeasure. I think they would accommodate you.

I was told upper management has decided there would be no compensation for this cruise.

    :o:(:(

  4. Happens all the time at Port Canaveral unless the cans/bottles are stored in luggage.

We were just got off Oasis.

I was talking to another passenger and they brought two bags (one for each room) each filled with water and soda. One bag made it and the other did not make it.

He was ok with it - still came out ahead.

I went the same way - i put a case of water in a bag and it made it to the room just fine.

  5. My husband and I were on this cruise. We had the aqua show scheduled at the beginning of the week and they kept rescheduling it because of a hydraulic problem. We never did get to see it but understood Safety First. They also cancelled Come Fly With Me with no explanation. Instead they put together some variety show. And I also heard that they cancelled Cats later showing; we had seen it earlier in the week. Because of all the cancellations it was obvious they were trying to figure out what to do instead and had a parade on the Promenade. Don't get me wrong we had a wonderful week, a wonderful cruise and we love Oasis of the Seas. And I'm sure they were doing the best they could do. It just really is a shame. As far as the ship we did notice some seats were torn in the Windjammer but all in all it looked really good.

I understand, why they were cancelled but I dont have to be happy about it. Day 7 was the best day we had on the cruise. We went to the martini class and just to stay with the week's theme, it was cancelled (we had five people not at least 7 like they want). The bartender stuck around and gave us some samples anyway.

Come Fly with Me was also a technical issue. It was announced a part broke and they do not have the part on board and cannot make one. Within an hour they cancelled Cats for the rest of the sailing citing the same issue.

We were on 10. The carpet was fairly worn in the hallways.

  6. That really is too bad if you believe that the shows are a major part of your cruising. I get it.

We rarely go to any of the shows so this would not made any impact on us.

Did they offer any kind of OBC for the cancellations for a big part of what they offer for entertainment?

The elevators and cushion could happen anywhere but in addition to the shows which were important to you, it may have been a bigger deal at the time.

Hope your next cruise goes better for you. :)

nothing was offered, they just changed the shows to variety shows. If i want a variety show i will turn on the Gong Show

Agreed about the elevators. It became comical but at the start it just added to the mess.

  7. So sorry! Sounds disappointing. Why’d they cancel production shows? High seas?

The first diving show was an injury.

The shows in Opal were cancelled because of a broken part that did not have on ship and could not make one. Had the done the shows the performers would have been at risk. i understand but i dont have to like it.

  8. We were trying to decide between the 7/15 sailing and the 7/22 sailing.

I keep hearing "you chose poorly." in my head.

The three of us are using the words disappointing and frustrating. Cancellation was theme for the week.

I will write my review this week but for now I will leave these items:

    - We were very excited to get on board, so like most people we headed to Windjammer. We got there early enough that the place was not overrun yet. That was nice. Then I sat down in the chair and i found a chunk missing in the padding and a slit in the padding. I know I know a chair shouldn't be that big of a deal but when I see something so run down within 20 minutes of being on the ship it put me on edge.

    - The elevators. wow. They could not be trusted. You can press the button, you may or may not get there. There as times where you would get on an elevator and it would go up. Stop at 5 stops and with the 6th stop lit up it would skip it and go back down. The elevators became a joke between the passengers. We still kept taking them but every trip was an adventure. The buttons are back lit with blue and just barely a brighter blue when they are selected.

    - Cancel, cancel, cancel. We pay extra to go on Oasis class. We expect some entertainment. In fairness very little was RCCL's fault but it goes back to my poor choice. The first water show was cancelled. The replaced it with a walk through of the same show. We watched it and it was a work through where you could tell the performers did not care. Still fun to watch. This show was cancelled due to an injury. I am guessing who it was and i think the performer was trying to see if they could make it through the show. The did the show right after that at 9:30. Little did we know it would be the last show we would see. As Fly with me, Cats, and all remaining water shows were cancelled. They added a variety show as if that could make up for those. Some of the movies that i wanted to see were also replaced with other movies ... sigh. In case you were wondering a part broke into the pool leaking hydraulic fluid. It had to be drained, cleaned, and fixed and another part broke in the Opal that they did not have on board.

The last day on the ship was our favorite. Too bad it too so long to get things rolling by then as our frustration level was pretty high.

  9. If you don’t like rides, Universal is not for you! Lots of roller coasters and thrill rides. From what I remember, the shows came no where close to the shows at Animal Kingdom. Make sure you see Finding Nemo: The Musical and Festival of the Lion King. Those two shows are worth the price of admission alone. At Epcot, it’s all rides (save for a couple of movies in World Showcase). But they’re just slow moving ones.

I’m not a thrill ride person, either, but I do love Disney World!

We are going for the Harry Potter stuff. Otherwise we wouldnt even be going there :)

  10. I’ve got pics of the first nights MDR menu (think that’s the only one you’ve missed isn’t it Robyn?), along with almost every days compass (both normal and adventure ocean version) Once we get back home I’ll try to figure out how to post a pic and share them if there’s anyone interested. Oh and so far we’ve had a doggie, a swan, and a monkey for towel animals. Think Dan Dan said this was his first week onboard as cruise director, I like him.

    I am interested!

  11. They have freestyle machines on the Allure.

If it is like the Freedom, there was four locations with freestyle machines and you could get soda at anytime from those.

You need a special cup to get the machine to work - then you can get soda from bars as well. On the Freedom I think i tried to get soda from a bar once - It did not come from a can, it was fountain
