  1. I found the nightlife on this cruise to be poor. Not to say that the guests weren't trying to have fun. I had heard more than one person agree that it was very dead in the evenings. We were in a large group of 97 and most felt that way. The casino was empty, the disco - empty. There was a piano bar with a singer that wasn't very good. A country singer that was just ok. I did enjoy the shows. The comediene was very vulgar (in my opinion) I don't have a problem with cursing if it is called for. This was over the top. DSorry to be negative. But I did love the cruise.

  2. They let you bring on 1 bottle of wine per person. They also tell you this can only be done in San Juan. I brought wine onboard in almost all the ports we visited. My bag went thru the scanner and no one said anything. I did not bring it to their attention either!

  3. I got on the ship 12:30ish. Our hotel checkout was 12pm. I think they started letting people on a bit earlier than that. We were able to bring on 1 bottle of wine each. We did bring back 3 more later on in the evening. Also, we were able to bring more wine on in the other ports even though they tell you that you can't. They are more strict with hard liquor. I did bring on some of those little bottles without a problem.

  4. I'm sure this was asked already but I couldn't find the answers quick enough. What is the earliest time for boarding. Is it 12:00 pm? The person who did the planning for our group cruise told everyone 2:30. Also, what exactly do I need to have with me to board the ship. Just the fun pass or the whole e-doc. I don't want to print out all this paper if I don't need it. Thanks.

  5. I have 3 certificates from the old Compass Reward Points. Its 100 points One Category Upgrade. I have 3 of them. Can I trade these in for onboard credit? What would 300 points get me? I have to book a cruise by 1/31/10 in order to use them but can cruise anytime until 1/31/2011.

  6. The Marriott Courtyard is a 3* on Priceline, Sheraton is 3.5 *. Start the bidding @ $50.00 if you are doing the 3* for the Marriott. I forgot to change the bid and wound up paying 70.00 which was my limit when I was trying for the Sheraton. Don't get me wrong, I am happy because the Marriott's rate is much higher but my cousin bid after me and got the Marriott for $50.

  7. I'll be on the Victory 1/10/10. I have a question regarding the size of the shower stall in the Balcony cabin. There is concern that it will be very tight for someone who is very large. Is there a place where I can find the dimensions. I might have to switch to a suite to get a tub. What do handicapped balcony rooms have for a shower? Thanks for any help.

  8. We no longer use the cruise line transfers. We rent a limo each way. It is much cheaper and quicker. We are going to Seattle on July 15. We have a limo for $40.00 each way.

So, then you call ahead and they meet you at the airport after you get out of the airport? Do you use someone in particular? Thanks.

  9. I sailed the Star out of SEA last year with parents aged 70+ (one has trouble walking) and they did fine. Flew into SEATAC the night before. It was a major pain to get a Taxi since you had to go up a level, cross to a garage then back down.

Is this after you retrieve your luggage? Is there an elevator or escator and clear signage to direct you to taxis? I was going to purchase transfers but its more expensive than a taxi and I would like to stop at a store first before going to the ship.
