  1. I see you can pre-purchase a Multi Device Internet Package for up to 4 devices. If my cabin mate and I purchased one package, would we each be able to use both our phones and IPADS with it? The cost would be less than buying the 1 device package each.

Thanks for any insight on this topic.

That's great, thanks. A £100 fee for an upgrade on a 15 day cruise sounds worth it, although we would only do it if it's a decent room.

    Cheers.

Please don't be lulled into thinking that a cabin upgrade will get you from an inside to an oceanview or balcony. If you have an IE, a category upgrade could still be to another inside, just an ID, IB or IA.  😉

There is a thread on this from last week. I will see if I can find it.

Found it. This thread started with a question about the Sky Inaugural Trans Atlantic to Ft Lauderdale but there is a lot of info on the inaugural cruise etc.

    https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2637634-what-special-things-to-expect-on-an-inaugural-transatlantic-sailing/

Thanks for the link to the thread, but they are talking about the 1st trans-Atlantic cruise of the Sky, not what Princess has advertised as the "Inaugural Cruise" on Oct 20th.  I was wondering what those who have been on an advertised Inaugural cruise have experienced.

  4. I am currently booked on the "Inaugural Cruise" of the Sky Princess this October.  I was wondering if we can expect anything special, something different, since it's the Inaugural cruise?   I heard somewhere Princess used to give nice gifts to those on that cruise, but it's not true any longer.  Can any of you who have done Inaugural cruises shed some light?  Thanks! 🙂

    Have not seen anything

Me neither. 😕  Last year I got an email about it, but the cruise was not very well advertised. Two different Future Cruise Consultants gave me the 'deer in the headlights' look when I asked about it.  😲😵  They both told me they never heard of it and one actually had the nerve to say he doesn't have time to read all the emails he gets from Princess!! 😒

  6. No RS allowed with the package. As stated no canned sodas.

Thanks guys. I didn't think so, but there was an incident last night so I wanted to double check. The woman in a suite next to us was in the corridor yelling at the room steward about all the charges on their bill for soda and water. She was constantly repeating how much they had spent and what they were ENTITLED to. "I can go anywhere on the ship and get whatever I want to drink at any time. Why am I being charged for all this water?" The poor steward was trying to explain that was not his job, it was room service. She DEMANDED that HE do something about it. When he said he would call a supervisor, she slammed her door in his face.

I spoke to him saying how sorry I was for the way she treated him. He said not to worry about it that everyone on the ship was aware of them. I did send a note to his supervisor praising him on the calm and respect he showed her. I don't know if I would have had that much restraint. 😳

  7. Most people would know it as a bean bag toss rather than corn hole. Something akin to horseshoes but with bean bags and a hole rather than horseshoes and a stick. ;)

They have one on the Regal, but it is kept locked away and only brought out when the cruise directors staff is playing a game.

I can't imagine them leaving it out for anyone to use. I'm sure in no time the bean bags would sprout legs! :D

Best you book your next cruise with MSC Dan, if that is a must have for you.

  8. I have a question for those of you that have gotten the photo package.....if I buy the package, do I have to be in every picture in order to get it? What if the photographers take pictures of my kids and I am not in the picture...do I still get them as part of the package. Or, do I have to be in every picture if I buy the package? Thanks for any info. Karen

Anyone who is in your cabin can be in the picture. If you are sharing a cabin with your children, they can be in pictures by themselves. If they are in a different cabin, someone from the cabin that purchased the package must be in the photo.

  9. I have a question. I know only one person per cabin needs to buy the package. But can anyone in the cabin pick up the photos or does it need to be picked up by the person who bought the package? Examplemy sister and my niece are all traveling together in the same cabin. I bought the package but can my niece that’s in my cabin go and get her photo that’s just a photo of her alone. Or do I have to go in get the photo of her and then give it to her :

When you go to pick up the pictures be sure to have the flash drive they give you. They scan the picture on to the drive when you pick up the photos.

