  1. Good Morning!

I was just wondering if anyone had an idea when they would start decorating

the Oasis of the Seas? We are sailing out on November 4th, I know that is

pretty early to start decorating but I have been on other cruise lines

that start decorating around this time.

    Thank you!! :*:*

  2. I am getting ready to book beverage packages for my husband and myself.

I was going to get the refreshment package, but as I read more I really don't think

we would take advantage of the extras included.

My question is , can I get water from the soda fountain with the Classic package?

We've always traveled with the deluxe drink package but this vacation is

with our three children so that would not be worth the money.

Also can you get juice in the windjammer for breakfast with just the classic soda package?

Thanks in advance as I am sure this has been asked before.:*

  3. This is such a refreshing review! We leave on November 4th, We have cruised Disney twice with our kids this is our first cruise with kids not sailing them and lately I have been reading horrible reviews. I am going into it with an open mind and telling myself I paid 1/4 of what Disney wanted and my kids are going to have an amazing time, because they aren't nit picking.

Thank you for sharing what a great time you had!

  4. Didn't you say she doesn't use one at home? Just go to lunch on the ship, and than find a place to sit afterwards. Most of the time, that's all we do anyway if we get to the ship early. You might be able to get the scooter, but it shouldn't be a big deal.

She does not use one at home, but she also isn't able to walk long distances, even Windjammer to

her room would be a huge deal for her. She had part of her lung removed when they took

out the cancer. I think we will just board once the rooms are ready for her sake, so they

can just roll her to the room and she can pick up her scooter, if not what the other poster

suggested just going to lunch and then having someone fetch the scooter from her room

    and bring it to her!

Thanks for the review on both companies I am going to call this week and see

what their guidelines are as to taking the scooter off the ship as she will need to.

  5. The cruise is round trip from Port Canaveral.

What local companies would you suggest calling

    and pricing around.

We do in fact have an accessible stateroom booked for her.

Thank you for the heads up though, from past experience

I cannot imagine trying to get that scooter through a standard

    stateroom door.

I am going to look at scoot-around and special needs at sea today.

I do believe that Special needs was bit cheaper, but that makes me nervous

is there a reason they are less expensive?

Also I know that the Scooter is left in the room, but rooms aren't available

until 1 PM, what is the solution until the scooter can be accessed. I know

they will give her a wheelchair to be wheeled onto the ship correct?

Sorry for all the questions just with her limited mobility I want to

make this as smooth as possible for her , because she already

feels like she is being a burden. :(:(

  6. My mother whom is a lung cancer survior, is going on our cruise

with us this fall and while she doesn't normally use a scooter

to get around she felt more comfortable with one on our last

cruise because of the amount or walking around that you end up doing.

That being said, I cannot for the life of me remember which

company we used 4 years ago when we cruised with her.

If anyone has some suggestions, ones that rent nice reliable scooters for

an affordable price, I would really appreciate the input.

    Thank you :*

  7. This is where we are sitting right now. I can't seem to book shore excursions because RCCL put the 10 year old on a reservation by herself. I can't pull her over to our reservation because she is too young.

Really all I can say is to complain. It isn't going to change if they don't hear about the issues.

I am able to pull my 13 year old over to book excursions with us.

My issue is booking his internet and drink package AND he

has a different last name so it won't let me link them.

Its been a nightmare. But I did just book the Hibachi Experience

and I could add a guest on a different reservation with no issue

    on the cruise planner!

  8. We just returned from Oasis (Feb 18-25) Western Caribbean cruise - my 13 yr old son says no X-box on the ship. He says the "living room" for the teens (13-17) had some arcade style games, but no X-box. Plus the arcades do not have X-boxes.

He was still quite busy on the ship. Take them to the teen meet and greet on the first night, and your son will identify some peers for the rest of the cruise. The ship has some staff and activities for the age group and gender. My daughter - 15 went to the room, as well, but just hung out with other girls. My son played basketball, dodge ball, scavenger hunts - and came back with a couple of "medals" from RCI. They had breakfast and dinner with us nightly, but the rest of the days they were out with friends until 11 PM. They have stayed in contact with their new friends.

Perfect thank you for your helpful reply! I will keep an eye out for that meet and greet!

  9. This is what we do as well. I'm curious when you are sailing Disney for a week in a balcony for $6K because I've never seen it that cheap for a one-week sailing in a balcony.

You have to book on opening day to see this price. Basically 18 months in advance.

We ended up booking a 5 person balcony room on the Oasis for around $3000.

We are happy with our decision and look forward to sailing in November.

I did not use a Travel Agent and sort of regret it, the one I did contact

told me that even on the Oasis you couldn't book 5 people in one room

and I knew that to be incorrect so I book through Royal Directly.

Thanks for all the advice and help.

  10. I have only cruised RCCL once before and we did not plan

far enough in advance to eat at any of the specialty restaurants.

I really only have interest in two of them, how far in advance can

I try and make reservations, we are a party of 5 people which is not

overly large but also not 2 people which seems to be easier.

    Please Advise.

    Thank you :halo::cool:

  11. We just booked the OASIS of the seas.

I was just wondering if the Voyagers club had Xbox's!

My 10 year old is really into playing video games and

he was curious. I did see they are available in the teen

club so I just wanted to check for him because he was

asking and I spent awhile getting lost in the good

abyss and came up empty ;p;p;p;p;p;p!

    Thank you in advance!

  12. Hmmmmmm, just for fun I priced out connecting ocean view balcony cabins on the 10/6/2018 Harmony sailing. $4124 for 5 people.

I have sailed on DCL many times as a family of 5 and no way you could come close to that price.

    Good luck.

The Price I was given was actually over the phone by a rep. I am going to contact a

travel agent this evening and see if they can find connecting rooms and also

book the extra adult as an adult so we can take my mom and then still get KSF in

the other room. Hopefully I can find the deal that you did!

  13. My husband and myself have cruised RCCL without children and only DCL with children. Since RCCL was running a KSF special we decided to try and do a cruise with kids on board the harmony and or the symphony of the seas. Now because we have 3 children and need a cabin for 5 we are obligated to call and book our reservation instead of booking online. Tonight I spent 90 minutes on the phone with them! So frustrating and they assured me while they have balcony rooms that sleep 5 people they do not have any available on either ship in a 3 months span!! Needless to say this 3 month span is during hurricane season and also off season as well. There are many rooms advertised online as sleeping 5 people but when you try to book them with a rep, they state that 5th person has to be in a crib!!!

The cheapest room I could find for 5 people was over $6,000 and if we are spending that much we will just book Disney. We were looking to have a new experience and spend less money. Anyone have any advise that has cruised this line with larger families? When I ask what ships sleep that many in a standard room , they tell me the Oasis class.:confused: I then explain that I am trying to BOOK the OASIS class!! I am just so frustrated with the way this cruise line treats standard size families! Why can we NOT book our own vacations why must we call and endure the entire upsale process.