If you go every day to collect the pictures it is easy to remember where you were the day before. ;) If you wait a few days in between I find it is harder to find them all.

As long as someone from the cabin that bought the package is in the photo, it will be included, no matter how many others are in it.

Princess really needs to adjust the pricing on the photo package. It is the same price whether you are on a 5 day or 21 day cruise.

  10. Hi! We're leaving in a few weeks on our Princess cruise, and I can't decide if the $119 photo package is a good value or not. Has anyone purchased the photo package and loved it? Regretted it? How many pictures would we have to purchase on the ship to make purchasing it worth it?

    Thanks! :D:D:)

I bought the photo package for a 15 day TA. I thought it was worth every penny. ($199 purchased online, pre-cruise or $249 purchased on board)

I enjoy scrap booking and like all the port pictures with the information and special borders. Everything is included on the ship flash drive they give you. Super handy for digital scrapbooks. :D

We especially liked the special pictures such as with the Captain, Stanley the Bear, Officers, Champagne Waterfall, specialty restaurants, Discovery Green Screen, Sea Walk, etc. The only pictures NOT included in the package are the 'on-deck sunset photos' and of course, the platinum studio.

We came back with close to 100 photos, plus all the digital files. Would do it again depending on the ports.

  11. It is possible to qualify in Australia by taking the 2 or 3 day cruises-either Melbourne-Sydney or vice versa, or Sydney-Brisbane and vice versa.

What about those people who need to budget very carefully for their chance to enjoy a cruise? They may only be able to manage the shorter cruises. Why should they be penalized for enjoying the shorter cruises?

How is anyone being 'penalized' for taking shorter cruises, other than the fact that it will take longer to reach Elite? Days are days and that is truly the more equitable way to reach the different levels.

Those on the West coast can sail as a single, in an inside cabin, on a one night cruise, and get 2 cruise credits. 8 days and poof, you are Elite. Another person sails alone on a world cruise of 111 days and gets the same 2 credits?

I don't consider the laundry a great perk. I have had some items ruined and now very rarely use it. On my last cruise, my roommate wanted to wash a couple of things. I figured since she was sending some stuff I would add a T shirt I spilled coffee on one morning. I got the T shirt back 3 days later with a note attached that they were unable to remove the stains and further laundering would ruin the item. I took it home, threw it in the machine with some oxy-clean and what do you know? Good as new!

A real perk for me would be a separate line for Suites & Elites when returning to the ship after a day in port. A priority tender line back to the ship would be nice too. But it would have to be for the Elite and their cabin mate only, not all 22 ancillary friends they picked up along the way! :D ;)

  12. If it's that easy a job, maybe you should apply for the position! Or, as an old saying goes, "Nothing is impossible to the person who doesn't have the mission."

    Tom

Are you kidding??? I would LOVE to have either of those jobs. Unfortunately I don't think my husband or children would appreciate me running off to sea! Besides, I have never seen either of those jobs posted on the Princess site.

  13. The CC host has quite of bit a work to do outside of office hours. Some of the work:

    a) Preparing all the invitations to the Captain's Circle parties for returning guests.

All computerized and can be done in a matter of minutes with simple mail merge programs.

    b) Preparing the invitations for the MTP event and dealing with the responses.

    Only 40, again computerized.

    c) Preparing all the mailings for passengers who will move up in the Captain's Circle at the end of the cruise.

What? Put a name on a packet? Again computerized.

    d) Hosting the Captain's Circle parties and the MTP event.

It's not like it is different every cruise. This is done as a matter of rote.

Data entry of FCD's should take minutes a day. Maybe they have a bad attitude because we are interrupting their paid vacation?:eek:;)

  14. It has been my experience that the Future Cruise Consultants think they are doing us a REAL BIG FAVOR. 'Customer Service' never enters their mind.

Does anyone know what other duties the Captain Circle Host and Future Cruise Consultant have on the ship, that they can only be in their office 2-3 hrs a day???? What are they doing the other 10-12 hrs??
